Leroy Jackson Park

What do you want out of a park? This park has it. Nice playground, jogging trails, basketball courts, sports fields, dog run, BBQ with picnic tables. . . this park has it all. And the whole time you are surrounded by scenic vistas of the mountains.
PS. I think some of the photos listed for this park are actually of Petroglyph Park across the street. But the parks' proximity to each other is a plus for more variety.

Maintained well and there when you need it! Grateful for these free places to let the kids burn of energy!

It has a dog park. It has baseball diamonds. He has a picnic area. It has everything but a pool.

Great things for everyone to do... even has a dog run

Great park. Has all types of fields for all recreational activities such as soccer, baseball and tennis. It also has a skate park and a well kept dog park for small and large breeds. Highly reccomend for quick visit with kids or dogs.

Large park with bathrooms, several horse shoe pits, grassy areas, a couple baseball diamonds, a skate park just up the road, 2 dog parks, saw lots of people enjoying this place. There's enough benches and tables for 200 people and enough grassy areas for another 500. It's really big.

It is a nice park. Not exactly my favorite but it has a lot of nice areas. Soccer fields, two dog parks, a nice playground, and much more.

The park sure has grown over the years lots of grass and trees for shade and plenty of benches (very important). Just wish it didn't close at night , maybe more lighting is the answer...it is right across the street from the fire department so it should be safe.

Fun park for r/c stuff. Good play area for my daughter to kick around and have fun

Nice park for walking dogs!

Lots to do and have fun with kids! A great park playground and equipment, walking/running trails, exercise areas, room to run & play! Lots of ducks nearby as well as some Chipmunks. Definitely visit this park!

Awesome park. 2 different fenced in dog areas, basketball courts, swings, playing fields. What more can you ask for? A lot of the valuable grass and shade in Ridgecrest are at this park and it's right in the heart of town near other services.

Great place for picnics and parties. Awesome scare park for the cities youth. Dog park is well maintained by the plethora of Kern County Superior Courts turnout of community services to work for freedom.

I hit the jackpot finding this park the tennis courts were amazing, there is also a skate park, baseball field, soccer field

It's a decent park. Could use better water fountain placements and a few more areas with awnings and bbq grills with tables. Definitely a Wi-Fi hotspot for the parks with a time frame set from morning to curfew for the public to use.

This is a great Park! It has plenty of shade, nice green grass, green trees, etc. I stopped there to eat, & was greeted by approx. 50 blackbirds, which I fed: very entertaining.

Clean, Lots of Trees and Shade, A Safe Family Park next to the Skate Board, Tennis Courts, Ball Fields, Horse Shoe Rink. Plenty of Parking and Grass. Good Bathrooms, Tables, Fire Stands, Drinking Fountains

If you are interested in post WWII naval air weapons history, check out this small but important museum. You will likely learn something interesting from your visit.

Ridgecrest has a really nice little museum district with an air and cultural/natural history museum (Maturango Museum), and outdoor interpretative area. This is near the Kern branch library and other government offices. It is exceptionally well done for a smaller city, and they are rightfully proud of it. Yes, it avoids some of the darker underbelly of the region. No doubt! There is nothing here that would displease the local chamber of commerce, or that challenges the ideology of the colonizers of the general area. For sure, this is still a very Republican place, and they bristle at clear eyed accounts of history. For obvious reasons! But Ridgecrest is also a place becoming more "California" by the year and I expect that room for a more critical perspective on local history will have a voice here at some point. And they do have great interpretative infrastructure for the day when truths can be told here. I have hope for it!

We love this park! It's fun with lots to do! It's clean and well kept. Always friendly people here too!
