Smallcakes: Cupcakery & Creamery

My wife had been hinting at wanting to try Smallcakes for quite sometime. We live in Tustin and with the virus and different work schedules just hadn't made it out here. So, I finally did and of course by myself couldn't decide and wanted to surpise her, so I couldn't go wrong with a dozen! Right? Let me say they were ALL amazing. Moist, fresh, and lived up to the hype. However, my only downfall... she wanted carrot cake! She's never been a fan but, that's apparently her new favorite thanks to them. (I didn't know she had already tried them at a work event) They do custom cakes which we typically order for our niece and nephews bdays from local groceries stores. I saw some as they packed my order and they looked legit! Definitely earned a new customer. Thanks smallcakes!

Small cakes has always been able to accommodate any special orders that I have had. They've made custom cupcakes for all occasions. I am so grateful for the beautiful work that they put in.

They also carry pupcakes that both my dog and cat love!

Ordered a peanut butter birthday cake here and it was delicious! They helped me last minute when I called as the other place was closed for the holiday. They were friendly and polite and got me in and out in a few mins. I usually go to the el segundo location but they couldn't make me a cake in time. Thank you again.

Purchased for a retirement party. Sweet treats after a big dinner! These two bite wonders are perfect i think in lemon, almond or chocolate.

Love this shop. Ordered our fab 6 today; lemon drop, salted caramel, birthday cake, hot fudge sundae, wedding cake, and chocolate with a whipped cream frosting (amazing). So delicious and great customer service. The packaging is so pretty too.

Best cupcakes in OC. What I love: They have seasonal flavors, bigger size cupcakes, never dry - cupcakes are always moist, and they aren't full of aritificle tasting ingredients (like the strawberry has chunks of real strawberries!) Do yourself a favor and try the chocolate cream....omg it's to die for!

I’ve taken all my friends and family here to show them the best cupcake place I’ve ever been to and they all agree once they try the cupcakes here! They’re the best we’ve ever tasted. I think it just tastes so fresh and moist and never dry. The butter fillings are amazing too. The homemade ice cream here is also the best ice cream I’ve ever tasted. I recommend the strawberry cupcake and the cinnamon graham cracker ice cream (they don’t always have this ice cream in stock when I visit). My only wish would be a small change to the lemon cupcake because I’m obsessed with lemon desserts; i wish the filling was more of a gourmet filling with lemon shavings or a lemon cream instead of that “lemon gel” filling which doesn’t taste very special to me. Other than that, it’s a perfect buy every time.

Thank you Smallcakes! The succulent cupcakes were the hit of the party. Beautiful (just what I wanted) and delicious. All the ladies were talking about them and I gave out your name to many! For those reading, I sent a few photos to Zeyn and was very happy with the results. It was a small order (18) but they did 3 flavors for me: Strawberry, Lemon, and Chocolate. Yummy! Totally worth the $$$$

The best cupcakes I ever had. I eat one bit and it was Delicious not to sweet or to plain Just Perfect. The cupcake was not overcook just right on. I brought a box of 6. There were many different kinds of flavors. Definitely come back again soon!!

Today I had to go to UPS to drop something off.As I was walking out I saw someone offering cupcake samples and she offered me one so I went over and tried it.At that time she explained that they also have Ice cream so I went inside to try some. I got the 24 Karrot and the salted caramel Both were really good..She also told me about a deal on the first scoop they had going on for the weekend. The cupcake and Ice cream was very good along with the service I received. This is the first review I have ever written for any place.The funny thing is that had she not said something to me when I was walking to my car I would have never even gone in there.I had a very good experience there and I will be back!!!

Contacted the store owners beginning of the week to request a delivery. First off they worked with me, even texting me personally for my particular order. Right off the bat I loved the professional packing, not one but three stickers sealing my box. A personal message written on my box of dozen cupcakes. Both the vanilla and chocolate cake light/fluffy, and fresh. Frosting tasty and not greasy like whole foods or other cupcakes. Thought Cookies and Cream would be mediocre but turned out to be my favorite! Waiting for COVID to be over with so I can visit their Huntington Beach location, we go every summer and I always try to stop by. We need one of these spots in SF Bay Area, East Bay.

The frosting and cupcake were delicious. The person who helped me was also very nice and personable. Eating this cupcake took me from being mad at everything to having a good day.

Went there last minute after discovering Nothing bunt cakes is closed on sundays. At first I thought the price was a bit high but omg the best cupcakes I've ever tried. The Wedding cake cupcake was to die for, my daughter obsessed with the chocolate one. I will definitely be back. The staff were very professional and nice too.

The best cupcakes I have eaten. I mean sprinkles are good also but the cupcakes here are cheaper. Besides I am not driving all the way to Newport beach or by Disneyland to buy cupcakes. Why when I can go here, which is much cheaper, and taste as good. No brainer. Brand name does not mean anything. I highly recommend this place, for fresh, soft, and tastie cupcakes. YUM YUM!!!!

Smallcakes OC is the best and my most favourite cupcake shop ever! Love everything about it.

Starting from its location! Who wouldn’t love to grab a box and relax by the ocean while enjoying delicious cupcakes. I love how the store looks from the outside, extremely inviting, with it’s cute exterior! This place looks all the more adorable and gives a very cozy feeling when one goes inside. Every wall of Smallcakes is just so perfectly instagram-able!

A wide variety of cupcakes are so beautifully laid out in front of you , which makes it all the more tempting! The cake portion of the cupcake is as moist and flavourful as it can get with the frosting as perfect. I got an assorted box of 12, and I absolutely loved all the flavours, especially the chocolate cream which was so decadent, moist and sinful (but definitely worth sinning on). I wanted to truly indulge on dessert that day, so I thought I would give the “Smallcakes smash” a try, and boy I didn’t regret it one bit. It was a treat to my taste buds and a gastronomical delight. It’s a divine combination of their in house home made ice cream, sandwiched between gourmet cupcakes!

They even undertake customs orders for cupcakes, mini cupcakes and cakes. I love their cupcakes so much that I had mini pink and white cupcakes for an event during my wedding celebrations earlier and I’m going to get some for my best friends bridal shower coming up soon. To make things more exciting, they come up with a special and new cupcake creation every day of the week!

Even the packaging of the cupcake boxes is so well done! A big shoutout to their Instagram page which is always kept so interesting and always makes me eat with eyes first and then keeps me wanting to come back for more. Also Small cakes didn’t forget about your pets, who would love you all the more, for giving them their “pup cake” treats! To allow you to give into your temptations and cupcake cravings, they even bring Smallcakes to your doorstep, via Grubhub, DoorDash, Uber eats and Postmates! I love their website, which is so tastefully done, has a detailed list of their signature cupcake options and icecream flavours for you to choose from.

Last but not the least, the owners are one of the most warm, pleasant and professional people I have come across. They definitely add a personal touch to the whole Smallcakes experience.

A balanced diet is a cupcake in both hands.
Money can’t buy happiness but it can definitely buy cupcakes, and that’s pretty much the same thing!

Yes! Finally! I used to frequent Smallcakes when I lived in Texas and have since missed this place. Was just randomly driving and saw this in the distance. Almost crashed my car. So happy this is finally in California. Love the cupcakes and smallcake smash!

Got the half dozen. Will not disappoint! The lemon drop was my favorite. Had lemon curd inside the cupcake. Very cute design and professional looking cakes

Tried it for the first time today, will definitely go back. I had the carrot cake ice cream it was great, grandson had a lemon blueberry cupcake he loved it!

Try the Graham Slam ice cream... it's absolutely delicious! 👍🏼😊
