Tavern House Kitchen + Bar

We’ve been going there for over two years and it’s still the best restaurant in the town. Everything about them is top notch. Tatiana is the best and she’s so sweet. The food, drinks, and desserts are the most delicious ones. Highly recommended!

We’ve been going there for a long time. Always they were great from the food to the customer service. The food was soooo good and it was better than other restaurants around. One time before Omar served us and he was the best. Last night our server was Tatiana and she was so sweet and explained everything to us about food. One of my favorite restaurants to go to when it comes to yummy food and having a great night with my family. Highly recommended! Thank you for all your hard work!

A fabulous dinner experience in a vibrant setting near Newport Beach back bay. The set menu on Christmas Eve had wide choice for different appetite. The staff were friendly and cheerful. A top choice for family dinner.

Great spot. Great view. Nice cozy restaurant/bar with good pricing and very good food. We went for happy hour martinis, flatbread pizza and Mexican shrimp cocktail. All were perfect. Valet parking…$6 But in all fairness parking in this area is very very limited. Will definitely go back.

My sister and cousin and I were coming from a day at the beach and were looking for a restaurant that had a different selection than what the beachfront venues were offering. Found this place via Google search and was surprised, firstly, that valet was only $6! The overall pricing is compatible with their excellent service and food selection on offer and worth every penny.

The atmosphere was cozy, yet high-end in the way that you might expect a members-only club to feel. We had a booth by the window - amazing view of the waterway, sailboats, and sunset! - but we wished we had more overhead light to see our food. It was a bit too dim for our preference.

The staff here are impeccable in their service, hands down. From the valet, to the hosts, to Tatiana (our SP), to Nicki (our server), and to Paco (Le Grande Chef), everyone made this place and our experience a wonderful event. Paco even acquiesced to a request my cousin had to separate some ingredients (pepper) from her calamari starter because of her dental surgery. That was very kind of him, since we know it's a bit of faux pas to ask a chef to change their preparation of a dish.

The food - the flavors, the textures, the presentation - was AMAZING! We actually cried in wonder when we first tasted one of our other starters (Terrine of Duck Liver Mousse - this alone was worth the trip!), and again for our own individual entrées. I had the French Onion Filet Mignon with glazed/fried Brussels sprouts (read that again) and I cut it with the blunt side of my fork! It was so soft, my cousin, who had recently had her wisdom teeth removed, could just let it melt in her mouth when I let her sample it. She cried too. (We do this crying thing only in extreme happiness - rare with food outings).

Other honorable mentions: Buttered scallops with prosciutto chips, creamy polenta, and asparagus; perfectly seasoned, creamy clam chowder; tequila oyster shots; and a dessert of dark chocolate mousse torte with Cointreau (rum) cream! The aftermath of it all was that plates were scraped clean and any leftovers were put in containers with deliberate care. By the way, the Daou Cabernet Sauvignon was surprisingly not as dry as a usual cab, and had the aromatic hints of a merlot.

Safe to say I have been gushing (and humble bragging) about this place to everyone I know. Love it and would highly recommend a visit here.

Always such a great experience when we go to Tavern. The bar is my favorite place to be seated. There are TVs and a beautiful view of the ocean. John is the best bartender! He always makes sure you get the best drinks and experience while being at Tavern. Also, our server Amber was great. She took the time to talk to us about the menu and was an overall great waitress. I love to start with the shrimp and a flatbread for the table. The I got the pear and prosciutto flatbread and it was delicious! For the main course, the beef dip is amazing. Great restaurant for brunch, dinner, or drinks! I highly recommend it!

Really fun restaurant where you can eat and look at the marina.

The chicken and waffles were great. It's served with a side of gravy and super tasty. The waffles were fluffy and crispy at the same time. Blood orange mimosa was super refreshing and balanced.

We loved talking to Torri. She runs an amazing restaurant. Great service all around. Will return for dinner service next time.

Our family just had dinner at Tavern House and loved everything about it. We sat by the window and had a wonderful view. Our waitress Nori is probably the nicest server we have ever had anywhere. She gave excellent recommendations and all of the meals exceeded our expectations! We had a fantastic meal and would definitely go again. Thanks for amazing service Nori!! ❤ your Chicago friends!

Awsome food, atmosphere, service and more. Highly recommend for anyone looking for the beststeak, seafood and service in town.
The outside seating is wonderful. They were so nice to our dogs too.

It was my first time in this restaurant today and I am really impressed by everything! The service, the food, the ambiance. I sat by the bar and the server Giovanni(I think - if I heard it right) took really good care of me. He was attentive and really kind. Since it was my first time he gave me the drink OTH. The clam chowder was one of the best I had and the shrimp pasta was also delicious! I had a margarita and that also was fantastic. I will be coming here very often now until I get bored of good service and food haha

Started off slow. Found out it was only one waitress. We were ready to leave. Then she came, nice polite and with recommendations. She was on point... her name is Gwendolyn!
She was very hospitable made her was to continuously come and check on us. SHE IS THE REASON WE STAYED. Very impressed with the food choices... for brunch! Very good.

Decided to bring my in laws here for a nice lunch in Newport. We decided to have the Brussel sprouts and clam chowder as an appetizer. Definitely recommended. For lunch I had the sea bass plate, it was tasty and the fish was cooked perfectly. The view of the water and the ambiance was perfect. We really enjoyed it and definitely recommend the food and service here.

I can honestly say this is one of the best dinning experiences I have had in socal. Went to celebrate my birthday and was greeted with great service at the door from the hostess. She was extremely nice and had wonderful energy. The food was great, the drinks were amazing, and the views can not be beat! I will surely be back a couple of more times for business dinners and showing around my clients. Thank you for making my birthday worthwhile!

We go to Tavern House just to see Nori and the excellent service she provides. The food is great and so is the atmosphere. When Nori is working, be sure to get in her section because you can’t go wrong with her at the helm. 5 stars for Tavern House!

Fabulous place loved my salad,Buddha bowl and desert was amazing !On other occasions we had fish and meat dishes +and pizza.everything was top-notch. The owner Greg did an amazing job with enterier and cuisine -he is a great man that really cares for this place.
Highly recoomend it !

A beautiful new restaurant in Newport Beach with great service, ambience, and food.

The clam chowder with smoked bacon and the truffle-parmesan fries were delish. The house salad consisted of crisp, fresh mixed greens, accented with sweet pecans and a light, citrusy vinaigrette, and was quite refreshing.

My wife and I also shared the cioppino. This dish was also very tasty, athough it was not a traditional cioppino. This version was not really a soup, as the mixed shellfish and fish were, instead, slathered in a thick and savory tomato sauce. It was very flavorful, and it did not last long!

Tavern House Kitchen + Bar is a bit on the pricey side, but it is comparable to the other nice restaurants on the water in Newport Beach.

We will be back.

Wow. It was a well oiled machine from reservation, parking. Seating service and food. Views are unbelievable and most tables can enjoy. Bar looked fun. Owner(?) Chatted us up a bit, that was nice and builds good will. The happy hour menu looked great and we will try it soon. Portions were large. It was 2 meals. What a great place to celebrate an anniversary.
