The live music was awesome, it was a jazz/rock band and I didn't think I'd like it as much as I did but they were really good. The food was also very yummy, I had the ahi wraps with fries and the sriracha aioli on the wrap is my new favorite oh and the fries were probably the best I've had, I'm not sure if they all come out like that but they were crisp with a crunch without being all dried out. The candles at the tables along with the live music and the great food made it a really awesome place to eat and hang out. I'll be back soon for more.

Good place to stop in for drinks and food. This has been a local favorite for a very long time. Found this place in the early 2000's. Bartenders are awesome and all the servers are friendly.

Bar with good vibes. The deck up top was my favorite during sunset. Super pretty. The prices are very reasonable.

Quint old time spot just around the corner from the beach. Walk from sand to the best suds and food! Bartender Manny is kind, cordial, friendly and welcomes all who walk in the door! Food is awesome, calamari on point and flatbread pizzas are amazing! Stop in, you'll be pleasantly surprised!

This was way better than the good reviews. The bar was busy and the staff was on top of it. Never had to wait for service once. Jeff's service was outstanding and the food was amazing. If you're looking for an experience worth your time and money, you have to come before the live music starts or you wont find a seat. This is a local hangout with good food, drinks and music. The kitchen has a big window next to the entrance. It looked so inviting. It was worth going in. We will be back.

Great old school bar with history and a dedication to live music. The food is good but I'm not a critical complainer. I've had many good nights here and have brought first timers. Smokers love the roof. Walking distance to other bars if you like to crawl. I like places that cater to regulars, so yeah I've had to wait for a drink - I don't mind.

Great place. An old time saloon with an upstairs area and outdoor patio. Not best view but ok. Had fries which were delicious. Better than expected. Drinks were very good. Live music. The walls are decorated with A wonderful selection of old (1920s) and more current photos. Worth visiting just to look at the photos. Good drinks and food and music. Would visit again.

Have known this place since the 60's. Wow did it ever change. But it was still a great place to have a great meal, good drink. To feel you are alone with your companion. I don't know what its like in the evening, but when I was there with my son the ambions was pleasant.

We found this place by happy accident! We saw a sign that advertised live music, so we went to check it out.
We ended up on the roof having a private lunch with a view of the ocean and an Amazing bartender who brought up our beer and food with a smile!!!! I highly recommend this place for food, drink, fun and friendly service!!!! And the food was amazing!!!!

We were there last night and our group thought it was great. It was super packed and our bartender, Jeff, was amAzing. He was such an awesome server!!! I don't think I've seen anybody work that hard in a while. Thanks Jeff ❤✌

This place is an amazing! We found it by accident and the roof top view is perfect place for sun set pictures. The bar staff (John) is awesome and if you want great grub, this is a hidden gem. The Ahi Avacado is absolutely to die for!
Will definitely be back anytime I am in Newport.

I went there once. I was sober at the time. The bartender thought I was an ABC agent! I have to say as a 40 year old man who went to The University (U.Va.) and where frats started (and The U of Miami - Ohio) ... The Blue Beet is my FAVORITE bar. Go there before you die. On the top you can see the waves.

I love Orange County.... beautiful women... awesome waves..... white sand beaches with bonfires... don't ever cross the Mississipp! I love California!!!

Great for late night food. They have a taco window and delish street tacos. It’s always packed !

Bartender was really nice. Music upstairs was ridiculously loud, and he stopped what he was doing to help out and turn it down.

Every time I go there from the moment I enter till the end great service Nick, Paul, Stephanie and JJ are the best by far.
The drinks are great priced and good quality not to mention that they don’t skimp on the alcohol the food is bomb as well I think we’ve ordered every appetizer there and I have nothing bad to say about any of the it, it comes out hot and delicious
5/5 in my book highly encourage going there

Love the The Blue Beet.

It's one of the must-go-to spots of the circle (of fun bars) in the heart of the Peninsula bar scene. The Beet happens to be one of the oldest (if not the oldest) bars on the Peninsula too, built in the early 1900s I think. It's got a lot of Character to it; Cool bar. 3 stories with the top level being an outside patio that overlooks (yes, a little bit of buildings too but mainly) the ocean & Newport Pier. 2nd level is cool too w views overlooking the bar area & stage where bands play...

Their food is great - actually, I think it's gotten better over time. And although it is a pain-in-the-@ss for the servers - you can order food on the patio & middle level as well. So, you'll get full service upstairs but just know - those servers have to run up & down those stairs every single time U/someone/anyone orders a drink, an appetizer, full 10 top (10 ppl) order... &Run up/down each & Everytime.
I don't work there. &Im glad I don't have to run up/down those stairs. All I'm saying is, be considerate when ordering full menu on the patio. Sending yr server up/down the stairs 5 times in a row bcuz U ordered a drink, then yr like U forgot to ask for, then the ranch you want more if for yr fries... All great & normal but just remember yr server isn't just steo'n around the corner to grab yr ketchup. (Sorry, I used to be a waiter many years ago).

Don't forget! After the bar closes & there's young hot fun &/or drunk'erds everywhere, Rt outside the Blue Beet window, they sell tacos! Tacos & burritos. Limited yet amazingly marinated, authentic Mexican tacos & burritos! So after ye nice & "slightly buzzed" head outside & grab some awesome tacos.

Also, Hence the name, The Blue Beet, they have live music every weekend & even some week nights. Idk when those nights are but on top of that, that have dinner specials throughout the week to give company to that (hopefully) soothing &/or cool bar band :-). ...Most of the time the music has been great. Impressive on many occasions too but still, ya nevvvver know what yr guna get sometimes so if you want to prepare, I think they have their band schedules posted somewhere online or at the bar.

Sheeeeit - I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that I've allllways enjoyed their stiff pour. Ya might not get one Evvvery sine time & certainly not if yr an obnoxious entitled, possibly annoying, already-drunk Yahoo, but usually I'm very happy with the pour of the drinks I've been blessed to enjoy at the Blue Beet...... at the Beach, in Southern CA, spit'n distance to the ocean, with eye-candy that you simply cannot find in many other places of the entire world aaaand, did I mention Newport Beach is just Fkn awesome to hang out in, walk around & enjoy food & drinks at all kinds of awesome different bars any which way you came to be here!?
