Went out for whale watching unfortunately no whales but an awesome bartender by the name of Jeff! This place rocks great atmosphere and awesome drinks and service from one bartender to another thanks Jeff for making the time worth while. And by the way if you like pickled eggs my friend Brett said they have the best. Thanks!! Max

Reminded me of the bad boys club in SpongeBob. I loved the doorman, a tough guy but a sweetheart. The mentally ill bartender’s teeth were on the border of falling out and he seemed to hate his life. He got his sweaty fingers in my drinks and served me the wrong ones. I loved it. A down under vibe for sure.

Awesome bar. Great service from the bar tender. Awesome place to get a frew drinks. Not badly priced either. 10/10

I used to work there in the early 90s cleaning up the place in the mornings. It was a great place then, and always has been throughout the years. I have some great memories that I will never forget.

Not our first time in Balboa Saloon, but definitely our most memorable. Today is my husband’s birthday so we stopped in for a beer after a long bike ride. Jeff and the other patrons absolutely made my husband’s day. Such kindness and so many laughs our cheeks hurt. Thank you Jeff for being such an amazing human and the tower of “gifts” we lugged home. See ya next week 😉.

This is the best bar in Newport Beach Jeff and Roddy are amazing bartenders. Love the place love the people great crowd of locals everyone is always super nice I don't drink too much anymore but when I do this is one of the two only places I enjoy thanks to the great staff

Best bartender ever! Love the atmosphere and clientele. Not everyday you walk in a bar and everyone is so cool and happy. Felt like I was a regular my first time walking in this joint.

No food to eat other than on Wednesdays the bartender Jeff brings his own food and he has been there for I think 30 years great pool tables right near the fun zone great pizza place right around the corner

Great Time and Cold Beer !!

This friendly corner bar is a great place to watch the game, play some pool, and drink a beer. The bartenders were friendly and the regulars were sociable.

Awesome bar with a perfect beachy Newport feel. Large inside with pool tables and darts. Went there almost every night we were there.

Wow walked in and Instantly felt like a local. Never a bad time or experience when you're down at the beach. Stop in say hi and have a drink or two.
