Fox Rent A Car Orange County

I had a great experience with Fox! I rented directly through the Fox website and got a fantastic rate - easily 1/3 of the competitor's prices. I was a little worried about being haggled with up-selling at pickup, but no such thing happened. I did double-check with my personal insurance to make sure I'd be covered in case of an accident, and printed out all my documents so I was prepared. The vehicle provided was a lot larger than expected (I reserved a compact SUV and received a huge Toyota 4Runner) - but I would much prefer this than the other way around. I ended up really enjoying the Toyota! Customer service was excellent from start to finish; even the shuttle driver was friendly and the shuttle was a clean, elite Suburban. Thanks Fox!

I was honestly very happy with my rental, the guy at the front counter was very helpful and even got us an upgrade to a 2021 red Jeep Wrangler that was freakin awesome. it was very affordable for a week and will rent again for sure.

Planning a visit to Orange County for Mother’s Day, I researched auto rental options in the area. I selected FOX RENT A CAR as the prices and availability best met my needs. This was my first time using FOX but it will most definitely NOT be my last. What an extremely efficient process from pick up to drop off! I waited only minutes for the shuttle service upon arrival as well as for my return to the airport. My vehicle was super clean, odor free and ran smoothly! I also appreciate the timeliness and efficiency in email communication. The final cost was accurate and even slightly LESS than the projected cost! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOX RENT A CAR!

Reserved an SUV..none was available. Provided a full size..which was fine by me. Had to wait on the shuttle a little longer than I expected but overall was a easy process. Employees were nice.

Fox's location is not at the airport, but the ride is driving down some 4-lane business district roads, and it was all right hand turns to get there which was about 7 minutes. The modest van was comfortable, and the staff were all friendly. The car was in very good condition, and all of the cars on the lot looked really good. I wasn't in that big of a rush to pay larger fees for the convenience of location.

Everything about Fox rent a Car OC was excellent. I picked it up in 6 minutes! The SUV was in clean condition & it was so comfy & made my trip to Vegas the best. Lastly returning my vehicle took 2 whole minutes which was like icing on the cake which was much appreciated. Will always come back to rent from Fox!

I know some have bad car rental experiences (at any car rental company/location really—it is sometimes just part of the industry unfortunately) but I had a great experience here. Their price was the better than any others I could find in the area. They upgraded me for free. When I declined their insurance because of my travel credit card, they did not push me at all.

They encouraged I get the fuel through them on returning and said it was cheaper, and it was indeed—30 cents cheaper per gallon than I saw anywhere else in my whole time out there. If I were you I would just say how much gas you want them to charge to for fill up—instead of saying a full tank, maybe say that you will have them fill a half tank when you return, just depends on how much you anticipate to use. The shuttle did take a little bit of time (10-15 minutes) to get there when we arrived to the airport, but it was quick on our departure heading back to the airport to go home. Service was good from the front desk to the shuttle drivers to the guy we returned the car to.

The standard deposit that was charged on rental was very quickly returned to my account after we returned the car in good condition.

Reading the bad reviews of this place had me reconsidering renting through Fox, but the price was more than reasonable so I took a chance. I'm very glad I did! Our plane landed in SNA around 8pm, and we followed the directions in our rental confirmation email to be at the ground transportation rental car Island for the shuttle pick up. We waited for about 7 mins before a shuttle arrived. When we got to Fox, no one was in line. They told us that our midsize car that I reserved was not available, but they could upgrade us to a van for FREE (Toyota Sienna). Granted they didn't have my reserved vehicle, but I think a van is a pretty sweet upgrade. We were out of there by 8:30pm.
When we returned the vehicle, we were told to just drop the car and they'll handle the rest. The airport shuttle van was also there to take us right away. The car return process took maybe 30 secs.
I'd like to mention that the airport shuttle is about a 7 min ride one way.
I'd recommend Fox to anyone and had a fantastic experience. I'll rent from them again.

Don't let the inexpensive price fool you, the vehicle was clean and new; also the customer service was stellar! A short 15 min wait from John Wayne Airport for the shuttle, quick 4min drive to Fox where there was no wait and I was out with my 2022 Toyota 4Runner in less than 10 min. The return was even faster, as soon as I pulled in the inspector was there within minutes and I was in the shuttle headed back in less than 7 min. Thank you Fox, we will definitely use you again!

I reserved nonrefundable camry or similar size car for 24 nights. The shuttle was right in the transportation area and did not get any problems. The man in the front desk was very friendly. Insurance we chose is liability exemption and costs around $14 a day. The man who brought the car was very gentle and very nice, who seems to be ready to do anything he can do. We were confused about how we go to the hotel and he guides via google map one by one. Return process was very smooth and the deposit was returned fully. I was worried by reading the reviews but absolutely no problem and will use fox rent car in Santa Ana again.

Reza had excellent customer service. Even when I witnessed some one was loudly not happy they were going to have to wait. He politely asked if I minded waiting and that the next car was definitely worth the wait.
He also did a great job trying to upsale me on all the other services offered. Unfortunately, for him I'm a tightwad.

I was super nervous that something was going to go wrong after reading reviews for this place. But to my surprise it was a great experience and I would totally recommend them to anyone. The prices alone are unbeatable!! We found the shuttle at the airport right away. We arrived at fox and got our car reservation upgraded to something newer for only $10 more per day. Jacqueline was incredibly helpful. When returning the car we just had to drop it off and unloaded our stuff in the awaiting shuttle to take us back to the airport. It was all so simple and didn’t cost an arm and a leg. I’ll be using them again for sure.

Always a great car for a great price! Shuttle driver was wonderful and quite helpful with all of my bags. So close to SNA, I turned in my rental and was dropped off at curbside check-in quickly which was SO much easier than using another company on airport property and hauling my bags to check-in. Super convenient 👌

We had a wonderful experience. Our car was very new and clean. Staff was friendly and willing to help. Pick-up and drop-off was very quick and easy. The shuttle to and from the airport was only about a 5 minute ride. I highly recommend using Fox Car rental in Orange County.

We had to change airports at the last minute from LAX to John Wayne due to a 7 hr delay in flight. The Fox rental return is off site so the return agent quickly drove us in the rental to the gate just in time. Thanks

Better than expected given the reviews, but you are getting what you pay for here. And that is what I signed up for when I was saving about 35% off competitors which is why I still gave 5 stars.

This is an off airport location, while many other SNA rentals are in the terminal. The Fox shuttle runs regularly, but you will likely be waiting at least 10-15 minutes.

There was one employee working at the rental desk when I arrived and the line had about 3 customers in front of me, about a 25 minute wait. The typical upsells were offered but in a polite way and no issues when I declined.

They were out of the vehicle I reserved and offered a downgrade to a smaller car while trying to position it as an upgrade "with better gas mileage." I declined, and they offered a slightly larger vehicle which was fair. It was a newer base model 4Runner with 14k miles and in good shape, except it had no wiper fluid.

When I left there were more customers waiting, maybe 10 in line, and I bet some of them waited over an hour for their car.

Return was smooth and friendly, no unexpected charges or hassles.

If you are in a hurry or are impatient I would pay extra to rent on airport. If you care about how "nice" the shuttle is (that you ride for 5 minutes) or how attractive the company's building is, pay more and rent on airport. If you are looking for a good deal on a rental car and are willing to put up with some delays and a basic off airport location that is a bit understaffed you should be fine renting here.

Great Service and fast when both picking up and dropping off. The size car we reserved (smaller SUV) wasn't available when we got there but they upgraded to a larger size SUV at no extra cost.
Very easy, friendly agents, and a comfortable safe car. We will definitely rent with them again!

I wasn't sure due to bad ratings of Fox Rent A Car on other location. I found the Santa Ana location to be one of the best car rental experiences I had. Not to mention the money I saved by renting with Fox. The pickup and drop off experience were good. On my return they even dropped me off individually as the shuttle was going to be a little bit late. I will be for sure using Fox rental for my future trip to Orange County, specifically Santa Ana

For a great rate and an effortless experience, Fox is the best kept secret when needing a rental car. A slight inconvenience having to shuttle to their facility off airport property, it’s a small inconvenience that is quickly forgotten once you’ve experienced the great rates and friendly staff.
