Pixar Pal-A-Round – Swinging

What happens when you cross a Pirate ship style ride with a ferris wheel? The answer is Pixar Pal Around. I was excited to try this ride especially when I watched how the swinging cars would follow a U shaped track depending upon its height.

My husband wanted to ride the non swinging car and I went with the swinging car. Oddly enough although both lines were long we managed to get on at the same time with his car being in front of me.

I sat on one side with two women who offered to take my picture on the ride. There isn't anything to strap you in but once you get going you actually do swing up and back much like the Pirate ship. Hang on for the time of your life. Another interesting observation was since I was in the swinging car I never knew when we reached the top as our car dipped downward. I had no idea how many loops we took but before we knew it the ride was over.

I asked my husband how he enjoyed the non swinging car and he told me it was like a traditional Ferris wheel where you can get good sights of the park and the area surrounding it.

The choice is yours-take the non swinging car and ride like a Ferris Wheel or take the swinging car and have the time of your life.

Everyone who's into ferris wheels should try the swinging gondola. It's like being into two rides in one. The views are amazing and you'll enjoy being onboard for a reasonable amount of time.

My daughters loved this! I didn't care for the swinging car but my daughters sure did! The view was amazing from up that high! Loaded and unloaded much faster than a regular ferris wheel!

A rose by any other name. I know they've changed the name now, but this ride still offers classic ferris wheel views. Watch out for (or make sure you get if that's your thing) the sliding cages. Nice views of the park, neighboring Disneyland, and Anaheim.

This is 5 stars based solely on the views! You can go for a old school fixed basket or one which swings and moves as the wheel rotates. Either way you'll love the views of California Adventure and time it rights and the lights make everything even more magical.

It really is like two rides in one, the ferris wheel portion (duh) and kinda like a...mini pirate ship. At one point it looks like your gondola is about to go right off into the lake in the center of the whole section of this theme park, but it was a great experience.

However, I would not recommend this ride to anyone who has a fear of heights (it's a ferris wheel), motion sickness (the constant swinging could cause discomfort for some people), or people who like to take in the view or take photos (I'd recommend the non-swinging version). Still managed to get a decent shot overlooking this section of the park.

Great classic ferris wheel ride with optional swinging gondola or stationary. Great vantage point to see most of DCA and the surrounding area.

Cool Ferris wheel that allows a great view of the park. Ride at sunset for a great view and make sure to pick the swinging carts for extra fun 😁

Nice and high, and you have your choice of a regular Ferris wheel car, or one that moves back and forth on some long rails (kind of thrilling actually when it gets going at heights).

Super fun. You get to go around twice and it’s really fun to be on the moving ones that swing up and down.

You have two ferris wheel type experiences.

One is the traditional sitting in the cage while the wheel spins around.

The second is not for the faint of heart as it slides around as the ferris wheel spins. You will definitely rolls around and swing as the wheel spins bottom to top and back down again.

Long wait but worthy. The view on the top is fabulous. Although the swing is kinda scary for me lol

This is a one of a kind farris wheel! Not only do they have swinging gondolas, they also have non swinging gondolas. I did the swinging Gondola and it was scary when you are going very fast it felt like we were going to fall off of the track, which we didn't! Very entertaining!

I'll admit, I was too nervous to ride it. My wife and daughter went, though.

It is an interesting wheel, and you'll have a great view of the Paradise Pier.

Who knew a ferris wheel could be scary? If you opt into the swinging gondolas, you're in for a thrill. If it ends up being too thrilling that you turn ill, there's thankfully sickness bags tucked next to the seats. Otherwise, the stationary gondolas offer a beautiful view of the park at the very top of the wheel.

The view from the wheel is great. The carriage swings and roles around too if you like some thrill. This adds exciting twist to a standard ferris wheel. With other rides in Disneyland having long lines with a short ride, this longer time span attraction is definitely worth the wait.
