My favorite is the Nico coffee sooo good. Nico #3 would be perfect with a splash of tequila! The avocado toast is perfectly prepared and I will come back!

I've only been to Hopper & Burr twice, both experiences were great and in considerably different ways, sending the shop straight to the list of my favorite coffee shops in OC.

When I first visited Hopper & Burr, I was impressed by its bright, slick, and simple space. Lots of light and air between the big windows, high ceilings, and white walls, and just a couple of details so that the place doesn't look sterile. The coffee counter, which has only the bare minimum of equipments, extends to the sitting area as a bar with wide counter space. I had a Litmus, a tasing flight that is beautifully presented and tastes excellent. I also enjoyed the avocado toast, the sourdough was extra crunchy and the pancetta made it extra tasty.

I had thought Hopper & Burr is a minimalist coffee shop that pours a good cappuccino, then I discovered their understated seasonal menu during my second visit. Nothing about the menu screams I'm special!, not even the prices, but I immediately knew when I got the Cavendish. Instead of a generic flavored latte that I had expected, the banana milk espresso drink is a meticulously garnished mocktail with a creamy, slightly foamy, almost sparkly texture. I've never had something like that.

Later I had a Horchata Slushie for a second round. This time the name is self-explanatory but it led me to another discovery. Different drinks at Hopper & Burr are served in different vessels: collins, rocks, sundae glasses, even something that looks like an Easter Island head sculpture. The amount of creativity and attention to details in these drinks contrast starkly with the modest way they are introduced and the shop's casual atmosphere. In a market where special drinks are often gimmicks, copy cats, or not so special at all, Hopper & Burr's unassuming creations are the real deal.

Two visits in two months obviously don't make me a regular, but the small and stable team already looks familiar to me. Everyone behind the bar looks happy and proud of what they serve, yet never overly so. I can't wait for the next visit.

espresso tonic : new experience -> surprised how well they get along

Avocado toast : thumbs up. I might have been too sensitive, but the food was kinda hard to cut(burnt a little). I asked if the food is like that or maybe it is overcooked. They kindly remade one for me and it tasted good.
If they didn’t remade it for me I would give 4stars but now I wanna add one more star on top of 5

I had high expectations coming into Hopper & Burr based on the syrup making and seasonal drink content from their IG. It's the perfect sun-light corner coffee shop to enjoy a "for-here" craft drink. The atmosphere is quite aesthetic - minimal, clean, but in a well-loved building space. The menu is well curated, and balanced between classic staples and summer specials, some food, and alc. I ordered the slushy latte and it was a perfectly light cold drink for a hot summer day. Sprinkled with a bit of cinnamon and adorned with a long silly straw, it wasn't taking itself too seriously. I'll be back.

My friend took me to Hopper and Burr after we hit the trail. I got the frozen sweet latte and avocado toast and my friend got the cola and avocado toast. Everything was delicious! The avocado toast comes on bread thats thick and soft but also really crunchy. They put a soft boiled egg on top and it really is super tasty. The frozen sweet latte was not overly sweet and really hit the spot. The cola is tonic water with espresso and while that sounded out there to me, it was also super tasty. There's a fair amount of seating and the inside is very airy with lots of natural light. So good for a morning out.

Clean, austere, elegant, minimalist. The space seems more like a museum than most coffee shops. The barista likewise, more like an expert curator. And the coffee was up to snuff, well made and totally delicious.

I think that this is the best coffee place in the area. They froth their milk very well, serve various roasters, serve pretty good pastries (flaky croissants and good chocolate chip cookies).

White / Minimalistic GOALS !!!

It's so beautiful in here and the baristas are so nice! I got a vanilla latte and loved it. They were even kind enough to customize it for me. It's a great space to work, the only downside is the 2 hour parking. But today is a holiday so parking is free :) We've been working here for a few hours and loved it.

Food: visually amazing and super tasty!
Coffee: perfection, I had the iced latte on a 95 degree day and it didn’t disappoint
Service: great friendly team that knows everyone by their first name! Also some solid beard action so you know they know their coffee and food😂

Been there a number of times. A barista at a favorite and most trusted coffee spot recommended them when discussing shockingly consistent coffee. Coffee matches specialty coffee expectations if not exceeding them. Their coffee drink range is a bit more extensive than other shops given the inclusion of drinks like espresso tonics. That is notable because not all shops make them. Hopper and Burr apparently also makes their own tonic water , which is quite extra in my mind. That said, they offer many drinks and items that are quite extra from rather delicious looking food items to wine and beer. Pretty interesting for a coffee shop.

If you are a coffee aficionado, Hopper and Burr has THE most delicious espresso drinks, made with raw, grass fed whole milk or homemade almond milk. The cappuccino I ordered was perfectly balanced. Best in OC!

Amazing atmosphere and coffee. Came out of my way to try an espresso here and was not disappointed.

I started to make espresso at my house and wanted to grab some beans here. Had a double shot espresso and realized how great an espresso can taste when prepared in an expert way.

I highly recommend coming here for coffee and a snack.

Best espresso in the area. Beats out Kean, Hidden House, Bodhi, Hola Adios, Storico, etc. This spot is the real deal.

I always love the coffee here. H & B has a few tasty food options too, but not a "go-to" place for a meal.

Atmosphere is weirdly white and clean -- antiseptic. Still, it is a good place to empty your email backlog or get some work done.

Appears too be always uncrowded.

Pretty nice place. Very minimalist, but good amount of seating, and the bar has outlets for computers. Espresso was delicious too, they don't do syrup drinks and only have whole and house made almond milk.

Our favorite coffee shop in Santa Ana. Great service, delicious coffee.
Guava pastries are great & always gotta have an undertow.

Such an awesome coffee place!
It has a very simplistic and minimalist look and vibe, even the menu is simple.
The coffee and espresso are freshly ground and made to order, which makes it taste waaaay better than a corporate coffee place (and there's one right up the street, lol). The friendly staff makes the vibe as good as their coffee.
I'd definitely recommend their mocha which is always my go-to choice for a hot beverage. I also had an espresso shot which was so strong I think I grew extra hairs on my chest!
I will be returning more sooner than later. 👍
