Dr Nemetz is amazing and after stumping 4 different vets, my cockatiel finally was able to get some answers! I also learned a TON of information after just one visit. Extremely grateful I was referred to The Bird Clinic. Also, Anabelle is amazing and super kind and made the experience so nice! 10000009483929/10 would recommend this place! But keep in mind, quality care means the price will be higher than you may be used to (which is the case with human medicine as well). I noticed the low ratings for this place are related to client finances and not the actual quality of care which, I believe, is totally unfair towards this place. If you cannot afford to give a pet quality care, do not be irresponsible. Wait until you CAN to get a pet. It’s the same concept with having kids. I have to say that Dr. Nemetz is amazing. He’s done a fantastic job of taking care of our Conure Rory these past six years. Six years ago, Rory broke his beak, and Not only was he able to modify the break, so that Rory could eat and breathe again, but he has managed the condition of his beak keeping him healthy ever since.

Dr Nemetz was really nice, I've no idea what the other reviews are talking about. He took his time explaining each step of the check up and even some extra things. He was also very polite to the office staff, which is always a plus. Most importantly, he took excellent care of my babies. He's very knowledgeable and I know my birds are in good hands. His services are expensive but so are ALL medical services! No complaints at all on my end :)

As other reviews have stated, this is the absolute best place to bring your birds. I drive almost and hour to bring my birds here. Dr. Nemetz knows exactly what’s he’s doing, shares as much knowledge with you at every appointment, and so incredibly skilled at handling my two sun conures. He explains everything in detail, anatomy, different tests he offers, the importance of a good avian diet, and diseases. He has made time to call me and explain results from tests and also to check on my birds after receiving treatment, which I appreciate so much. The environment is professional, organized and clean. Mandy, the vet is also so nice and helpful. What a great team. I will continue to come here for as long as I have birds!

Took my conure here and omg the doctor was amazing ! The front staff was so professional it was a great experience. Little story bought my bird from a breeder who burnt his crop with doctors recommendations my baby is healing and is expected to make a quick recovery. Hand down best avian doctor now he’s our go to !

Very informative during appointments and cares about your bird's safety and well being. Ask questions if you are unsure of anything and you'll learn a lot. It's a safe space to get clarity about things you didn't realize you were doing wrong and get confirmation on what you are doing right. Highly recommend the Bird Clinic to keep you bird's health in check annually. If there is an illness or health concern, Dr. Nemetz is my first choice to figure out the right diagnosis and treatment. So grateful for his avian expertise and kind staff.

The doctor is very knowledgeable. I first went to the bird doctor nearer to my house which was in Rancho Cucamonga. One of our canaries broke his leg so we were told by Alta Rancho that the bird was gonna die and they couldn't do anything so we had to put him to sleep. A week or 2 later We took our other canary in to the Bird Clinic because the same thing happened from the aluminum band. The bird vet was very professional and helped with everything! Blood tests medicine and even nutrition recommendations. I feel like our other bird could've been saved if we brought him here! But still grateful our canary is still alive and healthy thanks to the BIRd clinic!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM for all your bird needs. He has many canaries of his own and is very professional

Our fid “Artemas” was a hours away from leaving us. We could see his life rapidly leaving his body. It was a day of panic and despair that my wife and I will never forget. All Dr. Nemetz did was save our baby’s life. Dr. Nemetz knows and truly cares for birds of all types. He made it clear within minutes of us getting Artemas checked in that Artemas was his client, not me, not my wife. He is direct, frank and he will scold you if you do something you shouldn’t be doing with your bird. On the other hand there is the Dr. Nemetz who truly cares for his clients. He personally hand fed, medicated and monitored our bird during business hours then at 10PM and then again at 6AM, seven days a week for five weeks. So the reviews from people who think the know more about parrots than a man who has dedicated his life to caring for these creatures or want to those who walk in and want to buy formula from what is essentially a bird hospital are laughable. If you think you know more, treat your bird yourself. Wait, please don’t, you will cause it’s demise. Additionally, if you need bird formula, go to Petsmart, Petco, Omar’s or other bird-specific stores, they have hand-feeding syringes there too. If you want a Veterinarian that has decades of experience and will do his best to care for your bird, visit Dr. Nemetz.

Dr Nemetz is one in a billion. He is no ordinary doctor. I am forever grateful for what he did for my bird, Saboon. Thank you!

Dr. Nemetz is very clearly educated in his field. He's knowledgeable, kind and makes one feel at ease. He explains everything thoroughly and gives the best recommendations he can. His staff are much the same, attentive and kind.
My pigeon was checked out in a jiffy and I came out feeling reassured he had received only the best care. :) Will be recommending to friends and family.

we have a sanctuary 'PDS non-profit Sanctuary', and we love and we respect Dr. He is the Best Doctor. He is bless for our birds and us . He saved our many birds. God Bless Him always and forever

You do NOT want to take your birds anywhere else!

We in SoCal are so fortunate to live so close to one of, if not THE best avian vets in the country.  Dr. Nemetz has been at the forefront and led advancements in avian medicine for decades. You can find a tremendous amount of info online about that so I'll let you see that for yourself.

I've been taking my birds to Dr. N. for over 15 years.  He provides the highest level of care, diagnostics, and has access to the most advanced technology. Other vets that treat birds can't even come close to what he can do and I've met a few that can even misdiagnose your bird due to lack of expertise and that can be deadly.

Not only does Dr. N. have the credentials, but he genuinely cares about the health of your birds. Now, he may not have the best bedside manner and can be a bit brash, but never mean. He is nice, just straightforward and honest. So if you're sensitive about that, I'd sincerely recommend putting that aside for the well being of your birds. He will not do you wrong.

Dr. N's prices are fair for what he does.  I don't think anyone would want to go to the cheapest doctor for their own care, and I certainly wouldn't for my birds.  I can tell you from personal experience that his top priority is the health of your birds, and NOT money.  There are many times where he could have done tons of additional tests and diagnostics but took the sensible, affordable route when it made sense.  Medical care is expensive, folks, you just feel it more when insurance isn't covering it.

Dr. Nemetz is good people. I am so thankful for him, he saved my bird's life and I wouldn't take my feathered kids anywhere else!

My little conure Cali received excellent treatment with Dr. Nemetz and Mandy. Do not take your bird anywhere else or you will regret it like we did. Be prepared for significant, but necessary dietary changes.

Dr Nemetz is amazing with the birds and is very nice. My bird burned her eye and he fixed her right up and gave me tons of advice as far as nutrition, handling/taming, etc. Worth the price for avian care. Not many places treat birds so this place is great

Dr. Nemetz saw my African Grey about 8 years ago. She had an egg break inside of her and was bleeding badly. Dr. Nemetz stayed late for us to get there and took care of her right away. After he fixed her up, she recovered well, but continued to lay eggs and had issues with continued bleeding each time. He performed a hysterectomy on her, and its been 8 years and the bird is as healthy as can be. Along the way, I did not feel pressured or lured to do the next procedure. He was extremely knowledgeable and shared X-Ray's of other birds with similar problems with me. He was very matter of fact about the problem, the options and the costs involved. I am sure that my parrot would have died 8 years ago if it was not for him and I am just as sure that 99 out of 100 other vets would not have been able to do the procedure he did on my bird. Thank you Dr. Nemetz!

Took our new baby to see Dr. Nemetz and while I was prepared for trauma (how could a blood draw be anything but with a baby conure?), I was nothing but impressed. Somehow throughout the entire physical exam and blood draw my bird was relaxed and comfortable and no angry squawks or peeps were heard. Baby bird even kept trying to follow the doc out of the room. This is clearly a place where birds are cherished and I think they know it. The doctor took plenty of time to answer all our questions and make sure we were on good footing with our responsibility as new bird owners. Glad to have such a fantastic avian vet so close to home.

Dr. Nemetz is the top bird expert alive. He saved my bird Moby who was laying herself to death with eggs. He helped me get her to lose weight, as she was severely obese at that point. He removed a cyst off her eye area. That was a year back. I had a male conure mate for her for 12 years and had to make the difficult decision to rehome him. Nemetz spoke to me twice to give me the advice and help me make the best decision for all birds. If you are desperate for help and are reading this to evaluate if you should see Nemetz, I say yes. When I went to a bird store, there was a lady getting her 26 year old bird groomed and then someone else mentioned Nemetz is their vet and then we were all in a polite fight about our birds being patients at his office and who has been going there the longest, etc. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Dr. Nemetz is the best. I have taken my parrots to him for over 20 years. My first visit he discovered a large wound that needed surgery. He stayed with my parrot overnight to make sure he would be ok. He even made a custom cast when my parakeet broke her leg.

He really is the best. He trains interns, teaches seminars to other veterinarians, and has written many papers on procedures he has developed. His clinic is spotless. The staff members are friendly.

He is a little more expensive. But you get what you pay for. He is the best. And to those who think he is rude...the only times I have seen him be even slightly rude is when he thinks a pet is not being taken care of properly by the owner. I can tell he cares about my parrots and goes the extra mile to make sure they live long, healthy, and happy lives.

We used to be able to afford Dr Nemetz's services but can no longer so we use a more inexperienced vet and hope for the best for all our birds. I personally believe that Dr Nemetz is one of the best in the country. All though I don't like what he charges, I'm not privy to his expenses so I really cant fault him for his rates. I know that he is extremely dedicated to doing everything he can for any bird brought in there. We lost our blue front amazon about 6 years ago to a fungus condition and I know how much Dr Nemetz went out of his way to try and save him. I willl always be grateful!

18 years ago we found a young very sick Mourning Dove in our back yard. It was our good fortune that we found Dr. Nemetz. Jesse has been with us since then and Dr. Nemetz has been wonderful. This includes a major surgery when Jesse ingested some toxic metal. Highly recommend!
