Sequoia National Park is a true gem of the Sierra Nevada, where towering sequoia trees and stunning mountain scenery create a magical atmosphere unlike anywhere else. Walking among these ancient giants is an awe-inspiring experience that fills you with a sense of reverence for the natural world. The park offers a variety of trails for all skill levels, from leisurely strolls among the trees to challenging hikes with breathtaking vistas.
For future visitors, I highly recommend taking the time to explore the General Sherman Tree, the largest living tree on Earth, and marvel at its sheer size and majesty. Additionally, don't miss the opportunity to drive through the famous Tunnel Log, a fallen sequoia that you can actually drive your car through—an experience that's both exhilarating and unique.

Wow! We knew we’d love seeing these spectacular trees but seeing them in person is so different. Take the time to come see them! The trails we did were easy and well marked. We came in mid May when the crowds weren’t crazy. Perfect weather!

This place is just ridiculously beautiful. The trees are absolutely massive, as expected. The trails are well-kept. The shuttle is semi useful but it's not enough for how busy the park can get. The parking lots are very busy and people park all over the roads. Still, this doesn't take away from how amazing this park is. Just show up around 6am to beat a lot of the crowds.

It’s a really nice place to be with families and friends. So peaceful and relaxing place, most of the trails are not involved so much walking, so kids friendly. I missed a lot of especially the fresh and clean air! Definitely the place to be visiting every year!

Beautiful park with majestic Giant Sequoia trees and panoramic views. Despite the devastating wildfire several years ago, many of the Sequoias are alive and well. In some areas you can see that the fire passed through the ancient groves, but many trees withstood the fire.

This place was amazing! Seeing the floor of clouds that stretch across the mountains when you get to an elevation of 6,000 ft is breathtaking! The Sequoia's are massive!! It was a real treat for me and my family to be able to witness. Even the drive through the mountains to get there is beautiful! I would recommend this destination to anyone who enjoys nature and beautiful landscapes.

Arrived at the Entrance Station at 8 am, no waiting. Visited the General Sherman Tree first. Then did the Congress trail, a easy walk about 2 miles. Did also the Big Trees trail, just a little more than a mile. The trees are gigantic, enormous. The road is twist and there was delay due to road repairs.

I wish I could give 10 stars! I'm blown away by the beauty of this place. Waited a long time to see these magnificent trees. Glad we took the trip in the winter because it was a wonderland of snow and ice. My dream came true to hike through the great sequoias!

This was a beautiful place to visit it was snowing when we visited & 37°.
Snow chains are required install them on your vehicle before you visit to test so it's done with ease latter on site at 5000 ft or so .
They do sell snow chains on site but it's good to have a set before you arrive just in case they are sold out .
In the summer this will not be a concern.
Call ahead certain parts of the park you may want to visit sometimes close for the winter .
Be very careful where you take your pictures some of these places can be dangerous .
Hope you enjoy it as much as me & my daughter did ❤

One of the best family vacations we had. Didn't realize how huge this national park is! But it was beyond worth the 4 hour drive from our hotel to see those magnificent giants! You won't get through this national park. Took us all day to her half way through. But it was just scene after scene of amazing breathtaking natural beauty! 😍

I am considering a visit during the summer, although I tend to find myself there during the winter season. It is undoubtedly a destination worth experiencing! The majestic towering trees, with their age-old presence, are sure to leave a lasting impression.

The curvy climb entering the park brings you to some of the most amazing trees you'll ever see. This park wasn't as busy as Yosemite or the Grand Canyon, and it offers something just as unique.

I had an amazing experience. Enjoyed a little bit of everything they should probably consider doing reservations it does get very, very crowded.

Beautiful, arrive early, there’s a one lane restriction for about 200 meters around an hour inside the park (entering from Foothills) so plan accordingly (as of late May 2024)

Man what a great experience. Getting away from city noise, buildings, cell phone service, it was great. Followed a river that we heard from our campground and ended up finding a cool wooden bridge (a little sketchy). Also took home a natural souvenir of a bird’s beak that was stuck into a piece of bark I miraculously found. Deer walked right through campsite one morning. Great National Park!

God is great. They are way different than the pictures you see they are massive and thick. The road there was breathtaking and the snow made a contrast between the trees. General Sherman tree is a must to stop by. It’s a bit icy to get to that tree. Almost slipped. This is definitely the place you want to spend time with family. The 35$ fee is worth it.

This national park preserves the iconic Sequoia trees. The park begins in the mountain foothills and ends up above 6,000' where sequoias grow to immense heights. Four of the five largest trees in the world are in the same area of the park. There are a few visitors centers, but the largest is at the top of the park the Lodgepole one which also comes with a large museum area and souvenirs. Buying from the lodge across the street means your money won't go directly to the park so buy from visitor centers directly. There are no working showers in the park as of May 2024 due to plumbing issues, but they should be up at some point. You must pay and entry fee to enter the park. Bring bug spray if you're staying in the Potwisha campground. Hike to General Sherman early due to overcrowding. A shuttle service is provided freely around the park during summer months, but it might be tough finding parking if you arrive past 10am.

Loved visiting Sequoia on our national park roadtrip through California. Fair warning that there still is A LOT of snow in late April early May so be prepared for that especially if you want to hike.

I loved this place I enjoyed moro rock and it's beautiful views. I also saw a black bear and it's two cubs so definitely be careful when exploring. I also saw the general Sherman tree it's a giant tree. The drive up the mountain is beautiful. Make sure you do plenty of cardio before this because it is extremely difficult to hike in high altitude also recommend for you to buy a walking stick if you're not going to train it really does make a difference buy the 23 dollar one it is really nice and portable you can definitely take back with you on a plane or a car. Drink plenty of water otherwise you will get a headache. Try to limit us of bathrooms because they are all disgusting but they work. they have sinks and normal toilets.

Seeing the Sequoias was a bucket list item for my husband, and they did not disappoint! There are many well developed trails, with good signage. Many are paved, but you can certainly find some more remote areas. The General Sherman area was much busier than the General Grant area, but that may not always hold true. The weekend was much busier than the weekdays. I would recommend taking layers of clothing, because the weather can change rather quickly. Be aware that the Generals Highway (198 from Three Rivers) has got some crazy twists & turns & is exposed.
