The Tides Oceanview Inn & Cottages

This is in such a great location with a great view. Still close to do everything but not in the middle of it all. I loved that we had an oscillating fan in the room. Bathrooms were updated and had a hair dryer. We will 100% go back. I HIGHLY recommend this for your next stay. Some side notes to get on the beach its a couple blocks away. Super nice, short walk and then you have to go down what feels like a billion stairs. The hotel has 2 fire pits and offers free coffee with creamer in the mornings. I honestly can't say enough good things about this place. We had our two children (9, and 1) and it is family friendly! I hope this helps your decision 😁

A gem of a hotel, the cottages are private and quiet with a killer view. Beds were nice and comfy, the staff at the desk were friendly and helpful. Dog friendly and nice grounds to walk them around with provided bags for their waste. Fireplaces for the guests to enjoy and sit listening to the ocean, great views of the sunset from the Vista overlooking the water right down the path across from the cottages.

I have stayed here several times. Have stayed in the Beach House, cottages and rooms. Has been been an excellent experience every time. This is an older place but that is what makes it so great. It is so comfortable and homey. When I bring my dog he gets so excited and goes straight to our room. The views are beautiful . Close to town. Debbie the manager is the best. Makes sure everything is as it should be. I have a couple of more trips already planned.

Our overall experience was excellent. Good value,amazing ocean views,friendly staff, steps away from the beach...we loved it! The property is older but full of charm.They have a fire pit,plenty of chairs, grassy area and offer plenty of towels for the beach. We will definitely be back.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage and we loved it. Yes it's old, but its clean and the beds are new and luxurious. Everything functioned and you couldn't beat the views. We entertained a party of 7 and it was more than adequate. We'll be back for sure. If your used to a Ritz carlton go there and don't leave bad reviews.

I enjoyed my stay here. The only disappointment was the beach access stairs are closed off. Still gave it 5 stars as it was a very pleasant place. It's an older motel but very clean and I appreciate some of the older amenities such as a larger room and the sitting areas right outside my room that you don't often find in a more modern motel.

i think i have found my new favorite hotel in the area! i love everything about this property! we stayed the night for our anniversary in room 117. the view is absolutely ah-mazing! i was blown away at the view from our room and little balcony area. the property has flowers and plants as well as several very cool seating areas to enjoy the view. there was horse shoes a fire pit. the little cottage we stayed in yes is old, but i loved it. the bed was comfortable, it has good size kitchen, and cable. only downfalls were the bathroom was tiny, the blinds wouldn't close and the area around the beautiful picture window was rusted and old. these were very definitely not deal breakers though. there is also beach access a block in either direction which is super convenient. the location is fabulous, walking distance to all of pismo. love love it! the price for ocean view was very fair!

Our family had a great stay. The showers are really small but other them that it was comfortable and quite and walking distance to the beach. We loved how our dogs were very welcomed and treated well. We would for sure stay again. The staff at the time of our stay were very helpful and nice.

Beautiful location, staff was very friendly! We popped a breaker the first day there (do not run the heater, the tv and the iron all at the same time haha) and they came out to fix it right away. Beach access is only a block away and a short walk from the pismo beach pier!

This place is a quaint and serene hidden gem. No frills or even a phone in my room but who cares with these views and peace and quiet. I lucked out and got a corner ocean view room for me and my pup and it was the best nights sleep I ever had. Very affordable as well. If you're looking for something simple & quiet with killer views stay here.

Lovely older property on the cliffs above the north end of Pismo Beach. We requested a room with a view and Room 118 has a fantastic view! Small private deck too. Beds were excellent, room and bath were very clean. Keurig coffee maker and basic snacks were included. Grounds were nicely landscaped with a gas firepit in a common area. Only downside was no breakfast onsite. Only a couple of minutes from downtown PIsmo Beach, so plenty of options close by.

Some people may not like the fact that this property isn't full of high end touches. No granite vanities here. For us, it was charming. The staff were exceedingly helpful, particularly Elizabeth, who arranged for a late check out for us. I am looking forward to staying at the Tides again.

We stayed last weekend in a cottage. The staff is so helpful and friendly. We loved every minute of it. The views were amazing. It was like having a home on a beautiful cliff. We will be coming back again. I really recommend this place . Clean, and felt like home. Beautiful landscape .

I have never stayed here in the 35 years I have vacationed in Pismo but it was very comfortable, clean and had a beautiful view. We took a last minute trip to Pismo after laying my sister to rest so that we ( my mom and I)and her two youngest children could clear our minds. It was very nice. Thank you for having a room last minute on Easter Weekend.

great retro motel with great price for a great location. I am used to expensing hotels but I took a personal trip through Pismo. I felt the tides was a great value for the price. I had a small room which had charm and was clean. I am asthmatic and have left many hotel rooms due to chemicals, smoke and odours. To my surprise they had a private stairway to the prettiest part of pismo beach. I also left my computer bag with a kindle and camera in the motel parking lot. the staff tried reaching me for 2 days . they sent it back to me immediately. I have left items in hotel rooms before and I am not used to getting items returned. I was overwhelmed with the honesty and consideration of the owner and staff.

Quite comfortable upstairs room and bed for an affordable rate. Location is great too if you can manage to cut through the SeaCrest to access beach. Staff was super friendly and room was clean. Would definitely stay here again.

Very impressed with the customer service here. On the day of my stay, I received a call saying that they were having an electrical issue at the property and that they made arrangements for us to stay at their sister property (Cottage Inn by the Sea), two properties away. My original reservation was for a partial ocean view at The Tides. When we checked into the Cottage Inn, we got a direct Ocean View on the first level with the back door leading out to the patio and rear of the property overlooking the cliffs, with breathtaking views, firepits and chairs. It couldn't have been any better than that. Thank you Tides (and Cottage Inn). We will definitely be back!!

Hidden gem on Pismo Beach! We went on July 4th. It's a 10 mins walk to Pismo beach pier. Beach access is just 200m away from hotel. Sunrise and sunset times are beautiful and peaceful, away from hustling on the pier. Rooms were clean. Used outdoors fireplace for lunch and dinner. Their Cottages looks even better then rooms.

For a small place, the location was great, service you couldn't beat. Once the place has been completely remodeled, I have no doubt my family and I will be back. Just loved it😊😊😊

The king suites are definitely worth splurging on! The room we had was beautiful and offered an amazing, private view of the ocean. Perfect for sitting outside with a glass of wine at night and listening to the waves roll in.

I corresponded with Debbie On May 27, 2020, and reserved 3 rooms for my family, parents, and In -Laws to stay at The Tides Oceanview Inn & Cottages for a few days starting June 24, 2020. My wife and I planned a birthday party for my daughter who is turning two years old, so this stay was going to be a special event for our entire family. On June 24, 2020, I received an email stating my reservations were cancelled. I also received a phone call from Debbie informing me they had maintenance issues with a water heater forcing them to replace the water heater unit. My reservations were push back one day and discounted to make up for the inconvenience. Thank you Debbie for your communication and professionalism.
