Always ask for Bob! Best mechanic around for your dollar! To get a good mechanic, you need to pay a little more. (You get what you pay for, and he is worth every penny!) Bob will treat you right and make sure you are happy with the repair! Bob is also the only mechanic I’ll take my 1971 VW Super Beetle project to for maintenance or anything I can’t do myself. If you are looking for a hard to find odd or end for your bug project, most likely he’s got it or can get it for you!

Bob is an excellent and honest mechanic. And he's an incredibly nice person! We took a used car here to get his opinion on it before buying. He walked us through both potential and existing issues in great detail. You can tell he really cares about his customers. Highly recommended!

EPC & check engine lights were on leading me to believe something was wrong with sensors or throttle control. No luck getting thru to VW dealer service, so I dropped by Tumazi auto repair & owner Bob Tumazi was on it immediately. I left my car overnight & Bob called first thing in the morning to tell me car was done! Turns out free auto parts store diagnostic was a bit misleading, & Tumazi’s was able to diagnose & fix the problem quickly & at a very reasonable cost. My VW CC drives like a dream again & I’m so grateful for the honest, efficient, & pleasant service Bob provided. If your VW is still under warranty, definitely go see the dealer. But if not, go see Bob at Tumazi’s. I found my new trustworthy mechanic & I’m on cloud 9! Great experience! Great service! Thank you Tumazi’s!

Bob is a gem! I recently moved to Turlock and I needed help when my VW CC’s clockspring snapped. This was the second time. Since this issue was a recall on my car before, I went back to Tracy Volkswagen and asked them to replace it again since it is a VW warranty issue. The service manager at Tracy VW refused to honor the second repair on the clockspring issue and wanted me to pay full price. When I called Bob for help he referred me to VW Merced for this issue. It was such an awesome referral because VW Merced contacted VW and I still had 5 years left on my recall for the clockspring. It was fully covered! When that issue was taken care of, I needed my brakes replaced and I took my car to Bob. They did an awesome job and even found another issue that I wasn’t aware of. I’m so grateful to have a trustworthy place to take my VW in so close to where I live. Thanks, Bob!

Was driving down the road, heard a kerchunk and felt something wrong. The place looked a little dated, and if I hadn't just had something important break, I probably wouldn't have stopped here. Bob and his wife were fantastic. Looked inside my engine bay and instantly was able to tell what was wrong. A little rough around the edges, but don't judge a mechanic by how clean his hands are. If you're shopping for a place to take your car, you've found it here. 5/5

This is my new go to place for VW needs! Bob and Nora are great people! Bob is super knowledgeable and was honest about what type of repairs I was looking at. The prices are more than fair in my opinion. They went above and beyond for me. All in all great people, great work. I’ll definitely be a returning customer.

Wanted to share a great experience with Tumazi auto repair. I called 15 minutes before closing Bob (owner) answers phone, gets me number to local tow company, offers to stay and wait for car. Calls the next day as promised, car just needed a battery.

Courteous , honest service,

I will be a returning customer .

Bob is an amazing guy! He has always taken care of me and my family's vehicles for years! Any time someone needs a mechanic I refer them to Bob. He doesn't over charge or rack up misc repairs either. He's an overall genuine man!

Brought in my '64 Beetle for some tlc. They were able to get it running and stopping right as well as fix my electrical gremlins. They did it quickly and professionally in a timely matter. They also contacted me for updates on where they are at in the repairs as well as pass on helpful information on how things were built and why to help me better maintain my vehicle. This will be the only place I will go for my auto needs. Period.

My go-to mechanic was always Bob. He's such a great guy, friendly to talk to and absolutely knows what he's talking about. Prices are a little higher than average but again you have to remember two things. One, German cars are pricey. And two, you know he's going to get you a good part that will last and work right the first time. I had a 2004 VW Jetta. I always took it to him because he's a personable guy who's understanding of all situations. He usually gave me a couple of options for parts. The more expensive one that he recommended due to durability and longevity, or a second cheaper option if you didn't want to spend the extra bucks for a piece that may not last as long.
For me, each time I came in and described what was going on he wouldn't even have to look at the car to guess what was wrong. (of course he did to make sure, but every time with my case, he was correct off the get-go). I can't recommend him enough. Fun guy to chat with who knows exactly how to take care of you and your vehicle. Sadly I'm up in Washington now, but I'd truly be willing to take my car back down to Turlock to have him personally work on it. Also worth taking a look at a few of his cars. They're pretty gorgeous too. Many thanks for all the times you've helped me out.

I’ve gone to Bob Tumazi off and on since moving to Turlock in 1989. He’s been helpful and fair in keeping our cars running. A few years ago I bought an older Honda Civic for our high school child. He did some preventative maintenance (timing belt, etc.) and suggested some extra money saving maintenance since the car was already taken apart. No pressure, just suggestions. I took his advice and saved a lot of labor costs.
Bob is also very helpful in giving advice for buying old VW bugs (his passion and expertise for sure). He even helped out on his off day!!! Who does that? 🙂

I heard a horrible metal rattling noise under my Porsche Macan S so I called Bob on Wednesday and he told me to bring it in the next morning and he would check it out. He figured out that someone at some point before I bought the car had only hand tightened about 4 bolts that were connected to the exhaust, I believe, and he got it all back together with no more rattling. I would definitely recommend Tumazi!

I've called them a bunch of times asking for advice and they always bestow their great wisdom upon me. They could have easily robbed me blind by selling me a bunch of uneeded parts and a costly engine rebuild and I wouldn't know any better but they didn't. I trust them and will bring my 69 Beetle over to them when it decides to act up.

I bought a 2007 kia sportage from private owner. My husband is on dialysis needing a second car. Check engine light on went to a local tire shop and after paying $1325. for service and replacement parts the check engine light still on.
I stopped by Tumazi Auto and very impressed with Bob. He went that extra mile in explaining the codes P0741 P0711 info along with options available to me. Im grateful for your help Bob. See you soon.

I just bought a 1976 VW. Had no idea to think about smog. I was referred to Tumazi and told to speak to Bob. I called and he spoke to me for half an hour. We have never met yet he took the time to talk to me. Not only that after the conversation he asked me to take pictures of my engine and send to his personal phone! I did. He called me back right away and gave me GREAT NEWS! My car has the correct engine. He spent another 1/2 hour talking to me. WHO DOES THAT THESE DAYS? I am bringing my VW to him. I trust him and never met the man. I feel blessed to have been put in contact with this man and this company!! See you Wednesday Bob👍!!!!!!!!!!

Bob is the best European car repairman in Turlock. He will work on your American car to he knows everything about all cars and knows how to prepare them to factory spec. Don't expect him to be fast though, he is very thorough and trust me for every dollar you spend you will get hundreds of miles of smiles.
