I’ve been teaching at DMS for 10 years. It’s been a great place of employment. The administration is a pleasure to work with and students are generally respectful and diligent.

Great middle school

Both my children attended Dutcher. Although some of the staff were great, their policies on bullying were inconsistent. My daughter was being tormented by a student and my wife made numerous trips to the office to talk to the principal and the vice principle. Nothing was ever done. So my son saw this kid hit his sister in the back of the head , and my son hit him back so hard he knocked the wind out of him. My wife was called to the office to pick up MY son for fighting and HE was suspended for 2 days. MY wife told my son, Thank you for protecting your sister! Now lets go get 2 days work from your teacher so you won't get behind." The kid never bothered my daughter again. Sadly, racism is still alive and well.

Office staff don't seem to like answering their phone and speaking to parents. Get smart remarks while speaking to them.
