Redwood Suites

Great location for visiting Ferndale! It is located right in the heart of downtown, so everything is within walking distance. The hotel is tied to a lovely general store. Staff is super friendly. I was impressed with the rooms. I have stayed at several older, historic hotels and this one has been the roomiest and coziest by far!

A home away from home. The people at Redwood Suites (Victorian Inn) in Ferndale, CA are wonderfully nice people. I was here for work in 2023 and decided to come back to vacation here in Northern CA for 2 weeks. Chose to come back to Redwood Suites because the room was spacious, comfortable, clean, and convenient. Also enjoyed having wifi here since my cellular provider is non-existent in this part of the country. We enjoyed dining at the Victorian Inn and made it a staple of our vacation. Lots to do in this area and lots of places to just decompress. The town folks are super nice and friendly. We got a warm reception everywhere. Kudos to the local business chamber and business owners and town folk for emphasizing people and humanity over politics.

The service was great. Carryout breakfast from the restaurant just down the block. Sounds funny, but the couch was very comfortable.

Rooms were comfortable and charming. The staff was courteous and professional. At the time of booking only 1 bed suites were available, forcing 1 of us to sleep on the floor. Upon inquiring if a cot was available the next day, they transferred us to a 2 bedroom suite that had become available - for no extra cost. Will definitely book again on subsequent visits.

I was on my motorcycle traveling down 101 and wanted a safe place where I can see my bike from the window of my room. This whole town is safe. Hotel staff was great. Facility was great. Town was great. Ferndale is a great base camp to visit the Avenue of the Giants. GO TO FERNDALE!!! It was raining and I was on day 1 of a 3 day ride so I didn't ride "the Wildcat", but definitely will be back to do so.

First off, I usually have to pay MUCH more to receive the quality of service and friendly professionalism I received during my stay at the Redwood Suites. I especially wish to give a shout out to John, who was both my first and last point of contact during the three nights I stayed at the Eel River suite. The rest of the staff, without exception, were also efficient and unfailingly courteous.

The suite was very clean, utilitarian (not at all cutesy or twee), and quite like a small one-bedroom apartment. I was generally impressed with the kitchen equipment provided, as I cooked a couple dinners during my stay.

While the provided "grab and go" breakfasts were a cut above a typical motel "free breakfast," I probably would have liked a little more choice during my three night stay. That said, this was a pandemic-related compromise; I'm sure their usual dine-in breakfasts are superior. I'd love to go back when the restrictions are lifted!

The area is safe and a grocery store and coffee shop are both within a two minute walk.

Would definitely stay here again should I ever be in the area.

Wonderful customer service! The unit we stayed in was upgraded at no additional cost. We loved the grab and go breakfast and the friendliness of everyone we came in contact with. The unit we stayed in was very clean and had everything we needed. It was a little dated but served our needs well. We fell in love with this little town. :-)

The room was great, very clean, and comfortable. It was just 1/2 block from downtown main street attractions. This motel is associated with the Victorian Inn which added to its quality. With COVID, the breakfast was a grab and go which was excellent with good cold breakfast food, not just a granola bar. Our friends in another room were thrilled to find a suite with full kitchen. We enjoyed a bottle of wine and dessert after our dinner at a downtown restaurant (one of only three open at night). Rosemary

Absolutely love this place! We stayed in a 2 queen bed suite where the bedroom was separated from the living room by a door. I wish we were here for longer! Beds are comfortable, lots of pillows, windows can be opened, there was an awesome oscillating fan in the class which made my night sleep a million times better, bathroom is roomy with a great shower, and there’s a little kitchenette. Honestly it was a perfect place to stay and I hope we can come back and stay here someday. The town is super cute and we are within 10 min of the beach.

I found it a comfortable place to stay. The Suites were clean, roomy and the room is street level. I think it looked better in person than the pictures on the website. It is centrally located and parking was outside my door. I enjoyed my stay.

Beautiful place! I was worried when the outside looked like a motel, but the suites are beautiful and super cute! Bed is comfortable, full kitchen. We dealt with Tasha for everything during our stay and she was super sweet, friendly, and helpful. We needed more towels and she got us some. Also gave us a late check out short notice free of charge. The Village Inn restaurant is beautiful, cozy, and delicious. Great service as well. Had breakfast, lunch and dinner there over 2 days. A little pricey but good food and good portions. Ryan was an exceptional waiter. Xandra was super bubbly and sweet. The whole town is pretty haunted, but all the ghosts are peaceful and friendly. Can't wait to come back to this beautiful little place!

Very nice stay with a fun period-style Victorian feel to the whole town. Would definitely recommend for any travelers to the area.

A beautiful historic town. Everyone there was friendly. Our room was clean and perfect for two people. It's the best spot for a getaway from a busy reality.

We love to stay at the Redwood Suites hotel for special occasions, birthday, Christmas, Bargain Lovers Weekend in Sept. The on-site owners provide the best service, the room has a kitchenette, reservations include plated breakfast, location is centrally located in this cute Victorian town. Lowell and Jenny are helpful, fun, and run a great place. Highly recommended!

I stayed in one of their places behind the bank. It was lovely. I had full kitchen, dining table, couch and tv for staring mindlessly at after full days of house hunting. Separate, quiet, very comfortable bedroom.. and large bathtub/shower. Had attentive waitresses serve a delicious breakfast to start my days and a fantastic healthy dinner from the restaurant each evening. I highly recommend staying here.

We had a fabulous time with our dog also. 😄 Dog friendly. Walking distance 1/2 blk to great town. Even had a great dinner at the beautiful Victorian Hotel up the street with our dog in his doggy stroller. Very clean comfortable room. We definitely will stay on our next trip to Ferndale. Owners were friendly great people.

We really enjoyed our stay at Redwood Suites. Our room was very clean and had a separate bedroom. The front reservation desk lady was very kind and efficient. Would recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

Make yourself a treat and book dinner at the VI. SOUNDROUNDINGS and the service was great. FOOD was outstanding. Jennie and her husband are amazing host. We will tell all our friends to book a reservation!!!

Great motel at the end of main street. Always a friendly staff, clean rooms and easy to work with.

Clean, cozy, quiet. My wife and I try to visit Ferndale at least once a year. First time staying in the Redwood Suites. It has everything we needed so we booked again for this summer.
