This place was perfect for a weekend getaway. A calm, cozy inn with mountains on all sides. We booked the third floor suite. It was spacious, clean, comfortable, and private. The restaurant and lounge were delightful. Kami, our server, was an absolute gem and the food was mouthwatering and reasonably priced. Kami made me some of the best drinks I didn't know I wanted. Highly recommend a stay here!

The Bush House has been thoughtfully preserved for us to continue to enjoy its place in history and its beauty. The Inn greets you as you drive across the bridge into Index, and welcomes you inside with its cozy charm. Each employee I met during my stay was so kind and showed such generous hospitality. Fabian (the chef and bartender) in particular made turning 35 particularly special by making up unique cocktails and spending time with us throughout dinner.

Very quaint little inn nestled in the cutest little town. We stayed in the suite upstairs and it was perfect for us! Staff was very friendly and accommodating, would return!

What a nice find! We stayed here for a quick mid-week getaway. The Inn is freshly renovated with modern fixtures but retains its charm. The bed was excellent and the large shared lounge area was great for relaxing after dinner. Someone knows how to cook at the restaurant, we had a very tasty lunch and dinner.

Lovely rooms and the friendliest staff. It was in a perfect location on the way to Leavenworth for the holidays. We had a spectacular mountain view from our room.

We loved our stay here. My family of four (2 large teenaged boys!) stayed in the 3rd floor room with 1 queen and two twins. It was perfect, clean, comfortable. Every person we interacted with on the Inn staff was kind and helpful. This is a lovely Inn situated in a beautiful area close to lots of fun things to do. We look forward to our next trip!

Having stayed at The Bush House Inn twice for single-night visits, I was consistently captivated by its harmonious blend of historic charm and modern comforts, all while offering breathtaking mountain views. Its proximity to Seattle makes it a gem of a getaway, providing an immersive experience in both adventure and tranquility. Truly a memorable stay every time.

I love this spot! Incredible scenery surrounds this historic hotel and restaurant. I have tried three different dishes from the restaurant (wild mushroom and goat cheese flat bread, rib eye steak, and the country farm salad). All three were bursting with flavor and were beautifully presented. The staff is kind, and the little bar in the back is fun!

LOVED everything about my stay here! I think its the perfect distance between Seattle and Steven's Pass. Right off the highway & easy to find and get to (and that's coming from someone on the east coast who doesn't drive in snow often). I travel for work so I get to experience a lot of hotels and this the most beautifully remodeled hotel! Very clean, welcoming, comfortable, and most importantly, I felt VERY safe! I really liked the breakfast options!!! The owners, guests, and community were all so nice!!

The food was delicous. I loved the rum sauce with the lavender rice, herbs and chicken! The wine went well too! Some vegetables would have been good with the mains, my companion was still a bit hungry when we got home but he could have ordered a salad the waiter said. The historic hotel looks beautiful and I would love to stay over.

Oh my goodness, the restored Bush House is beautiful! We enjoyed a drink on the porch after an impromptu tour. Our family has roots in Index back to the early 1900's, just so happy to be back in this beautiful place!

Absolutely beautiful historic hotel with the perfect amount of modern. The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating, going out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay with our infant son. The views are also incredible. I can't recommend this place enough!

Came in for dinner after a day of climbing. We ordered steaks, salmon, chicken, a burger, and deserts and all were excellent. Good selection of beer and it was cold. Staff was super friendly. Would definitely return next time we're in the area.

Our friends wanted to celebrate their anniversary, so four couples stayed there and had a wonderful time. The hotel is old and historic, but it is also updated. All the work has been done with exquisite workmanship. The bathrooms are great- and plentiful. The beds are brand new and exactly firm enough. There is a lovely large room for gathering with huge windows, lots of light, a beautiful space. What nice people the owners are! Smiling, helpful, there when you need them. The continental breakfast was delicious- yogurts, hard boiled eggs, and just out of the oven blueberry muffins or raspberry scones! And coffee, or custom made lattes. Great place, we'll come back with friends again for a fun getaway in a gorgeous and comfortable old time hotel.

Wow this was a great experience! We stopped in around 10am to see if we could get some food. The restaurant wasn’t open but they offered to open it to make us some egg sandwiches. The hotel and restaurant are beautiful historic, the owners spent 10 years restoring the building which was originally built in 1890s. The scenery is gorgeous. Would highly recommend this restaurant!

The owners have done an excellent job renovating the Inn! A labor of love. My son and I stayed in the suite on the third floor. It was very spacious and had beautiful views of the town. The suite was super clean and the beds were very comfortable. In the morning we went down to the cafe and enjoyed homemade raspberry scones, hot tea and coffee. The owners also run the adventure center in town. Index is definitely a “hidden gem” with an endless list of adventure activities to enjoy for the entire family. Thank you Kathy and Blair for an amazing stay! We will be back very soon!!

We had a great 1-night stay and wish we could have stayed longer! Beautiful, newly-renovated rooms (gorgeous bathrooms and common area looking out towards the Town Wall climbing cliffs). Great location within walking distance to Heybrook Ridge and the Index Town Wall Trail, or a short drive to Heybrook Lookout and Lake Serene/Bridal Veil Falls. We enjoyed yummy breakfast baked goods and can't wait to see the restaurant and bakery fully open! Would definitely love to come back. The Inn is nicely set back about a mile off the main highway, in the quiet town of Index, although the train does pass right by, so you should be prepared to hear it through the night.

This is a historic inn that has been completely updated and renovated. Lovely woodwork and finishes throughout. Beds are comfortable, bathrooms are spacious, and a large common area is a place to gather. I want to come back to check out the restaurant opening in the inn this summer.
The inn is at the base of a granite cliff called the Town Wall, and views of the Cascades abound. The whitewater of the North Fork of the Skykomish is a block away. Lots of formal and informal hiking trails around--trailheads for the short but beautiful Erinswood Trail and the more challenging Heybrook Ridge Trail are just across the Index bridge. Whatever outdoor pursuit brings you to Index, the Bush House Inn is the place to stay.
