It's adorable. Very cute. Bathrooms are private, clean, and modern. There's a business "center" and a "theater" and the MOST CHARMING library! The beds are very comfy. There's a common-use guest fridge (it's large) in the dining room. There's a serious staff shortage in this area, so the breakfast part of bed and breakfast isn't really feasible, but there's coffee and snacks. Even the restaurants next door and in the neighborhood surrounding are seriously understaffed. The town is convenient to several tourist draws and this place is UNDENIABLY UNIQUE and really adorable.

If you like staying at the Hilton and the Ritz-Carlton you won't like this place. If you like a old building that has been renovated to a great hotel and has common rooms for everybody to hang in and talk about their days events you'll love this place. I have noticed some remarks about this place being dated. It is dated it's from the early 1900 that's what makes it so charming

Really great place to stay. Clean beautiful rooms, walking distance to restaurants including one right in the inn. Great location near Needles District of Canyonlands National Park. Affordable. Check out and check in was very simple. Loved my stay

My wife and I stayed here 2 nights. This place is a true gem. Rooms were clean and comfortable and very reasonably priced. The onsite restaurant was a bonus - so nice to get a delicious dinner and then walk upstairs to your bed! Special shout out to our server Charles who was friendly, attentive and very humorous - you made our meal extra special!! Kudos to all of the staff here - all very kind and helpful. If you are looking for a unique place to stay in Monticello - I highly reccomend The Grist Mill B&B!!

The inn was completely charming and we loved our room. The on-sight restaurant was a bonus and the food and bartender were terrific. I gave service a lower rating since we did not see or talk to one person from the actual Inn staff the entire time we were there. This felt very impersonal.

If you are thinking about staying here book it now! Such a fun, charming, unique, and clean place to stay! Looked great from the pics but it’s even cuter in person. Lots of great common spaces and plenty of space in the room too. I love staying places where you can tell that the people who run it truly care. Super easy self check in process and lots of personal touches!

Unique experience. Super Charming rooms. After the two bigger hotels in town either said they had no vacancies (parking lot didn't look full) or did not answer the phone at all, I tried the Grist Mill and we were very pleased. It's supposed to be a Bed & breakfast, but due to staffing issues, it's pretty much just "Bed" now. Breakfast was not great, but the price reflects that. I hope they are able to get back to full service soon. Would still recommend it and hope we get the chance to stay there again.

If I could give 10 stars I would. We checked in late and the instructions for checking in were easy to follow. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the room which was also very cozy and inviting. All of the staff we interacted with were kind and helpful! There were countless small details that were clearly thought through. The WiFi was very fast. The beds are comfortable. We look forward to our next stay!

The host was VERY accommodating! The food was amazing, I got the burger called the triple bypass and it did not disappoint! Overall a great experience for a small town. A place to stop and eat if you're driving through

Wonderful place. They have done a great job at combining the quaint, boutique style of the rural town, with the modern convenience we all look for in a hotel stay. Everything is clean and functioning. If you happen to meet the owners and get a chance to speak with them, they might show you around, which means you basically get a hotel stay AND a museum tour in one!

The attached bar is also a great stop, even if just to enjoy a meal and the aesthetics (I should know I helped build it.) Fun, energetic vibe.

Owner and staff were super friendly and accommodating! Very comfortable room, great WiFi and a great Bar & Grill on location. Had a fantastic steak dinner while passing through. Bartender and all the locals were super friendly. Great little spot if you're traveling through the area.

This was such a wonderful experience! My husband and I stayed here for a murder mystery dinner and had the most amazing evening! The room was very unique & absolutely adorable! It is kept very clean which can be difficult in such an old building. The hosts are so warm, friendly & accommodating. We got a tour of this amazing historical building, which was quite the treat. It is fun to see what the plans are that this young couple have for this place in the near future. You can really see the love, care & creativity put into restoring this place and making it a full experience for their guests to come. I believe they are a perfect fit for this! We look forward to the next opportunity for us to stay at the Grist Mill again!!

We really loved our stay here. The location is very quiet, and the rooms were very "homey", not like a chain hotel at all. The private baths were clean, the room layout was clearly adaptively re-used from being a large home, the check-in process couldn't have been any easier or less pretentious, and the on-site restaurant had an absolutely great dinner and breakfast. Monticello is such a great spot to jump off to so many nearby activities, that this place will be high on my list as a place to stay anytime I'm back in SE Utah or even SW Colorado.

The Grist Mill is a great family owned business. We stayed one night in late June 2018. Upon arrival, the owner's young son was practicing piano in the parlor, then later running around collecting bugs in the evening. :o) <3 We liked the property and vibe of the place very much, our room (in the cottage) was just right for our small family of three. Rates are reasonable given the quality of the rooms, though higher than some other motels in the area. You can add breakfast for about $10 per person per day if you want. (We did not, so I can't comment on the breakfast. We're not big breakfast eaters and we're on a budget.) There is a central kitchen and lounge space in the Cottage, which is available to all guests. The very large and lovely kitchen in the main building is also available to guests, as is the gas grill in the yard. Pots, pans, cutlery, plates, etc are provided - you must handle the clean-up. Our room and the kitchen were excellently clean and well maintained. The owners are doing upgrades to the property, and are turning the silos (of the main mill building) into a bar and grill. Its so nice to see a small prosperous family business like this.

We were traveling back home finally from several jobs, and this was an amazing stop.. we have been in 11 hotels in the last 2 months. This was a absolutely my favorite stop!!

The beds were amazing, I mean out in 5 mins kinda sleep! It's the best sleep I've had in months! I seriously love it more then my own bed at home! We checked in around 11pm, and we were out around 8, I felt extremely safe, and it was super comfortable. I would defiantly love to go back, again! If we are ever in that area again, we most defiantly will!! It's wonderful! I can't say enough how amazing this place is!

Even though we didn't stay for breakfast I had spoken with the inn owner about my daughters food allergies and they had been so extremely kind in being able to make accommodation for her!

Relative to any experience I'd expect to have in Monticello, I give this place five stars. The rooms (carpet, paint) could use some updating, but the room was clean. To be fair, the place kind of intentionally has an older feel, with a lot of antique style furniture and decorations. The owners are very nice and were accommodating to some special requests I made, such as checking in a few hours early so we wouldn't have to haul our trailer and bags with us to Mesa Verde.

The breakfast was pretty good, certainly better than anything I'd expect at a hotel. They're currently building a restaurant (a bar and grill) into the facility, so I expect the breakfast situation will change over the next couple of months.

This is a place I'd definitely return to and will recommend to friends headed to the area.

This place is so cool! It felt more like staying with family than staying at a hotel. Check in and check out is no stress, the beds were super comfortable and the whole place is just full of fun stuff to look at. You can tell they put a lot of work into making it feel like you're taking a step back in time without sacrificing any of the modern comforts we've all become accustomed to. I will definitely be staying here again.

Room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The self check-in process was very easy and convenient. We only stayed one short night or would have loved to spend time in the communal reading nooks, etc. So cozy!

If there is vacancy, do yourself a favor and stay here. The family-run Inn is very cozy and comfortable, and the history of the building is a lot of fun. The breakfast was so good, and they had gluten-free choices ready to go which was a nice accommodation. Our kids played on the piano, ran around, played fire tag with the host's young son, and said it's the best place we've stayed. We loved it and will be back for sure.

This charming inn was an absolute life saver on a stormy night when our camping trip went wrong. The beds were soft and comfy, the space was cozy, and the food was delicious. The owner was incredibly friendly and we loved chatting with the friendly staff members during our stay.
