I've only been there once, but the staff made me feel welcomed immediately. They treated me with respect and the visit was so quick and easy. I was able to get an appointment the same day I needed to.

I’ve seen the health center upwards of 5 times for various reasons, every time the staff has been kind, considerate, and appropriate. The gals in the lab are the best! So sweet and minimal discomfort while taking blood samples. The receptionist has always tried to get me same day appointments but if not I’m always in the next day. The docs I've seen have listened and been kind. I recommend this FREE campus service to all WWU students.

I saw many bad reviews, lots were about one specific doctor and from several years ago… I’ve yet to have a bad experience, so I’m hoping all the previous mentioned things have been resolved.

I'm obsessed with the student health center, being chronically and mentally ill, I consider myself to be a pretty avid consumer of health care. The student health center has met and far exceeded my expectations. They set me up with an amazing psychiatrist (Susan Hakeman) in less the two weeks, and for free, nonetheless. I've since used the health center twice for physical health issues and both times they got me an appointment just an hour or two after my call. The two nurse practitioners I saw were both kind, knowledgable, and easy to talk to. I highly recommend utilizing this amazing campus resource.

They really helped me out. Even when I waited to the last second to get a form signed and I had all the time in the world to complete it before the start of the quarter. I'm in class thanks to them!

Everyone here has always been incredibly kind and helpful. The mental health social worker, the receptionists, the doctors- they've all been wonderful every time I've gone. They are always patient, welcoming, and supportive.

Negative reviews are common here but I would like to speak on my experience here. Firstly, the Student Health Center is a "free" resource (paid in tuition fees) to basically play a general practitioner, not a specialist. I have received more than adequate mental healthcare here specifically from Dr. Gibson. She is truly a godsend and has helped me and numerous others navigate hardship withdrawals and other academic + mental health issues. If you want extremely personalized healthcare, I would look elsewhere, if you want a quick and dirty appt, like I have for tendonitis, it is perfect. Mental healthcare depends on a lot of external factors and usually requires more time than an introduction. I would very much so suggest getting an EVALUATION here, but maybe find a local psychiatrist for mental health issues, you need a specialist for this tbh.

I've gone here probably a dozen times in the past 4 years and have never had a negative thing to say. Doctors and nurses are super friendly and easy to talk to. Easy to get in and wait times are minimal.

Nothing short of remarkable service at the student health center. Everyone who works there is incredibly compassionate and helpful and the care is beyond exceptional.

I got a piece of glass in the bottom of my foot and tried everything to get it out... but it wouldn't come out. I went to the student clinic and they were all very nice & they got the glass out, bandaged be up and gave me what I needed to care for it for a few days :)

The nurses and doctors are very helpful but the receptionist is always rude. It doesn't seem right to be mean to people who are in physical pain and seeking health care.

As a student, it’s convenient and carries all the services needed.
However, it’s 50/50 on the staff. Half of them are wonderful and helpful and kind, but there are a few who are downright mean to patients for no reason.

Long waits for bureaucratic redundancies.
