Dollar Car Rental - Bellingham International Airport

I don't know why all the bad reviews? I've used these guys multiple times over the last couple years and always had a great experience. Folks at the counter are always kind and helpful, never any issues with the vehicles.

Excellent customer service!

Do NOT use this company - use enterprise!! This could not be a worse run department of this company. It's embarrassing. I used enterprise normally but booked through Priceline this time and didn't realize it offered Dollar. I upgraded in lieu of a military discount - they gave me an upgrade at a discount. What a joke! I looked outline because the truck I originally rented was $350 (insurance included) for four days. They charged me an additional $550 for an upgrade to a min van lol laughable. Then, I go check the rate on the website for the same time, it's $600 total. They essentially overcharged me $300 for no reason. So gross. Then, I filled the tank and forgot I prepaid. I drove maybe an hour to the drop-off location, told them I already filled the tank, and wanted to be credited. They declined. Their customer service is foul. They openly and overtly overcharge their customers and refuse to assist when called out. That is stealing!

Last night (Jan 18th) our plane arrived on time but we were not allowed to deplane for a bit, as the gangway was being salted / deiced for safety reasons. My wife and I were literally the first people off the plane and went straight to the Dollar counter and they had closed even though we had a reservation and the lane had arrived. Awful customer service. This is a small airport, with no excuse for not knowing what was going on.

Thanks to Enterprise for being there (both companies have the same operating hours) and arranging a car for us.

Book with Enterprise. This place is a joke and you willbe overcharged. Save yourself the trouble.

Worst service I ever had in my life. First of all it doesn't matter you that you already booked the car or not, you have to be on the line wait for your turn. Moreover these guy charge you again. They have charged me twice. Even though i ask the guy that i have already booked the car and i do have a reservation number still he asked me every thing like my phone# email, then whats the use of reservation. Moreover the guy sitting out there is very arrogant and doesn't know how to treet a customer. I will surely ask my credit card company for a refund if these guys will not refund my money.

We had a bad experience renting from Dollar. The vehicle itself was fine. When we returned home after our vacation we received a toll fine of $11 with a Dollar service charge of $89.91. This is a charge of over 8 times the toll charge. At Pensacola beach, the tolls says to roll through and not to stop, so we did expect to pay the $1 toll times 11 trips through, or $11, but not with the additional $89.91 fine for being a DOLLAR CUSTOMER. Also, We had rented through Expedia, and at the beginning of our vacation, when we arrived at the Dollar counter we had to sign papers, switch credit cards and re-negotiate the rental as if we were not Dollar customers. It seems that Dollar does not coordinate well with major travel companies Expedia, Orbitz. Beware Dollar Car Rental!
