Avis Car Rental

Wow, what a polar opposite experience from my last rental car adventure. The guy who works the counter here regularly is fantastic. Takes his time, answers all your questions thoughtfully — always providing the right level of information. By the right level of information, I mean to say that in some outfits, it is possible to leave out important details in your answers that can have dire financial consequences (late fees, rate changes, the inability to get unused rental days refunded if you pay in advance, etc). The Rental Car business model in general is set up opportunistically, and it capitalizes on uncertainty. There are a lot of logistical details that are difficult to navigate or understand without a bit of explanation, and nobody can make it through the typical Rental Car contract when they are en route somewhere or in a hurry. so having a representative who is honest and empathetic about your concerns is everythjng.

I've had to rely on rental cars a lot lately while my van goes in and out of the shop, and I never know when the work will be finished. The first time I rented here I had prepaid, which limits your options if you end up needing fewer days than anticipated. The guy explained this to me so that I would know next time that it's better to overestimate the number of days you'll need the vehicle, and not to pre-pay. That way, I was able to be more strategic the second time I rented from them— and his helpfulness was why I came back to Avis a second time, and will continue to choose them over the other options at the airport. He also made sure I got a slightly bigger vehicle than initially planned so that I could accommodate my bicycle. His friendliness, integrity, and sincere desire to help are consistently above and beyond; I've really appreciated his guidance, and from the looks of the other reviews here, I'm not the only one!

I received a bigger car than I expected. It was a Wagoneer and it was in great condition also the car was very big and safe to drive. Also there was a full tank of gas. My kids loved the car and it was very clean. I would definitely use them again.

My experience picking a rental car at near closing on a Saturday afternoon at BLI with Avis was one of the best customer service experiences I have had in years, both personable, and professional. I received a call when my arrival was a little later than I had planned (bringing us closer to closing time), but still no rush and completely friendly when I arrived a few minutes later. The car was of better caliber than I expected, and even though it smelled a little like the previous renter had maybe smoked in it, it was delightful to drive and got us to where we needed to go. Drop off at SEA was easy and efficient, and I was at departures within minutes of dropping off the rental. It was an excellent experience.

Best car rental experience. Matt was awesome and gave us many suggestions for things to do in Bellingham. Our flight was delayed, and we arrived after Avis was scheduled to close, but he stayed open longer, so everyone could get their cars. Deserves more than 5 stars!

Excellent! I told the guy behind the counter that we were going to drive across the US border into Canada. No extra paperwork is required. Very easy, just make sure your insurance will cover you in Canada (AAA does). The return process was easy as well, just mark the location of the car, mileage and put the key in the box. Simple as that!

The Bellingham Washington staff was so helpful and professional. We will use Avis again next time we fly into town.

Renting at the Bellingham, WA airport was easy - great rate, friendly staff, free upgraded vehicle, and the car was close by (didn’t have to take a shuttle to get there). We would choose them again!

I was very impressed that the Agent waited for our flight to arrive. I got to the counter at Avis at 2:02 in the afternoon. The counter closed at 2, but the agent remained at his post to greet me and assure me that the vehicle I had rented was waiting outside for me and my family. That alone was impressive, but the vehicle itself was great! My overall AVIS EXPERIENCE was truly incredible, and I highly recommend this as a company to do business with whenever you are travelling. Best rental experience for our Summer vacation, Matt was extremely helpful. Got free upgrade to a nice and fuel efficient car. Were seen on time and were out and on our road trip quickly. It was a nice ride from Bellingham to LA. The car didn't have any problems. All toll roads fees were charged to my credit card, a little expensive but convenient. Will rent with them again for sure

I flew into Bellingham for a quick business trip across the border. It’s a nice, small airport. The Avis agent was very friendly. I received a brand new Nissan Altima, no issues with the car.

I was surprised by how efficiently the whole transaction went with Avis. The call center was informed, easy to understand and worked to get me the best rate. Very pleasant. The car pick up and drop off - very engaged and customer service-oriented, quick and efficient. Just so easy and not any surprises. The car was clean and ran well. Hassle free and a good value.

This had to be the best rental car experience I've ever had. My wife and I picked up a car at the Avis/Budget desk and the customer service representative, also named Matt, was very friendly and gave us several suggestions on things to do and see in Bellingham. Returning the car was also super easy.

Our Agent, Conner, was excellent, and was the the epitome of customer service. As soon as we walked up to the counter, we were greeted and acknowledged. When we advised him who we were, he knot only had our reservation waiting, but had us upgraded from a Ford Fusion to a Chrysler 300 Limited! Conner was a great representative of your organization and deserves a kudos!!!

Matt is AMAZING! We lost 3 vehicles in a flood. Matt jumped into action and found us a car. He worked with us on price, and was so positive and compassionate. Highly recommend this company.

Rented a vehicle out of BLI to take on a road trip into Canada. The staff was awesome and quick even though it was busy. Got us in our car promptly so we can hit up a local brunch spot.

I had noticed a billing error after I returned the vehicle (missing Costco discount) and called customer service via their 800 number. I was connected promptly to an agent and after a couple minutes of explaining what happened we had a resolution and correction to the charge. This was the most seamless and pain free customer service experience I've had!!!

Bellingham was great. So fast. Sadly SeaTac Avis is not the same - charged for gas even when returned with a full tank.
