This review is for the building, not the post service office it houses
Majestic historic landmark that is very well preserved with intricate period architectural details
There are interpretive plaques inside the building that tells its interesting history

It took a while before this Post Office got it's "sea legs," but now that the remodeling/construction is behind them and are open with regular hours and adequately staffed by regularly assigned, full-time postal clerk's the service quality has shot up!

I am regularly greeted with a friendly, "hello" and on the few occasions I actually have a question or transaction that requires interaction to complete I've found the clerk's to be knowledge, helpful, friendly and efficient!

Frankly, the post office as a whole is amazing. What other organization can fairly reliably deliver a letter anywhere in the country within a few days for 50 cents? The reason people complain about postal service is because we have set extremely (some would say, unreasonably) high expectations on them specifically because they have done such a great job for us historically.

I'm awed by their efficiency and applaud the overall quality of their work. The Post Office plays such a critical role in our daily lives is easy to let a single employee having a bad day or a misplaced (almost never lost) piece of mail distract is from the great job they do day in and day out without recognition.

PREVIOUS ONE-STAR REVIEW
Since the Post Office decided to close the contract station in Fairhaven, those of us on the southside have been reduced to going to the downtown post office in the Old Federal Building on Magnolia.

I haven't had much interaction with the personnel here. They seem nice enough, but I miss being personally greeted nearly everytime I entered the store and being able to pick up my mail pretty much anytime I chose.

Now, I learn they are closing the retail lobby for the next six months or so for remodeling, though we will still have access to our post office box at this location, the hours have been significantly reduced.

The Retail Lobby is still closed for remodeling and there are no USPS employees here except when the mail is being distributed, so I no longer have ANY interaction with onsite personnel.

LATEST INCONVENIENCE: The parking lot used to be for any tenant at the Old Federal Building (presumably, including box holders at the Post Office), but now, adding "insult to injury," parking is restricted to City vehicles only!

I'm NOT a "Happy Camper!"

It is a beautifully tiled space, in a charming downtown. Cathy is a saint. I was unexpectedly gifted two canvases and she was extremely helpful in directing me to the places around town that would have the materials I needed to safely pack and ship them home. She showed incredible grace under pressure with other customers and was generally just a delight to work with. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely love the service here. One very capable, knowledgable postal worker who acknowledges the line that can build up, and does their best to keep things moving. Always my first choice for postal errands!

People need to relax, the post office isn’t that bad. Don’t go if you’re a spoiled brat who needs to be greeted like a king wherever you go. It’s where you go to ship things. That’s it. This is not Yelp.

I just moved to the west coast and I'm so happy I chose this location to get my first P.O. box. The woman I worked with (Cindy?) Was super patient with me and super helpful!!!

Everyone knows that going to the PO requires good timing. No different here. Use your brain and treat the PO employees with respect, and they'll take care of you and you'll be on your way.

Always friendly, courteous and responsive to any questions.

Sometimes fast, sometimes slow, the staff is always amusing.

One of the few major post offices in Bellingham. This location offers a great number of hands to get your package shipped.

I haven't really had issues with this location... But what is so hard to understand about "DO NOT BEND"...?

Beautiful place, nice customer service, but finding parking is horrendous if you're trying to quickly drop off a package, and the dropboxes are too small for pre-ready return packages that are just medium sized. My advice, if you have time and live somewhat nearby then walk here! Otherwise its hard to park 😅
