Exton Amtrak Station Park and Ride

I used to take the train into Philly from Exton everyday but at that point the station was only a platform. No indoor areas to shelter during winter while waiting for the train. Parking was also challenging back then but with the multi-year expansion, both of these issues have been solved. With the remote working the trains aren’t as crowded also.

It's a very long parking lot. It is fine by 7am. Traffic can back-up when trying to exit after a train has departed at rush hour.

The location isn't hard to get to. There is plenty of parking - parking costs $1 for commuter parking and you have to have exact change (no dollar bills). It does have overnight parking but I don't know the cost. Luckily, I went the day before to make sure I knew how to navigate this Park and Ride (I've never used one before). There is no ticket office or kiosk, so if you don't already have a ticket or pass, you need to have cash to pay the conductor a higher rate - prices can be found online after some searching. The lot gets backed up for about 20 minutes after a train drops people off. Overall, I would use this Park and Ride again, especially when other Park and Rides on this line have overfilled parking lots, as you get closer to Philly.

There are not many signs to direct you. It wasn't clear where I needed to be to catch the train. Luckily others rides were there that I could ask or I may have missed my train.
