I cut the tip of my finger and had to have the tendon reattached. The doctor recommended Mike at HTI and am so glad he did. Mike is very respectful, very professional, easy to communicate with, and answered all my questions. His commitment to my progress made it easy to do what i needed to do at home. I saw him for 3 months because of the damage to the finger and he was always supportive and encouraging. I recommend him completely, you can't go wrong. (Also enjoyed his sense of humor!)

I have been a patient of Mike's since 2014 for arthritis of both hands and most fingers. Mike provides a thorough assessment, with genuine concern. I find him to be professional, practical and compassionate.
I recommend Hand Therapy Inc to anyone looking for an occupational therapist (OT) with experience and knowledge delivered in an effective and efficient manner!

After a woodworking accident and consequent hand surgery, I've been seeing Mike at HTI 2x/week for about 2 months. The therapy has been fantastic, totally individual to my specific situation, and extremely helpful. I've seen tremendous progress and Mike is very attentive to the small details that make all of the difference.

After Hand Surgery, my surgeon sent me to Hand Therapy Inc. in Bellingham for therapy. I am very happy with my experience there. My therapist was Mike Poulos and he really seemed to know what he was doing. He was gentle in the beginning when I was still hurting and added just the right amount of treatment as we went along through the weeks. He pushed me to just the right amount because just 8 weeks after a ruptured tendon repair, I feel like I am back to full strength. I would highly recommend this business. They are professional, always on time and my recovery was weeks ahead of what I expected.

Mike Poulos was extremely professional, intelligent and able to help me relax with some appropriate quick wit. It is a small office which I liked as I got lots of individual attention .Mike went out of his way to communicate with my hand specialist and me.
He was extremely knowledgeable about my problem and quite sensitive to the pain and frustration I was having trying to get back into shape to return to work. The therapy has been working, and I am looking forward to making a full recovery.

Two months after injuring my elbow the pain continued and there was no sign of healing, so I decided to visit Hand Therapy. After three weeks with Mike my condition had improved noticeably. I appreciate his services and enjoy having a fully functional elbow once again.

I have been for 2 different hand issues and both were resolved quickly. The therapist knows what he is doing and can explain the issues in ways that are easy to understand. There is some free onsite parking in the back and Mike has always been on time and ready for me when I got there.

I also like that he gets to know you as a person too, if you want. He is fun to joke with, talk current events, or just stick to business if that isnt your thing.

The office is VERY clean and covid procedures are no joking matter.

If you are having hand or arm issues I highly recommend HTI. Your pain will be resolved and you will be able to get back to doing the things you want to, quickly and safely.

Thank you HTI!!!

I have had three hand surgeries in the past three years. It has a pleasure to work with Mike at Hand Therapy Inc. in Bellingham. He helped me to rehabilitate after each one. I highly recommend him for any and all hand issues you make have. I call it care at the highest level. Thank you!

Im a commercial diver whose hand was crushed at work in a crane accident. I've been through 12 surgeries with amputation of one finger. Croninc infection due to extensive vein , nerve, and bone damage has proven extremely difficult to treat and heal. After seeing several hand therapists I was glad to find a empathetic professional like Mr Poulos. We worked around, and through my serious and changing issues and I am glad to say that I am nothing but amazed at the strength, function, and confidence I have in that hand today. Thanks again Mike!

I broke 3 fingers and Mike was patient with me throughout the healing process, was professional, and kind. And my fingers are better! Can't ask for much more from a hand therapist.

Michael is magic. I can climb again after 4 month pain. I should have visited him earlier.

Very Satisfied with my experience, and Mike goes above and beyond to make the whole process pleasant. (as much as physical therapy can be pleasant....)

Overall I was very pleased with the care that I received for my hand. I was referred to Hand Therapy Inc by my hand doctor after a scaphoid break from a car-pedestrian collision. I had never been to Occupational Therapy before and was not sure what to expect. Mike was very welcoming to myself and my husband (who drove me to many of my appointments) and made us feel comfortable right away. Mike is personable and very enthusiastic about his work, taking time to carefully answer any questions that we had in detail. We are impressed with his knowledge of everything to do with the hand. He took great care with choosing appropriate therapies for my specific injury. It was great that Mike was easy to get ahold of, and working out appointment times and scheduling was straightforward. I recommend asking directly if you have any questions about remaining eligibility for appointments or upcoming treatment options.

Before I went to my first appointment (a referral from my doctor), I did read the only other review given for Hand Therapy Inc. in Bellingham, which you can read for yourself--a negative review.

However, I found Michael to be very personable and funny, while still professional. Most importantly, he was informed about my hand issue.

He is pretty much the sole proprietor of this business, is his own receptionist and the only therapist on hand (no pun intended). No, this is not your ordinary "sit in the waiting room and wait for your very own cubicle to be open and then wait some more" type physical therapy office. Michael works up front and center, so that he can monitor who comes in, but there is a comfy waiting room in the corner of the space. Yes, he answers his phone while working with you--because he actually answers his own calls. If this bothers you, then find someone else, but if you care more about someone who is knowledgeable about hand injuries and therapy, and want to see someone who has experience with all kinds of people (who all seem to be enjoying him, from what I can see), then I recommend him.

The working space, office, and rehab area are professional and clean. During Covid Mike(the owner) made sure to strictly follow Covid regulations. That accounts for the two stars.

I only attended 4 sessions at Hand Therapy Inc and came away only with a lighter wallet and poor opinion of the place. Each session was characterized by consistent tardiness, assumptions, and passive-aggressive comments by Mike. He continually forgot what my issues were, made up issues I had not claimed or stated, and even forgot which hand was my dominant hand during a single session multiple times.
Treatment involved rubbing my hands down with a glorified butter knife, telling me to not do things with my hands that hurt, and receiving a poorly xeroxed copy of what I will assume was a textbook on wrist stretches. He did make me a wrist brace, which helped a little, but by and large I regret attempting Hand Therapy Inc. While I'm sure that others may have different experiences and even enjoy the company and services Mike provides, I would not and will not return.
There was nothing gained here that could not be found for free on YouTube.

The care provided was unacceptable. Not only did they not show up to unlock the door till three minutes before the appointment (no joke) he made multiple rude comments. One being
“ ill just put injury due to incorrect form” (hmmm how about due to unforeseen circumstances). When I arrived he used his phone during the appointment. He wanted to schedule my next appointment the same day and I told him I would call back he then rudely shut his book saying “well I get pretty busy so you better call quickly.” The only thing I know about this place is that I don’t recommend it and I know i’m never EVER going back.
