Had a problem and issue with a St. Croix fishing rod, and staff, and particularly Mark in sporting goods, and the assistant general manager were fantastic in resolving the issue. The fact is, Tri-State could have refused the warranty by policy, but instead showed good faith in business and went ahead with the warranty disposition on the spot. This customer service is above and beyond the norm. We recommend Tri-State and will continue to do business with them. Recently picked up a kayak, life vests and a paddle, end-of-season, for around $600, which seems like a great deal.

Usually I get plumbing, electrical, paint, or other household repair/maintenance items, and they have a good selection.

Much rather shop here than sportsman's. Good service and have most everything you would need. Good ammo and gun selection as well

The brake cable on my son's scooter broke. He's a student at U of I and I'm 300 miles away. He took it to a local bike shop and they couldn't help him. I finally got to Moscow and on Sunday hauled his scooter into Ace Hardware. Two guys both by the first name of Keith, took his scooter down several rows of the store sizing and experimenting with different parts. Several of these tiny nuts and bolts were very low in value. In the end my son's scooter was fixed. Two employees spent about 30 minutes making a very small $$$ sale. And on a Sunday. VERY impressed.

I brought some old window screens in to be refreshed, and am super happy with the result. Taylor did a great job, and Italo noticed a glitch in one and offered to make it right, no questions asked. Very happy to be shopping locally this year!

James is working every time that I go into Ace. He always has a good attitude, and he is enthusiastic about his job. It’s an odd thing, but a huge blessing for the customer. I watched a whole box of assorted screws fall in front of him. He calmly said OK and continued to help me - even with an annoying mess lay in front of him. If you need something from a hardware store, start with Ace. Ask for James - actually he’ll probably find you first!
