The Monarch Motel

Gem of a motel as centrally located as you can be in Moscow; it's within walking distance of any number of dining and shopping options. Farmers market down the block on Saturdays from May to October. Well maintained EV charging by the lobby and thoughtfully appointed rooms. Would definitely stay here again if we make it back to Moscow.

I'm not associated with the hotel. I try to book a non-chain hotel at times, and this has good reviews so I booked. The room is comfy and nicely furnished. I'd stay here again if ever in the area.

Had a wonderful weekend here while in town for a wedding. The location is close to downtown with lots of options for everything. We got lucky and the farmers market was happening so even more stuff to do. The rooms in this old motor inn have been wonderfully updated and well appointed. The parking lot is small but we always were able to find a spot no matter the time of day. The motel is veteran and pet friendly. I will definitely be staying here again if ever in the Moscow area.

Stayed here several weeks ago. I really like what they did with the place. The staff here has turned this place into a work of art with the way they have remodeled all the rooms and they pride themselves on what they do. The room was super clean. The bed was comfortable. Check in and check out was super easy and smooth.

It was nice to be able to walk around downtown to get a bite to eat.

We stayed over on our trip back from Canada. I wasn't expecting too much simply because of the price of the room. It was very reasonable, plus they offer military discounts. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the location was perfect. The motel is surrounded by numerous restaurants to walk to.

Checking in and out has never been easier. They have the option to do it remotely. They text you your room number and key code just before you arrive, and then you just text "check-out" when you leave.

If I had to complain about anything, it would have to be the shower. There was not much water pressure at all. It might have just been the room we were in, I'm not sure, but that would not stop me from staying here again. We really did enjoy our stay.

Perfect downtown spot and walkable to everything! The beds were perfect for my family. Nice hot water, lots of towels.

We had such a great time at the Monarch! The King Suite is such a great size to have visitors in your room, everything was updated and clean, and the contact-free service was amazing - I really enjoyed getting texts with updates, etc. instead of having to stop by the front desk (although they were always helpful at the front desk as well). The location cannot be matched - so close to everything great in Moscow. They provide noise machines and ear plugs for light sleepers, the air conditioning is great, and I also really enjoyed the key code for the doors - makes it much easier than having to worry about remembering a room key when you leave. Absolute blast and cannot wait to stay again!

Just discovered this nice motel while visiting the university. It's right downtown in a perfect location, with lots of parking, all the rooms are updated (brand new everything), and I slept so well on the comfortable bed. A tad noisy from the road outside but this is just so nice. The owners have done a superb job with decorations, mid century style, and the employees are great. Thank you!

Stayed at the Monarch 3 days while my husband was at Gritman Hospital. The staff was caring and very kind. The room was clean, quiet and very comfortable. Was blessed to be there. Thank you

Customer service was amazing! Location couldn’t have been better. We loved the ability to text the front desk with questions, receiving a quick response each time. Room was clean, with mini fridge and microwave, plus complimentary waters that they refill for you in the lobby with filtered water! Our room was on the front end of the motel close to the busy road but unless you’re a light sleeper I don’t see how road noise would be an issue. I slept like a baby! Amazing! We had the best stay here. Our room was so clean! The bed was super comfortable and plenty of pillows! We enjoyed sitting on the patio downstairs as well. The location was also really great!

A pleasant boujee surprise in little Moscow! This place reminds me of the Motel 6 in Santa Barbara, a block from the ocean. My pics do not do it justice, but the room is exactly like the site. Fun line of upscale soaps and shampoo/conditioner provided. Friendly front desk staff (Erin from NY!). Bed mattress and linens, clean and comfy. The room faced the main strip (95… which is not a Highway but a road), and though there were thoughtful ear plugs provided, there was literally no noise after 9:00 PM. The town is not a bustling party place. Of note, there is ‘event’ pricing schedule here aligned with the University and their events, so you will pay more those nights. Worth it for location and convenience!

We had a really comfortable stay. The location in downtown was perfect, and we liked the thoughtful mid-century meets Northwest decor. Our room was immaculate and the white noise machine helped us snooze peacefully. It’s a short a walk to the U of I campus. And, the cute coffee shop next door was a bonus. 10/10

Great place to stay, loved it. Nice, simple, comfortable and clean rooms. Staff is very friendly and willing to help if you have any questions or need anything. It's right in the heart of the beautiful center of Moscow so there's lots to do within short walking distance. I would highly recommend this place.

My 17-year-old son and I were charmed by the Monarch while visiting overnight to tour the University of Idaho. While on the outside it's a simple roadside motel, hardly worth a second glance, on the inside it's updated, clean, and comfortable, with all the amenities we need and a personal touch that feels welcoming. Check-in was entirely by text, which made it incredibly easy. There were earplugs and a white-noise machine to help make guests sensitive to the busy road noise more comfortable. The location - easy walking distance to many restaurants, coffee shops and the University, just added to its convenience. Thanks for the lovely stay!

Stayed for two nights and really enjoyed it. There was a mini fridge, microwave, as all as earplugs and a white noise machine, which was really nice. We were able to do the check in and check out process via text, which is nice since we're still in the midst of a pandemic. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked well. Also loved the location. It was within walking distance to the U of I campus, restaurants, and coffee shops. Will definitely stay here again if we're back in Moscow.

We as a family had the best time there.
Everyone was so accommodating and helpful.
With spacious and clean. Having a clean space is always my first choice.
And the monarch did not disappoint.
