Dr. Helen M. Shearer, MD

She refused to treat my mom for her hearing loss, claiming it's "normal" for early 30 somethings to lose hearing. She also was so rough with pap smears that taking work off the next day was a MUST. She lied to my family about HRT not being an option. She was openly transphobic and insulted me every time I would come in. Every single medical issue we'd have, she'd claim it was normal and nothing to be worried about, refusing to even do a basic check like shining a light in your ears to see if there was damage. We had to switch to another doctor because she would gaslight us at every opportunity. She refused to provide care, to the point of borderline malpractice.

My aunt also had to stop seeing Shearer as she was running into the same issues. I am autistic and Shearer would borderline bully me into meltdowns every time I'd come in. She has no business practicing medicine as she has no basic empathy and it's clear she's only in it for the paycheck. These are just some of the dozens of examples of her laziness and lack of care.

I know at least five people who stopped seeing her due to the bullying, gaslighting, lying, and refusal of care. She gives Moscow Family Medicine a bad name and I cannot urge you enough to not see her - she will not take any of your concerns seriously and will gaslight you.
