Dave is awesome, and his work is meticulous. He has an incredible wealth of knowledge when it comes to anything to do with guns and parts. His suppressors easily rival to big names in the business. I love working with this guy. He has built me a 308 precision rifle from scratch, I’ve purchased two of his suppressors, he has worked on other firearms of mine and provided numerous other parts and accessories. Great man and great company.

I’m a life long gun collector and retired Army MP. I finally got to exercise my 1919a4 that Dave built for me last year and unfortunately a piece broke that we diagnosed as to over heated and brittle . On a Saturday night Dave was calling me and is sending me a replacement part immediately. Helped diagnose the issues and walked through the problem. Dave wells is about service after the sale and I’m totally stoked to have him regarding this weapon system . More to follow but his service and craftsmanship is second to none, thanks sir!

Awesome gunsmith!!! Dave Wells is the most knowledgeable, experienced, gunsmith I have ever met. His work is impeccable and strives for perfection in every firearm from small to large scale repairs, to building custom guns. He is very personable and professional and reasonably priced. Done business with him for many years and will not not take my firearms any where else. He recently removed a scratch from one of my stainless steel guns and it came out perfect. Dave Wells is an absolute pleasure to do business. His work is exceptional and the best way I can describe his knowledge and personality is that of a local hardware store owner from the 1950's. You just don't find men like him anymore. I highly recommend Wells Custom Gunmakers. High quality work at a great price and my M&P 2.0 .40's new trigger installation with the remaining factory parts polished feels smooth as glass.

Dave is one of the most knowledgeable gunsmiths I’ve ever dealt with, generously sharing his gems and genuine advice. His success is exhibited by how busy he is, which understandably causes delays especially in the 2020 Mad Max apocalypse. Which I understand being an orthodontist, I focus on the ideal finish of a case more than how fast can I finish it...

I have dealt with the owner Dave Wells a handful of times. I have also recommended him to many others. His attention to detail and not quitting until he delivers exactly what you asked for. He is very knowledgeable and helped explain things I had a few questions about. He is a little ways away from me but the non arrogant, soft spoken, helpful, thorough and professional jobs I received, are well worth my effort to drive out there to his shop!

I handed Dave a pile of metal nonsense and what he gave me back was a perfect, clean, carefully built firearm for a very reasonable price. Daves knowledge and passion about what he does can't be beat and is what you want when you're looking to have a gun built.

UPDATE: I ended up having some corrosion inside my 1919 booster, probably from the ammo I've been using. I sent it back to Dave and he refinished it for me. The difference is night and day. The work was awesome and most importantly he stood by his original work and fixed the problem for me. I couldn't be happier!

I have the greatest respect for Mr. Wells, he is knowledgeable, extremely talented in his craftsmanship. He has gone out of his way to do quite a few repairs, adjustments and gunsmithing. He is a tribute to the Art of Gunsmithing, and a contribution to the community with his business

Dave installed a brake on my muzzleloader.. Also bore sighted my gun. Took only 2 shots to sight in. Excellent work.. Would highly recommend him..

A year ago, drove an hour to drop our gun off at the appointed time, and arrived to a locked building & no-one answering the phone. Made a second, pre-arranged, trip and dropped the gun off, to be given a completion date of about 3 months. Now, a year later, and several unmet completion dates, called for status on 10/5/23 (after being told it would be ready in September) to be told to pick up the gun, that he was working on a gun he's had for 5 years and is now too backed up to address ours. Very unprofessional, arrogant, and rude. Drove to pick up the gun, and he ran out of his Quonset hut, handed it to my son, and ran back inside. Recommend one steer clear of this outfit!
