Solid, Biblical preaching, robust worship, and amazing community!

It has been a privilege to attend for the past 13 years.

Christ Church is still temporarily meeting in a gym while planning a building, but don't let that distract you. Even the horrible acoustics of a gym does not inhibit the strong congregational singing from sounding glorious every Sunday.

I really enjoy the focus on respectful worship of God. The preaching is challenging and applicable to my life. The fellowship is sweet.

The members of Christ Church have acted as the hands and feet of Jesus to my family multiple times. We attend a different church, but they provided meals for our family when I was sick when they hadn't even met us in person. They simply live like the Bible says to live and are not apologetic about it. You see it when you go to a service, when they invite you over for a meal, in how their kids behave.

Love listening online. This would be the church I'd go to if I live there. Pastors are not afraid to stand up for what is right and speak biblical truth.

I've attended Christ Church for a number of years now and am routinely edified by the solid teaching and loving fellowship here. This is a church that loves God's word and God's people (not just those who profess to be Christians but all of his creatures). Because Christ Church and its leaders sometimes take very public stands on controversial issues in our day, it is a lightning rod of criticism (and frequently slander). But I think anyone who attends Christ Church for more than a month will find that the caricatures do not match reality.

This is a wonderful church in a town with a strong Christian community. This church has a backbone and we need more like it.

Grew up in charismatic churches and then floated between reformed Baptist and Presbyterian churches across several states before moving to Moscow. Having attended just about every kind of evangelical church, it's fair to say this is the most unique.

Liturgy: Similar to many PCA type churches with the following distinctions. Whereas most PCA churches use a lot of praise songs with one or two of the good old hymns mixed in, this church sings a lot of Psalms with a few of the good old hymns mixed in. Also, many PCA churches are beginning to take communion weekly, which this church also does. Only, they invite young children to the table, without the formal process of becoming a communicant member.

Ecclesiology: Speaking of communicant members, this church practices household membership, so essentially the whole household is brought under the care of the church, not individual family members. As such, like most Presbyterians, they baptize infants, but unlike most in the PCA, they have no issue with teenage family members being baptized as children of the covenant.

Theology: Speaking of the covenant, for the most part the church maintains the good old fashioned covenantal theology, as outlined in the Westminster Standards. Even though the Westminster is relatively silent on eschatology, the church leadership and most of the members would adhere to a postmillennial interpretation of the Bible. Members are not required to hold that view, but as one of their distinctives, it comes up a lot.

Missiology: As might be assumed from what's been written above, it should not come as a surprise that the church has a long view of the current church age. As such, its primary mission is to the next generation, as is shown by the focus on education, publishing, and church planting.

That said, since the kingdom of heaven will ultimately continue to grow, regardless of what little resistance men or demons can raise, until death has been conquered, the church confronts the complacent and the culture with very bold and confident biblical preaching/proclamation.

Speaking of growth, we've now been attending here two and half years and have seen the church grow by many hundreds of people. There are so many new people, almost all of whom are looking to meet and greet each other after the services, that we've had no issue getting settled and feeling like a part of the church.

Well done Christ Church: Five stars for your lampstand.

Out of all the cults in town, I think this one is the best. Good food, great families, authentic joy, and happy disagreements. The strategy for taking over Moscow delivers. Long term, multigenerational goals. Really disappointed with my more left of center brothers and sisters and their inability to properly resist. Slander only gets you so far.

Biblical teaching to the heart that is soft enough for God to work with (I watch services through their app). I’ve enjoying the sound truths from the other various ministries they provide (Canon Press, podcasts and blogs). If I were living in Moscow I would attend.

This place is amazing. It’s a rare thing to have pastors and congregants who believe Jesus’ Lordship means practical, Sunday-Saturday, rich and weighty love for God and neighbors. Good, Bible-believing, Jesus-exalting, adjective-using, truth-talking people.

After several visits, and just a few interactions with congregants and pastoral staff, I can honestly say the good Lord has never shown me a more welcoming and friendly Church, that ALSO has strong preaching AND is not afraid to take a firm stand for Jesus Christ in a crooked and perverse generation. I once felt the sting of “judgment” from strong churches like this when I visited, but in reality it was the sting of my own conscience convicting me of unrepented and I confessed sin. Thank God for this Church and Pastor!

As you can probably tell from all the reviews, people here in Moscow either love Christ Church or hate it. There are no lukewarm feelings towards this church here in Moscow. But this kind of cultural divide is exactly what we should expect from churches that are actually being faithful to Christ our King.

Great place to go on a Sunday morning. People are friendly, and the service was engaging. The sermon was challenging in a good way, and the fellowship was very encouraging. Definitely recommend this solid Christian church.

Wonderful church, Scriptural preaching, and welcoming community of believers. Christ Church has been my church for over 16 years, and an increasing blessing each year.

I have yet to attend this church in person, but I have been beyond blessed by its members, and encouraged and taught by their pastor. Take what you read in these reviews with a grain of salt.

Wonderful church. The preaching, singing, and community are like none other I have experienced. Doesn't get embarrassed about what the Bible actually says!

Been attending for 12 years and have heard nothing but gospel truth from the pulpit and kindness from the congregation. The congregation is a bit large for my taste, though.
