Great neighborhood place with a warm casual atmosphere. Loved my food. The Philly cheesesteak was like I was in Philly! ( in fact the role and cheese is delivered daily from Philly). My side salad was packed with fresh veggies. The steaks were good. All the beer brewed onsite was great. I had jalapeños/ blackberries wheat that was super! The Oromo was strong but the taste was gentle. Service was warm and attentive

Very good! The steaks are cooked slightly more than you want. Ordered the meduim and got a well-done. No pink 😞 So order the cook preference you want, but describe it to the server. Mashed potatoes are awesome! Veggies-good. Had the stumbling Monk-it was very good!
Tip well. Server was super friendly

Good food and beer. Excellent service. Had to try the kielbasa cheese steak being both Polish and from the Philly area. Did not disappoint. Beer was great and I got a crowler to go. Would definitely recommend.

Food was great a little more salt than we like but great. The stout chocolate cake was awful couldn't even get the fork in it. The beer was fantastic. I'm going to send them a chocolate stout cake to fix their dessert issue. Please go eat and drink very tasty

Out-of-towner's staying overnight nearby & walked to the Wellsboro House for drinks & food. Had some delicious beers + the chicken drumstick's appetizer that was AMAZING. Do yourself a favor and visit this place, it's very cool. We've booked another trip to the area in the Spring & will be sure to visit this restaurant/brewery again.

We definitely enjoyed our experience at the Wellsboro House. Excellent beer that is brewed right on site (across the street).

We were seated outside for our first round of beers, then we moved inside to a booth. Our server was very helpful.

Menu was great. Nice selection of sandwiches and entrees. We both had fish... the tuna and catfish. Both were excellent!

Spent a weekend in Wellsboro and stopped here for a late dinner. We had a party of 7, including 3 kids. The food was outstanding, but it was the service that really made our experience a great one. Carmella, our server, was awesome. She couldn’t have been more accommodating, and really went above and beyond with the kids. Calamari for an appetizer was great, and my husbands burger was cooked perfectly. I’d highly recommend if you’re in the area and looking for somewhere to eat.

Went on a busy Friday evening for dinner. We were seated immediately, and our server, Ashley, came very quickly for our drink order. My wife ordered one of the beef steaks and I enjoyed the Ahi tuna steak. Each was prepared just as ordered. The food and service were both excellent. Ashley was friendly and attentive through the entire meal. Definitely a restaurant I can confidently recommend.

Our kinda large group (7) was turned away at another local restaurant. We arrived here and what an awesome surprise! Excellent food, excellent service and great drinks! Thank you for being so wonderful and accommodating to a group of lady equestrians after a long drive to get to the canyon!!

Simply fantastic experience. Comfortable and cozy interior (great fireplace in the dining room) with excellent food and beer (as well as cocktail and wine selection). The service is great and the menu is extensive. Ultimately, I got the crab cakes but the food selection is excellent and it took me 15 minutes to pick. Even better, you can get their beers to go!

Alexa was our server. Despite being short-staffed and absolutely slammed busy, she was very nice, calm and kept us up-to-date on our food order. Food was delicious and came out at a reasonable pace. All the staff seem to really enjoy working there!

Went without a reservation and was seated within 30 minutes. The staff seemed well organized and prepared for the amount of guests! I got the dill burger and was one of the best burgers I ever had. Cooked to perfect.

There’s so much to say about this place! We got to sit and chat with Chris - the owner - for a bit who told us all about the locations history and their story of turning it into the welcoming place that it is today.

The 1862 building that is now the restaurant was once known as “Hotel Roosevelt” - named after US President Theodore Roosevelt who used to frequent the area. The barstool area at the tavern is the original and the back of the bar was built in the 1930s.

Chris and his wife Laura renovated and opened the Wellsboro House back in July 2008 and to this day remains family owned and operated.

Getting to know Chris was one of the highlights of our trip, and we enjoyed hearing stories from their renovation as well as their goals for the future.

Located across the street from the Wellsboro House Restaurant is the Wellsboro House Brewery. Also owned by restaurant owners Chris and Laura, the brewery has found its home in the historic 1914 train depot in Wellsboro.

Their motto is "limited quantity,
high variety, and consistently awesome." They currently have 16 of their beers on tap in the restaurant, and to my surprise they had an excellent selection of dark beers to choose from…so of course I tried them all!

Between the two of us, we tried:

So many good brews that it’s hard to pick a favorite…although it was a pretty close call between the Chocolate Stout and Quadzilla

Our only regret about going to the Wellsboro House on the last night of our vacation is that we didn’t go sooner! It is without a doubt a place that we would have loved to enjoy at least one more time before leaving.

Excellent food. Excellent beers. Excellent service.

What an unexpected surprise finding this place. If I could give it more than five stars if I would. Waitress was super nice, great selection of craft beers and large selection of food options. I had a hard time deciding what to order! Everything sounded good. Do yourself a favor and stop by here!

Holy Mother of the love of food!! Read mixed reviews and was unsure, but when we drove by it just whispered to us. We came for a weekend of fall foliage and new experiences. First off, our waitress Jamie was so fantastic, please make sure she sees this! Knew the menu and got so excited that we'd never been there! Was super attentive! Then let's talk about the food. My husband got the Dill burger and didn't stop raving the whole time he ate. I got the fish Po' Boy and it was so fresh and crispy with the freshest tomatoes and onion. And massive portions. That didn't stop us from getting dessert. My husband got the chocolate lager cake and he said he could never eat another chocolate cake again unless it was that cake. Perfectly chocolatey, not too sweet with that hint of lager, all warm and luscious. I had the peanut butter pie, which didn't taste store bought, so then saying "and we make it" holds true and was just the sweet heaven I needed to comfortably roll myself to the car. To top it off when we received the bill we were shocked at how reasonable the total was! We will be back before we go home. If we could give it 10 stars we would!

First time here and have to say, WOW what an amazing place. From the time you enter the building, to being seated, to being greater by your waiter/waitress, to getting your food, to checking out the hospitality and experience is beyond amazing. The beer they make is beyond great and very smooth. The steak was beyond perfect and on point along with the sides. Our waitress always checked in and not once did I have any empty glass nor need to call someone for something special cause they were always making sure you were comfortable and having a great experience. I will definitely being come back for years to come. And the place was very clean as well. Hats off to this great establishment that has earned my business and recommendations to all.

I had french onion soup, it's my favorite soup. Hard to find a good version. It's the the best I found in wellsboro.. dark caramelize onions, in rich beef broth, topped with the bread and melted cheese. Delicious.

Loved the turkducken burger! Chips are homemade. The chocolate lager cake was not too sweet, but perfect with whipped cream, ice cream, and chocolate syrup. Highly recommend!

This is one of the best places to go in the area. Friendly staff, great brew, excellent food, decent prices. Based on what you like, I don't think you can make a bad choice here.
