Lovely B&B! Such a pretty house! We stayed in the The Sterner room, the bed was very comfortable and the claw foot tub was wonderful. This house has a large wrap around porch perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee and a book. We were visiting Falling Water and this was a very easy commute from the B&B. The breakfast was wonderful and there were snacks and drinks on hand at all hours. Highly recommend!

hi I am Scott. we were three couples that had the fortunate experience of staying at the Smith House Inn this past October 4th. it was a stepping back in time feeling at the Smith House Inn. this home was in beautiful condition including a most warm and inviting kitchen, dining area, and living room. the bedrooms were each wonderful as well. each were unique and amazing as well. we got to go dinners at Mitch’s Fuel and Food and sat out on the spacious front porch.

our host for our breakfast was very polite and helpful and fixed a delicious meal to complete a most wonderful stay. thank you so much!

This was our second stay at the Smith House. The house is simply amazing, how neat, clean and beautiful it is. The chefs that prepare breakfast are very professional, catering to each and every need. The staff was very polite, professional and accommodating. The location is perfect, far enough out away from the hustle and bustle of Ohiopyle, but still in town, walking distance from several restaurants and a dollar general, if need be. 100% recommend to anyone that wants a close getaway.

We stayed here a year ago while we were riding the GAP. The house is beautiful with a large porch to sit on and common areas with many couches and chairs. The room was very nice with an attached bathroom. Breakfast was excellent. Bike storage is secure. We came on a Tuesday and there was only one place to eat dinner. Beautiful town and easy to get around.

Favorite accommodation on the GAP. The house is simply lovely after a recent remodel. The bathrooms in the garden rooms are gorgeous. All the common rooms have fabulous antiques and historic news clippings. A nice variety of coffee, teas and snacks are available. Breakfast was delicious. My favorite thing is the deep wrap around porch. Lovely place to sit and relax. I highly recommend staying here.

I had a wonderful stay here while biking the GAP trail. The home was beautiful and well-decorated. Some highlights:

1) Easily accessible from the GAP trail
2) Locked garage with racks to store the bikes securely
3) Spotlessly clean rooms with comfortable beds, well-working air conditioning and wifi, plenty of electrical outlets to charge your gear, and showers with good water pressure
4) Extremely courteous and kind staff (thank you Debbie and the chef lady!)
5) Delicious breakfast
6) Snacks and beverages available all day

Highly recommend this inn!

Excellent location if you are biking the trail. Wish it had been warmer so we could spend more time on the expansive front porch. Rooms were clean, and very comfortable. Breakfast was great. Highly recommend.

We had such a wonderful stay at The Inn. Amber's breakfast was amazing - not only delicious, bu beautiful too. The house was so clean and you can tell she really puts a lot of work into it. We loved the wrap around porch where we could spend some time reading on the hammock or rocking chairs or having a glass of wine. Everything we wanted to do was within a bike ride away. We are not avid bike riders, but the ride to Ohiopyle was so easy and the town was a nice spot to grab lunch. This Inn is a must stay if you are close to the area!

Lovely house on a quiet street. Greeter, Deb, was so pleasant and thoughtful. She gave us tips on nearby restaurants and even helped us make a reservation! House is decorated in a retro style that is so charming and relaxing. Spotless from top to bottom! Delicious breakfast. Spacious bedroom and bathroom. You cannot go wrong!

The Smith House Inn is an amazing experience. We had the pleasure of staying there recently and getting to know the owner. We loved learning about the history of the house and area from her, she truly takes pride in this property.

The rooms were immaculate, absolutely spotless. The beds were comfortable, the showers had great pressure, and we were offered more amenities than we needed. We were so comfortable during our stay that it really felt like we were staying at a friend's house. Can't say enough about the comfort in this beautiful house.

The meals were extraordinary too. We had a seafood feast worthy of a five-star restaurant. Great wine too, of course. We live a few hours away, but we're going to make it a point to visit again. It's a great weekend getaway for a solo traveler, couple, or family. We enjoyed every second of our stay.

After a wet, muddy day on the GAP trail, we pulled in to find a great place to clean up and store the bikes. The rooms were comfortable and the front porch is large and inviting. Great breakfast the next morning. The added bonus was the Confluence Cyclery in town. They provided excellent advice and got us back on the trail fast.

Beautiful bed and breakfast! We were biking the GAP trail and were delighted with our stay. Hard to find evening dinner in Confluence, yet ended up in Hotel Dodd’s/Chub’s and had a fun experience for our group of four. Great breakfast in the morning to send us off to ride more of the GAP!

This place deserves all 5 stars, without a doubt. My wife and I stayed here overnight while cycling the GAP Trail in September, 2018, and I have to say it was our most favorite of all the accommodations we booked. The staff were attentive and ready to help with anything we needed. The building was spotlessly clean throughout, and it provided a perfect mix of antiquated charm with subtle but accessible modern technology that blended quite well. For example, one of the most useful things for us proved to be all the USB sockets in our room that let us charge our 4 bike lights, 2 phones, and 2 GPS units all at the same time. We will be happy to stay here again the next time we ride the GAP, or even if on a road trip through the region.

Lovely place to stay. We arrived early and sat on the big wraparound porch until check-in time. The host showed us where to store our bicycles in a locked garage and gave us the code for when we needed to retrieve them again.

Our room upstairs had a delicious "car wash" shower with four showerheads that get you from all directions. A super way to end a long day bicycling the GAP trail. There is also a gas fireplace and a TV with Netflix.

House is in a perfectly manicured street just a short, pleasant walk to the town square that has several restaurants and a bicycle shop. Breakfast was served in the dining room. Unlimited coffee, tea, and snacks in the kitchen anytime you get the munchies. Public sitting room to chat as a group or play games.

I will just say that this was one of the most seamless experiences that I've had in my entire bike tour. I'm riding my bicycle from Washington DC to Portland Oregon and I found staying here to be completely hassle free. It is a beautiful historic home that is very well kept and very comfortable. The owner is so friendly that she even had her mom bring me food from the restaurant after they closed! 10 out of 10 recommend this place.

Beautiful house, beautiful rooms, beautiful setting. The breakfasts are great and they're very considerate and accommodating to vegan/vegetarian eaters. Abby made the best scone I've ever had in my life.

Amber was very kind when I called for a late reservation. Rebecca was welcoming when we arrived late. Breakfast cooked by Terry was very yummy.
We stayed during a bike trip form Pittsburgh PA to Cumberland MD, they are very accommodating for bikers with a place to store our bike overnight.
Thank you!

We went to visit Fallingwater and were pleasantly surprised by all the recreational offerings in the area. The inn itself is a real charmer. I expected a bagel and coffee for the “free breakfast”, oh noooo, way more. Charity, our breakfast chef and hostess made roasted vegetables and sausages, topped with an over easy egg, plenty of juices, coffee in a French press, fresh fruit and yogurt, etc. They also have a beverage station which is available any time of the day or night. The kitchen features a beautiful authentic farm sink and pleasing decor.

We rented the downstairs suite and were very comfortable there. Very nice toiletries in the bath and very good quality white towels and linens.

It took us 25 minutes to drive to Fallingwater and there are a couple of scenic overlooks along the way in the Ohiopyle State Park. FYI: book the early tour if possible at Fallingwater. We had no trouble since we went early. Also, 2 minutes drive away from the Inn, the Youghiogheny Dam has a nice little beach and swimming area which is very kid friendly. Plus, you can wade in the Casselman River, literally two blocks away. You can rent bikes locally if you aren’t an avid cyclist and just want to have a light bike ride. During our stay, we met some avid cyclists on bike tours who were also staying at the Inn. That was pretty cool to talk to them and learn their stories.

We had a great time. We will stay at the Smith House Inn when we go back to Fallingwater next year to take relatives. A+ experience.

Lovely B&B with the kindest hosts, ever! We showed up soaked to the skin after a rain storm and they had towels waiting for us! Such a kind gesture! The beds are comfy, the breakfast is very tasty and the house is immaculate. Highly recommended and much appreciated!
