We had an excellent experience at the Summit Diner. My sisters and I met for lunch - we each traveled from Pittsburgh, Carlisle, and State College. It was an excellent 50’s diner - reasonably priced food, quick service, delicious and plentiful food. Unfortunately, the lunch was too filling, so we couldn’t enjoy the Lemon or Coconut Meringue pies. Maybe, we will next time.

There's not a better breakfast in Somerset for the value. Their sausage alone is worth the stop. Portions are bountiful, service is always efficient and that says alot about a place that usually has a line outside waiting to eat.
The Diner experience is still very much alive in the Laurel Highlands because of this timeless treasure of deliciousness.
Their burgers are great as well. And their dessert offerings will have you coming back for more!!

We stayed the night at Somerset on our way home passing through PA and decided to eat at this diner on our way out the next morning. I’m glad we did. Their food tasted amazing and their Arnold Palmer drink was really good as well. If youre into zucchini, you must try their fried zucchini (planks?) from their appetizers menu. They were REALLY good and the amount they give you was crazy. Enough to feel at least 6 people. We are making this area one of our stop points for future trips just so we can come back and eat here.

Classic diner with great food. When you’re here you definitely get the community vibe. This is also one of those rare places where scrapple is on the menu. So if you love that you have to give this place a try.

We stopped here for breakfast this morning and it was great! The staff was so kind and the food was delicious. Just a heads up it's cash only. Would highly recommend!

This is the most phenomenal part of Somerset County. When you come off the turnpike, if you decided McDonald’s, Starbucks, or Dunkin’ was the move…absolutely incorrect. Their pancakes are great. Homemade sausage is amazing. Their burgers are frrrrresh as all get out. Staff couldn’t be nicer either. Cash only (atm on site tho).

On Memorial Day, while scoping out the area, we came to this Fifties Diner for a late breakfast. There's usually a line, but today, we got right in. The service was fast and friendly, the food was good, and the price was right. There were stools at the breakfast bar for those eating alone as well as booths for groups up to four. I would eat here again.

Truly a must do when in Somerset❤ the service (makes you feel like a local), the food (best pie I have had outside of my family), and the atmosphere all created a memorable experience for my husband and me. This Diner came highly recommended and we will do the same!

Just from looking at the outside you can tell this place slaps. Nothing better than a good greasy diner. From the atmosphere, jukebox , neon lights, booths and friendly staff I’d give this place a 10/10. Food came out quick and was cheap and delicious.

Genuinely one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. You can tell the food is cooked with love!

Great little diner. We stopped here on our way home from Pittsburgh. Our food was very good. Also, Best Milkshakes ever. Our waitress was super sweet and very attentive. She even came out to our car to bring me my cellphone that I accidentally left on the table. We will definitely be back. Only downside was that they closed at 3pm.

This was our first visit to the diner and we really enjoyed it! It has really cool, old school vibes. All the food was good, the fried pickles were delicious! My only complaint is that they don't accept a card, cash only. Still worth a visit if you are in the area.

If you plan on making a trip ANYWHERE near Somerset, I would make arrangements based on Summit Diner's schedule. 🤤 I'm sure there will ALWAYS be a short wait but the staff is THE MOST EFFICIENT I HAVE EVER SEEN. And the food is SO DELICIOUS. Everything is homemade, right down to their meringue pies. If I EVER find myself anywhere nearby, I will make sure I have time to stop at this AMAZING RESTAURANT. The ONLY complaint I can think of, is having entirely too many delicious options on the menu.

I was very impressed with the quality of the food, and the presentation. Portions were large, and prices were low. Staff was kind, thoughtful, and sensitive to our needs. We had the fried pickles, a bacon burger, a Turkey Club and the fried chicken and homeade mashed potatoes. I wished I lived closer. Don't pass by!

I'm a connoisseur of diners and this is one of my favorite anywhere. Excellent food served fast and cheap, classic ambience, easy access from the Interstate.

Very cute lil "hometown" diner. The food was very good (probably local farm food), the place was very clean, and the people were very friendly. It was like going back in time. We loved it! 😊👍🏼

Tried out this little diner before our trip out to falling water. Service was on point. Everyone was super nice as well. Got a breakfast staple two eggs, bacon, toast and a short stack of pancakes. It was around $7. Great prices for great food.
The inside had a great diner fee to it as well. Will definitely be back again for a lunch and dinner option as well at some point.

CASH ONLY. ATM INSIDE. The reviews are interesting. Either rage at the service or thrilled by everything. Funny sign on the door: Don't be rude and ugly to our staff. We love them. You are welcome to put in an application!
3 burgers. Dry and mixed opinions about the salting. I thought the meat itself was good. Mine was not as (over) cooked as the ithers.
Fries were great.
Chippers are uber thick kettle chips and I didn't care for them particularly. They were just a hair too thick for me but I know lots of people who would love them. There also weren't many left.
Yes, when we walked in we were waived to an open booth- which meant NO WAITING and that suited me just fine. I did not experience it as rude as one commenter complained.
We have at least one more trip to Somerset and will go back. Breakfast next time!

My husband and I have been coming to Somerset this time of year for the past 8 years. We always look forward to having breakfast at this diner. They have great food, especially their own sausage and scrapple! The prices are very reasonable, and the staff are super friendly as well.

Try to stop by here anytime I make the drive across Pennsylvania. The food is great and the prices are travel budget friendly! Wait staff is super nice. Always a good mix of locals and travelers who know what up in the place.
