I love this museum. Kind staff, wonderful grounds. I visit every year for mountain craft days. Check out the lime kiln.

We attended their festival recently and were very pleased. What a nice place to visit. Spacious, well thought out and the trail of vendors wound through the woods, allowing shade as you moved about. Much to see and it wasn't pricey at all. Check it out. History lives at the Somerset Historical Center.

We were there for Mountain Craft Days which was very cool. Lots of vendors, displays, demonstrations, and food choices. The grounds are beautiful and buildings/structures very neat to explore.

Had a wonderful visit with my 91 yr old regional historian/genealogist friend, as we sought resources in the Genealogy Library. The place is full of great materials and the staff and volunteers could not have been more helpful. The Center looks beautiful and well maintained. Of course, the setting could not be more beautiful. It is easily accessible from many directions. I have pioneer ancestors in the area and felt their spirit there. I know my Durst, Hoover, Beeghly Markleys and Hendricks ancestors are thankful to the Somerset Historical Center. I'm looking forward to a return visit soon.

Totally worth the visit. Our tour guide, Carol, was very knowledgeable, engaging and accommodating. Admission is only $6 and the outdoor tour lasts about an hour and there is also a self guided museum.

Very nice museum full of exhibits. Also contains grounds with acres of outdoor space with cabins and outbuildings to walk and explore. All areas very well maintained. Tour guides and staff have impressive knowledge to answer any questions and extremely helpful. Highly recommended if you like local and Pennsylvania history. Easy to find near Somerset.

Somerset Historical Center and Museum are fantastic! We loved to read about local family life in such detail throughout the history of Somerset County and even previous native residents. The displays are beautifully done, with loads of old photos and diaries. Well done!

If you appreciate local history and Americana you will enjoy this Center. I liked seeing some things I am familiar with from my childhood, a time of reminiscing for me. Learned new things, too!

My 14 year old son and I really enjoyed our visit. Great displays, competent and friendly staff made our visit. The genealogy library allowed us to trace our family back to 1774!

Interesting museum about living on a farm in rural Pennsylvania throughout the 1700s, 1800s, and 1900s. Great exhibits. Beautiful buildings to explore. Covered bridge is so picturesque.
