Tri-County Rural Electric

I've had Tri-County Service for over 25 years and have had good reliability and great service. The staff and employees are very friendly and easy to contact.

Absolutely the best. You never run out of data with the premium package. The cost is half as much as viasat and unlike satellites there is never any interruptions due to weather. Short of the electric going out.

Very rarely is my power off for very long. They send emails and phone calls to notify of planned outages, and are bringing us broadband internet. My rating will go to 5 stars once it gets to Cogan House.

Tri County electric is the only electric company that provides electricity where we live. They've always been kind and professional to me.

This company turned off the electric service to my daughter and her four young children's home during freezing temperatures due to an un-important piece of missing paperwork that they neglected to send to her in a timely manner. The home is totally electric, therefore there is no heat, no water. Her billing status is and has been up to date for the entire time she has had the electric service with Tri-County. This shut down was done without notification from Tri-County. When she contacted the company about the shut down, they were unwilling to rectify the situation until the the insignificant paper was returned. We attempted to report this to the Public Utilities Commission, however we found that electric cooperatives are not held responsible under this organization. If the issue was non-payment she could have had the power back on by now. All of the Customer Representatives we spoke to were very discourteous and disrespectful.
We will continue to pursue a path of accountability for these utility companies in an attempt to prevent this from happening to others in the future..

Power never stays on... when you call someone they have excuse after excuse, but it’s never their fault. I literally had someone tell me “we can’t guaruntee your power will stay on all the time”. I literally have outages almost everyday and they claim since I don’t call them in there is nothing they can do about it... but when people work full time and aren’t home all day, so you call it in when you get home, they ask you when the power exactly went out you cant give them the time, then they say they need times. HELLO PEOPLE. FIX YOUR EQUIPMENT!

Rates went up significantly and never really got a good explanation as to why this occurred.
