AHN Hempfield Neighborhood Hospital

This is for the emergency department. Everyone was great to me and my child from start to finish. Dr. Kip Jenifer had a very good bedside manner and involved my feelings in my treatment. He was quick and efficient and made good decisions for me to feel better quickly. Jamie Stone who did my blood work and I.V was amazing also. She was very compassionate and helped me through my anxiety bc for some reason I have anxiety with I.Vs . She talked me through it and explained things and reassured me that if I needed anything not to hesitate to ask. I 100% recommend this ER I have never had a bad experience but today’s team was everything you would want at a time in need. Please keep up the great work!

We had to take my one year old into the ER and were incredibly uneasy regarding the entire situation. The communication from the entire nursing team and the doctor was exceptional. They were reassuring, calming and informative. They treated us in a timely manner and repeatedly apologized for any delay (which we didn’t notice) and had us out in no time. Side note, the facility itself is immaculate and the ER room was huge—our little one loved running around while we waited. Beyond thankful for the entire AHN Hempfield ER team, especially to Brandon, Kelly and Dr. Brophy!

This hospital did more for me in 5 hours than UPMC McGee did in almost 4 days. Both were very nice, don't get me wrong! I appreciate all the help I got at both places, but I sat for almost 3 hours, AFTER being transferred from sitting in the ER at St. Margarets for 10 hours, before I even got something for the pain. I had to sneak water from the bathroom I was so thirsty at upmc, who refused me, "just in case", for almost 24 hours. This hospital had my CT scan done in the first hour. Listened to me when I mentioned the pain. Was kind to my daughter, who had to sit with me alone. Immediately noticed the first IV was bubbling, and fixed it, when I had to point it out to the nurse at upmc after it had been bubbling for over an hour.
I have actual results, pain medication that doesn't make me drowsy, and all in the same day. I am beyond thankful to Dr. K Jenifer and his staff. THANK YOU!!!!

My three year old fell and needed stitches on her eyebrow. The nurses and nurse practitioner, Thomas were very kind, calming, and loving in their care for her. I was particularly impressed by how controlled the situation was, how well they all worked as a team, and how quickly we were in and out. Thank you guys so much for helping my little girl.

I had to take my Dad to the ER because of sever lower abdominal pain. After seeing that Westmoreland ER was a 2 to 3 hour wait. I took him to Hempfield. It was 11pm and we were greeted and told them of the problem. We were escorted back to a room quickly and professionally. The nurses and ER techs we quick to gather info and start the medical treatments. The doctor arrived quickly after the nurse noticed his pain level. His pain was relieved quickly. After tests they found kidney stones were the problem. They gave him meds to help the "removal". With pain reduced and relieved it was a appendix or other issue. He was discharged. All completed from getting there to discharge in 2 hours. Excellent professional facility and staff. I can't recommend this place more.

This hospital is great! I’ve taken my kids there a few times for different types of issues and every experience for all different types of issues had been top notch! Everyone every single time has been super nice, polite & helpful. They explain things throughly every step of the way. I’ve never had to wait more than a few moments to be called back to a room. We were seen by a doctor after only about 5-15 minutes. We received VERY prompt care & were in and out in about an hour even when X-rays and bloodwork and CT scans were necessary. I recommend them VERY VERY HIGHLY!!

Highly recommended AHN First time going here. My daughter needed to be seen. Very kind and thoughtful, they took her right back to a room , and vitals done stat IV and fluids and tests ordered very quickly! The staff was wondering and caring and attentive to her needs. Very clean everything on site to laboratory and pharmacy! Etc

I had to take my 3 year old to the ER at approximately 9pm and the pediatrician office was closed. Kevin the administrator of the ER is like a family friend, more like a grandfather, suggested I take my son the Hempfield Neighborhood Hospital. We had a great experience. We were in and out in less than half hour and my son’s arm was evaluated and they were able to help him quickly. The entire staff was extremely friendly and the whole process was extremely efficient.

Amazing care, fast and efficient. Kevin, Brandon, Caitlyn, Kat, Dr Kumar, Everyone was wonderful. So nice and made my daughter very comfortable. She was in alot of pain when we arrived.

Recently had to take a trip to the ER for an allergic reaction. The staff there wasted no time with getting me in, seen, and cared for. Matt, Caitlyn, Kelly, Dr. Delnegro, and Brandon all provided exception care! The facility is exceptionally clean, and the staff are all very friendly and courteous.

I've been here several times now and have had excellent care from wonderful, compassionate nurses and doctors.
All of the staff were excellent. This is the place to go if you are in need of emergency care. I know this will continue to be my first choice always!

I have had my husband to other area hospitals and then he went to AHN . He was very happy after going to AHN . The entire staff was wonderful. This is the only place we go when we need care !

This is the 3rd time I have had to visit AHN Hempfield and have nothing but high praise for everyone there, this was the longest I have had to be there but they were solid booked and the wait was worth it..The facility is super clean and everyone I encountered was very pleasant and professional and their bedside manners were top notch. Extra praise to Dr Keaner for his thorough exam and patience in listening to me and coming up with a treatment plan that was able to instantly alleviate my symptoms and get me on the path to recovery and save me from canceling a vacation due to my issue. Kudos again to everyone!!

Went in for severe abdominal pain and extremely high blood pressure. Very impressed with the staff! The wait time was lengthy, but what else can you expect when people who could have gone to their PCP go to the ER for a runny nose?? (The ER is not a doctor's office, quit treating it like one!) Angela, Beth Cheryl and Dr. Hickey you were amazing! These providers were dealing with an ER full of grumpy/ rude individuals and still managed to be some of the most pleasant people to work with. Thank you for the amazing care and for getting me the answers I needed!

I cannot tell you what a flawless experience I had today in the outpatient center getting my blood drawn. The wait wasn’t too bad and the kind woman who took my blood was amazing. I am an extremely anxious person and I have never not vomited or passed out getting blood drawn. This amazing lady talked to me the whole time (even if I was too nervous to provide much conversation back) and kept me distracted and I had no problems like I normally do. She was having a very busy day and for whatever reason she felt like a relative to me. she had wonderful bedside manner and made sure I was comfortable. I didn’t get her name but she has dark curly hair and I hope she sees this. I want to tell her thank you so much

i’m glad i didn’t listen to these reviews and came here for the first time instead of making the drive all the way to forbes. i took my mother here and the staff was absolutely wonderful, Dr. Smith was so personable and had the best bedside manner as well as all of the nurses. we must’ve went on a good day because there was no wait at all and our time here was very short. wish i remembered everyone’s name to recognize but they were all incredibly friendly.

Had to take both my parents here at different times. In both occasions we were taken back right away. Everyone was exceptionably nice and out going.

Great service and quality care. I choose this location over others for the short wait time, friendly staff and knowledgeable physicians.
