This is such a GREAT place for breakfast or lunch. My wife and I stopped for lunch and we had the turkey and Italian subs with the homemade chicken noodle soup. The owners and staff could not be nicer and the food was OUTSTANDING! If you're in the area...don't pass up trying the Shawnee General Store. I know you will be pleasatly surprised.

Visited this absolutely amazing mom and pop general store while working in the Poconos. Went in once for breakfast and was easily convinced to go back every morning. The entire staff is wonderful and treats everyone like family. With an amazing menu, filled with a variety of sweet and savory dishes, this place has it all. Absolutely love.

I'm gonna start by saying what a great surprise this lovely store was, almost as charming as the 2 young ladies encountered there during my visit which became quite exciting when we had a impromptu wine tasting. I can only say a good time was had by all. A perfect setting for your next sandwich and especially your next wine purchase. I promise you have a wonderful experience and your expectations will be exceeded. Don't leave without a bottle of wine or 3.

Love your store, it's a staple every time I come up to the gap. I appreciate the sandwiches so much I drove out of my way to stop on the way to a couple of days of kayak camping. I was smart enough to check Google and make sure you were open before I drove there... Google was wrong, you are not open. Maybe consider updating your hours when you close for the season?

Love this general store, have been to this place several times in the past 30 years when we visit the folks in Delaware Water Gap. Located near Shawnee Inn. This place makes great sandwiches for breakfast and lunch. They nailed the fried egg, bacon and cheese sandwich on a Kaiser Roll. I get this when I visit, because apparently down south no one knows how to make these like they do in NY, barely can find Kaiser Rolls. The general store does! 😁 Enjoy!

The general store has updated since the last time I visited the Poconos, but it still has its lovely charm. One side has great meals. I've NEVER had a bad sandwich from here. Their food is super yummy. The other has wine tastings from the local urban winery, Renegade. Plus a cute gift shop. The building itself is rich in history. It's worth the stop.

Really historical place owned by very nice, friendly people, where you can find everything you need on your vacation in the area.

Love! They have the best sandwiches around and a fun wine tasting from a local "urban winery." They have chairs by the stream where you can take a glass of wine and your sandwich to enjoy a peaceful lunch. Or, stay at the bar and get tips on local attractions from the friendly staff. You really can't go wrong.

The service is great. The food is delicious. I just love the general store.

Have Not Failed Me Yet - Great new owners! Stop in!!!!!

This was a surprise find. Got lost looking for Buttermilk falls but here was better. Had some French toast and a waylin sandwich. Fresh, homemade and delicious. Don't pass this place stop on. I also got myself 3 bottles of wine at the shop.

My wife and I enjoyed great breakfast sandwiches served by a delightful young woman. Highly recommend!

Best sandwiches within a 15 mile radius, no questions asked. Anything you get is amazing. Breakfast sandwiches are the best. Deli sandwiches have the perfect amount of meat and toppings so that you feel full, but can actually fit your mouth around it. The owner actually works behind the counter and is kind beyond belief. They take customer service to another level, even on the days when they’re slammed. There’s also the cute little general store attached that has adorable little things for sale that make perfect gifts. Would go here over any deli or diner in East Stroudsburg and Stroudsburg.

Had a nice sandwich called the Inner Love which is toasted sourdough bread with cream cheese and hot kimchi! Very nice! They are still working on refurbishing the main part of the building. Can't wait to see the finished product!
