Perfect.

Arrived at 10:30 on a Saturdays morning. Wonderful throw back diner. I was smiling the second I walked through the door.

Big wrap around bar seating and a few booths. Pastry display in the middle. Mismatched funny coffee mugs. Open sight line to the kitchen. Menu boards and specials located on the walls throughout. Glass Heinz ketchup bottles! When is the last time you enjoyed that?

I had a #4 which was eggs, hashbrowns, toast, and choice of meat. Also ordered a Coke. The food was PERFECT for me. Exactly how I ordered it.

All the servers friendly and efficient. It was packed when I arrived and I didn't see anyone miss a beat. Coffee being refilled, tables turned quickly, pleasant banter, everyone working together like clock work. Beautiful.

This place is a GEM! Locally owned by the same owner since 1998. A quick shot north of Des Moines, just a few miles from Ames.

Oh yeah- my bill was under $13. No typo! Under $13!!!! I gave the gal $20 and left happy as can be. Every dish I saw leaving the kitchen looked delicious. Can't wait to share this place with family and friends.

Wow! Did you know they have weekly specials here? Today I had a Double Cheeseburger all the fixings and fries and a coke for $11.99!
Where can you get that? And I’m not talking a little micro patty’s This was a fresh ground chuck smash burger! Wow I’m impressed!

It is a very good place to eat best breakfast in town. Good price and always happy waitresses. They are closed on Sunday. I would suggest eating there. You will not be disappointed.

Had such a great time!! Staff and owner are so kind and friendly! I'm in town, visiting from out of state and I would highly recommend this Cafe to everyone! Also, the pie is to die for!! So yummy.

This is a small diner near the train tracks in Boone, Ia. The breakfast we had was amazing! It's not very big inside, but there is plenty of seating. The service was outstanding! We were eating there for the first time, and everyone made us feel like regulars. The portions were very generous, and the price was right on point! There were four of us, and we ate for around $10.00 per person! This is a great family-friendly little diner! We will definitely eat there again!

This is a tiny little cafe with a railroad theme, in a railroad town. The staff was extremely friendly, and the food at breakfast was excellent.. We loved how all the coffee cups were like ones you would find in a home kitchen. I got a big smile out of one across the counter from us that said "I love my Grandma" My son was thrilled with the giant pancake that filled the whole plate (and his whole belly). There were 8 of us who all left happy and full.

Great cozy small town cafe. The pancakes are huge, but perfectly cooked (not burnt or gooey). The portions are great sizes and the staff is always friendly. The free To-go cups are a definite plus.

It is definitely a hometown diner feel the food is good. The atmosphere feels like small town USA it can seem a bit crowded but the service is exceptional.

What a great find! The food was awesome and the service was top notch. Everyone made us feel like they knew us personally. The building is old but so unique! We will be back again!!

Was an outstanding experience. The server greeted everyone who came in and joked friendly with regular guests. She was a joy to see. We appreciate the service she gave us, unfortunately we didn't catch her name.

If your headed to the Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad | James H. Andrew Railroad Museum this is a great place to grab a tasty bite to eat and treat before your train ride. Friendly and clean!

Great little spot. We are traveling through Iowa and came across this mom and pop place in Boone . The food was pretty damn good for diner food. The server was top notch.

Took our granddaughter out for breakfast, our plates were cleaned our bellies were stuffed what a great breakfast .

Stopped here for the first time in a long time. It has the quaint simple atmosphere I like about small dinners. It was a tight fit for me and 3 others but we made it work. The waitress was quick to get our orders and refills. The price was reasonable and the staff thanked us for coming. Plus they had liver and onions.

Mom & Pop Cafe. Originally opened in 1946. Has had the current owner since 1998. Great breakfast and lunch spot. Open until 2:00.

Great pies. They usually have a lunch special and a breakfast special. We usually just get a Burger or tenderloin. It's a really small place that the service is great and did I say great pies?

A traditional Midwestern diner that serves made from scratch food. Nothing fancy or pretentious, just good food and good people. It's small and quaint (mismatched coffee mugs, etc.)-- the same way it's been for years. Grab a seat at the counter or a table and take your time eating and talking to the staff and regulars. A can't miss for breakfast or lunch when you're near Boone.
