The Prime Rib

I really like the food here we had a excellent waitress... Very nice and peaceful restaurant... I feel it was cozy and love the decorated Christmas trees... The prices are not bad...

A wonderful antidote to a long day's drive. The folks at The Prime Rib make you feel at home. It was cold this visit and we had to change tables to get my mother away from the window chill. They were fine with us switching. Our waitress was efficient and friendly. We loved the little loaf of bread and honey butter that came with our meal. We each ordered a half-order of Chicken Ocean, chicken breast on a buttered, grilled English muffin, topped with crab, hollandaise sauce and a couple of asparagus spears. The side of sautéed seasonal veges in butter and garlic was full of color and flavor. Side #2, chicken chili, was more of a soup and nice and hot for a cold night. We enjoyed generous pours of Kim Crawford Pinot Grigio. The ambiance is relaxing with warm, subdued lighting. Full bar and a great looking salad bar. Seating allows for privacy and conversation. The restaurant was decorated for fall. .Clientelle included families, senior citizens and working guys staying in nearby hotels. Casual attire is fine, but you wouldn't look out of place if you dressed up, either. For beef lovers, they only serve top of the line certified Iowa Angus. Put the tallest in your crowd on the couch part of the table as the couches are lower than the chairs.

THE restuarant to visit in Spencer. ❤ The salad bar is the fantastic, the choices are incredible, and this is a locally owned, top notch business!

Delicious lobster tail dinner! Best prime rib with au just sauce. Has a kids' menu as well.

Good place to go, but if you're a fat person you might have to ask for us figure chair or one of their wall couches

Walleye Pike has been the go-to for 10 years! Great atmosphere and decor.

We're on vacation and wanted a fancier meal. This popped up and we're so glad we came here. Wife had Prime Rib Oscar which was cooked perfectly to medium rare and had tons of crab along with the asparagus hollandaise. I had a Chopped steak in a mushroom demi glace that was very good. Impressive hash browns.

Giving a shout out to everyone at the Prime Rib! We had a last minute need for a space to fit 30 people for a class reunion (yes a totally unrealistic ask during the Iowa/Iowa State Game, first weekend of the fair, and on a Saturday night) and they went above and beyond to accommodate us with literally only 3 hours notice. It was a huge relief that they could even take us, and on top of that they were so kind and welcoming when we arrived. Pair that with the amazing service, great food, and consistent check ins while we were there, we would 100% recommend Rob and his team for any event that you have.

Family owned, has amazing number of menu items priced from medium to high cost. The salad bar is not included but if you upgrade it includes homemade salads of very high quality. They play 70s music which is quite fine by me. Lots of seating in a very nice atmosphere. We had a walleye appetizer that was excellent and could almost be a meal by itself..they do hv a meal version of the walleye also.

The medium rare large prime rib I ordered was the best cut I've had in a long, long time! Everything that accompanied the meal was excellent as well. The price was good, especially considering the quality of the cut. The salad bar was very good as well, great selection, and delicious recipes. The service was very good, and the drinks from the bar were well made, and at a good price. We will be going back the next time we are in town, and we highly recommend this to anyone interested in dining there.

Wonderful food, friendly staff great place to dine

Absolutely delicious 14 oz ribeye. This topped any steak that I've ever had at a restaurant and I've had many. I highly recommend it.
