The gravy is amazing! I definitely recommend the cheese curds and turkey. Our waitress was attentive, the music wasn’t too loud and the portions were large. 3 entrees, 1 app and 1 drink was around $50.

Excellent place to get tasty diner food. Coffee was hot, food was delicious and waitress provided exceptional service. It was packed the day we went and had to wait to be seated-but the food and service made up for it.

Every city and town deserves one of these! Service so good it feels like family. Food that features local, high quality ingredients. Atmosphere is welcoming and uses touches of pleasant, sustainable design. Patio is spacious and relaxing. Accessibility is good, dining is all on one level.

A note on the service: team service uses every teammate to seat tables, refill drinks, and run food. “Your” server might not do all of these things, but I assure it is because everyone is attentive, not that “your” waiter is ignoring you. I did this for twenty years, watching a good service team in action is like listening to a top notch orchestra.

We always enjoy eating here. Freshest coffee anywhere, fluffiest waffles, everything cooked perfectly, and the service is fast and friendly.

Well worth a visit.

The wait was estimated to be 20 minutes and we were sat sooner than that. We came in around 10:30 today (Sunday). They sat us at the counter which is my preferred seating. Service was on point! Staff was extremely nice, helpful, and efficient! Very warm and welcoming atmosphere! And the food was superb! There were so many young people working here (high school age) but they all worked together so well, like a well-oiled machine. It's great to see so many kids with such good work ethic. This is definitely a place I will continue to support!

Visiting a friend in iowa and this is the best breakfast ive ever had! I almost choked i inhaled it so quickly!

A small cafe. Booths and a sitdown bar. A hostess sat us at a booth. Waitress came right away and got us our drinks. Coffee was made fresh. Alcohol is available, for those so inclined. Not a large menu. Breakfast is served all day. I ordered the crab cake appetizer. Loved it! Made with real crab. The best crab cakes I have ever eaten. The presentation was also excellent. I also ordered "The Ah-nold Club". Again, fantastic! One of the best sandwiches ever. My date ordered the hamburger. Also very good. The sandwiches came with fries. I wuld very much like to try more of their food. For excellent food this is the place to come. Bring your date. The only thing negative is the restroom needed a thorough cleaning.
Otherwise, Recommend!

Perfect place for great food & conversations with friends! If I'm going to bluebird I'm getting breakfast, regardless of what time of time. Today I ordered a vanilla latte which isn't too sweet which I love, I made my own omelette & a chocolate chip pancake on the side. Everything was delicious, however the pancake is absolutely the best part. Fluffy & full of chocolate chips!! Highly recommended for families, a meet up with friends or if dining alone.

Busy place but there was just 2 of us so we sat at the bar. Food was great and came out fast. Service was excellent. Coffee was good and they let us take it to go. I would definitely return!

I took my parents here on a visit to the Iowa City area. It took a little convincing that this wasn’t just a random diner, but an extremely good spot for all day breakfast. While the biscuits and gravy I got were good, the real star of the night was the cinnamon roll French toast. We agreed it was the #1 French toast we’ve ever had. Everything was good, coffee was tasty, and the service was great, even though it was busy. Definitely recommend!

I met a friend here for breakfast. The staff and food were equally excellent. I had the french toast with the pecans...simply AMAZING! The best part was that because my friend and I hadn't seen each other in a while the staff didn't try to hurry us out but let us spend two hours just chatting and because we had a baby with us they put us closer to the rear of the restaurant which was absolutely perfect! Be sure to check it out when in North Liberty!!

Server was attentive and very friendly, the food was hot and perfectly grilled. Probably the best salad I have had in quite some time. I ordered the Cobb salad without blue cheese. The avocado was perfectly ripe and the nicely sized piece of grilled chicken was steaming and moist. We enjoyed our experience but most other people around us ordered breakfast and it looked amazing. Piled high and picture perfect. I was surprised to see that a breakfast type cafe had a beer and drink menu. According to their sign they make lattes as well so next time I will try that a a big plate of eggs and hash browns.

Great food! Server forgot our beer. When reminded, she brought the wrong beer lol. Got the krakatoa omelet and krakatoa burger. Burger was amazing!

My son and his fiance took us to this place. The food was delicious, the service was incredible, and the atmosphere great.

With the weather getting a bit colder, I recommend getting the hot chocolate. Very good!

Very busy on a Saturday morning! The food and service were great. Good coffee too! Had an excellent chicken fried steak and a cinnamon roll. Will definitely come back again.

Great for Sunday brunch with mimosas. Get there earlyish because you might be waiting for a table. They have a very experienced staff that turns tables quickly so the wait usually isn't long, and is well worth it.

There is something magical about Bluebird Cafe; I always have amazing food, friendly servers and great conversations. I've magically had my meals paid for twice and I just love the cozy atmosphere when you can eat breakfast all day. The portion size is a great value. I would love to see some more gluten free options too. Thank you!

Busy spot for brunch on a Saturday, but service was quick. We only had to wait about ten minutes for a table at 9:30. Which isn't a big deal for us. Had our drinks quickly and our food was hot and fresh. Will be back again to sample the lunch menu.

Amazing service, very nice staff, and easily the best coffee i’ve ever had! Very reasonable prices and quality food. Will be stopping here again when I visit next!
