Hy-Vee Grocery Store

The employees are very helpful and will accommodate your requests with any right from items ordered to anything you might need from produce to meat to general grocery items. If they can get it ordered for you they will! Thanks Hy-Vee!

Great as always ! Clean store, shelves nearly stocked, their produce was great with many good selections ! It's easy to check out as well. TOO MANY OTHER STORES are GOING to SELF CHECKOUT LANES, & I don't care for that ! I'm disabled with an extremely bad back & shoulders - it's TOO HARD on ME to HAVE TO UNLOAD MY ITEMS, SCAN THEM, & THEN SACK THEM !!!
I MEAN, IF I WANTED TO DO THAT I WOULD GO GET A JOB WHERE I WOULD GET PAID FOR BEING A CASHIER !!! IMHO: These stores that are making so many self check out lanes are going to start losing customers by not having live cashier lanes open ! (HyVee NOT INCLUDED)
Like when I go to the store, I live in a small town with only convenience stores & a $ general. They don't carry much more than a convenience store, only it is cheaper. So when I go to the store I usually buy 2-3 weeks worth of groceries ! UNLESS I'M GOING TO GET A SIZABLE DISCOUNT FOR MY TIME & BOTHER OF HAVING TO SCAN & BAG MY OWN GROCERIES, I'M NOT GOING TO DO IT, SO I WON'T BE GOING THERE‼I mean if you're only buying a couple of things, WHOEVER CREATED THOSE ARE CRAZY ‼

Was spending the day in town want to see John Wayne's home & museum. Was headed back to the hotel but what were we going to do for dinner me & my fur baby. Popped into store. They had a roasted chicken with all the sides you could want.
The clerk was so helpful got me plates & butter. The food was hot & fresh

Eating a delicious breakfast at Hy-Vee Grocery and Grill. As a visitor to Winterset, it’s the only cafe open for breakfast that I could find. Yes, it’s a great find. Who would have thunk it?!!

I absolutely will shop here again. The manager David is amazing helpful and so friendly. He was helping everyone fast response time. I’ve been in management for years. So I shop many places and I wish they were all like him

We had to get a few groceries right before closing time. The service was awesome!

Hyvee just started its perks that you sign up for. Great discounts. Very friendly staff.

I'm getting older and sometimes not easy to please. The employees at Winterset Hyvee have always been helpful even when I'm in one of my bad moods 🙄 ♡

Love to go here on my Saturday or Sunday adventures to pick up fruit,vegetables and lunch meat for the week of trucking. I don't like self checkout for all my fruit and vegetables. Employee always has to come over and check me out.🤬

Nice store with a lot of variety.

This store is very clean. The store offers a lot of variety. I like that this location has a dining option. The food that is prepared here is good. The meat department has a good variety and selection. Staff here is extremely friendly and helpful. Staff is very familiar with layout of store which can be rare to find anymore. Like the hours that they offer, especially if you work out of town and longer hours, makes it convenient to still be able to grab things as your swinging home.

We're from Colorado and it was refreshing to see such a clean, organized store!

The young Asian man who was cashier left a lot to be desired. He was incredibly slow because he was more interested in socializing with people around him. We had 2 orders. All we wanted was it bagged separately and I paid over $250.00 for it. Three times the guy just stopped and stood there and ignored what we said to him. finally I prompted him to hurry and finish as there were 4 people in line behind us. I have been a grocery cashier. I know how to work. The kid copped attitude and started banging things around. Sorry not sorry I ticked him off. He needs to get with the program or be taken off the register. It was taking so long I bagged a lot of my own groceries. It will be a long while before I shop there again. HyVee is much closer but Fareway has nicer employees. Again I spent $250.00.

+ Lots of amenities for a store in this size of town.
+ Great little cafe - and they have a patio - great for about 4-6 months of the year!
+ open extended hours and all 7 days.
+ clean, modern store with great selections
- have never experienced a negative here since they opened

Very clean and nice store! I'm back to edit my review! This hyvee is pretty decent. It's definitely smaller than the des moines locations but they have a great selection of items more so than the other competitor in town. Prices can be high on somethings but then they'll have a great sale or a deal on cents off per gallon of gas. If you need a quick stock up, I'd recommend checking them out.

Wow..this place is so awesome!! Great place to shop...friendly workers..clean and fairly priced items...I would definitely recommend this place!!!

Employees are helpful! I did the online aisles for the 1st time. We received a thank you card, a free cupcake, and I won a promotional sweepstakes through Hyvee and Pepsico for buying a 2 liter. That doesn't happen when you go to the store. Store is clean. I wanted a veggie platter and they were out so they offered to make one for me. I feel like Hy-Vee and the employees go above and beyond to help the customers.

Good friendly service, the gal had knowledge about everything great young lady

Nice employees. Very clean. Hot deli and Chinese kitchen very friendly. The cashew chicken, rotisserie chicken and pulled pork sandwich was very good. Next time I'm in winterset,Iowa I will return.
