Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant

We are new here at Guadalajara and I would have to express our thoughts that we have had extremely great most delicious meals along with one of the best margaritas I have ever tasted! Our kids are extremely impressed and let me tell you the staff is so so so nice and extremely welcoming! Thank you so much gracias a todo el staff for welcoming us into your restaurant we WILL BE BACK !! ❤❤❤

Love the lunchtime buffet. The fajita chicken and ground beef are excellent along with the salsa and fried rice. I haven’t found anything that I didn’t like here.

Would visit here all the time if I lived there.

I love the food here. And the prices are fair. I also appreciate that they deliver on a bigger scale than most others! Love it!!

Always awesome food. Just a tad on the pricey side but the food is worth it and the amount is perfect.

Wonderful Mexican restaurant located in downtown Muscatine. We frequent this restaurant and have always enjoyed our food and received excellent service. Their prices are reasonable and they offer generous portion sizes. The restaurant is well decorated and clean. "The Guad" is one of Muscatine's nicest places to eat.

We used to pick my late Mother-in-law from Morning Sun nursing home & take her to the buffet before the pandemic & we all loved it!! We're about an hour away, but if they're back to having the buffet, we'll probably be heading back there SOON!! We highly recommend the buffet for sure!!

Great food, awesome service!

Guadalajara's has wonderful service and food. The restaurant is a good size, feels open and clean. Overall, this is a good choice if you're in the mood for Mexican food.

Food is wonderful. Salsa is a paid for option but you get a bag of chips and a container to take home, so a nice idea to minimize wasting salsa.

Parking was very good,( in back).The floors, chairs,tables were clean and neat.Waitress was prompt courteous and friendly .
Food was very good, prices were very good, service was very good, portion size was very good.
We will be back again ,for sure.social distancing seating was good.
Did have to ask them to lower the volume in the music, so we could converse. B.t.w. paying for the chips is worth it.

Some of the best Mexican food I have had. Chips and salsa were just good, I like my salsa with a little more kick to it, but the rest of the food was amazing! Staff was great!

Visiting this town and so glad we ate at Guadalajara's. Really welcoming staff. Good, freshly prepared food. I had fajita tacos that were perfectly grilled. Will dine here again, when in the area!

The chorizo queso is hands down the best queso you can get at a restaurant. Perfectly melty, a little spice, and huge portions. The margaritas are always a good choice too.

the food was delicious, the service was top notch, very clean and comfortable environment, the menu had lots of choices and the prices very reasonable. i would absolutely make a point to go there again. the whole experience was great.. not a bad thing to say about it!

Casiano was our waiter and he was amazing! The food was good, but he was probably one of the best waiters I’ve ever had (And I was a server for almost 10 years!) Super attentive, nice, smiley, and just really great at his job.

A group of former co-workers met there for a "reunion" and we had really nice time. The margaritas were awesome and the food was amazing. Our server, Jose, was friendly, efficient, and accommodating. Even though his assigned section was beginning to get busy, he took time to be our photographer and capture the moment. Guadalajara restaurant is an excellent dining experience if you are either visiting or live in Muscatine. I know I look forward to coming back soon!!

I've read the other reviews on here and a few months ago I may have agreed.

However, I was here just a couple of days ago and I had fantastic service. I was with a friend from out of town, and our order was taken quickly and served quickly. We got more salsa and chips when needed, and the chips were hot. Our food arrived fast and our server was attentive. It seemed like he was being trained. The food was excellent, actually I was impressed because I'd been there before when it wasn't. Their refried beans were good, but they need to figure out what El Olmito's does for theirs (and give me the recipe, heh).

All in all, I believe they took their criticisms to heart and got some new staff and upped their food quality, much like any successful business should. I wouldn't count them out and I would definitely give them a second try.

Update: The buffet is great! Unless you're a crabby old white lady expecting steak fajitas on a buffet.

Really liked my lunch of tacos and enchiladas. Will try buffet next time - everything looked fresh and delicious. Restaurant very clean and staff was friendly. They even added avacado to my taco - very much appreciated! Fresh cilantro, tomatoes- everything was VERY tasty. Will be back.
