We've camped here twice in 2023 and loved them both. It's a very nicely maintained park, with beautiful trees. The pond is scenic, though we didn't catch any fish. The kiddos had a blast either way. We all enjoyed the trick-or-treating fun this year and decorating the camper for our last camping weekend of the season. Many memories made and we'd be happy to come again! Full hook-ups make things SO much easier!

We just stayed the weekend at River Oaks RV Park. This really is an exceptional campground. The sites are extremely spacious and the whole campground is well maintained. I read some previous posts about the gravel road and narrow corners being a concern for some. We pull a 40ft 5th wheel and had no problems driving in late at night long after the sun set. I don't know for sure, but it seemed like there were a number of seasonal campers. Everyone we met was welcoming. The campground was one of the quietest campgrounds we've stayed at. We would definitely camp at River Oaks RV Park again.

If you like the country this is the place to be. Beautiful fields of green and gold. The colors here in the fall are spectacular. It is very quiet and serene. Very much family oriented. Plenty of space for the children to play on the playground where the parents don’t have to worry about their safety. Other than no Wi-Fi it’s an awesome place to stay. I’ve been almost five months and I will definitely come back.

We stayed here July 19 & 20 while on our way to Wisconsin and Minnesota. Don't let the drive down several miles of dusty road in a rural area deter you from camping here. This campground is beautiful, park-like and the sites are spacious! All the sites are 50 amp and we have a 30 amp trailer. They loaned us an adapter; but if you prefer, they keep some for sale at a reasonable price. One of the prettiest and cleanest parks we've stayed in.

The manager Tina is amazing. She is very customer service oriented. I am a traveling nurse and she made the process easy and was always there if I needed anything. The location is beautiful but I did not like the dirt road to get to the RV park. That’s the only downfall.

River Oaks is a beautiful campground that gives you that slice of the outdoors that you're looking for. Their primitive camping sites are well worth it with plenty of space and unbeatable views. The staff is amazing and are extremely helpful.

This is a gorgeous park, especially so close to Des Moines. I stayed here 2 weeks in a row even though it was 30 minutes from my job site and there were closer options because it was so nice. As other reviewers said the big downfall is the very long, unkempt dirt road to the park. It seems short but because of how the washboards are, and the hills, you have to go very slow when towing. I don’t mind a dirt road but I cringe because I know the layer of dust that will be in my camper at the end. Hopefully the owners can make the new, shorter, paved road that they have hoped for because that would be the icing on the cake. My only other very small complaint is that the sites are pretty unlevel front to back both weeks in both sites. My front end was all the way on the ground while the rear was so far from the pad I wasn’t sure if my stabilizers would reach.

With all that being said I would go back in a heartbeat! The person I spoke to on the phone was so accomodating- I booked Mon-Fri and then last minute wanted to come in on a Sunday. Instead of just telling me no, she moved a few others around and got me in on the day I wanted and was very sweet.

River Oaks park has been a great long term stay for us. The park is beautiful with new and mature trees. It’s also been a quiet place, even on the busy weekends and holidays. The staff and owners are friendly, helpful and always have time to chat and make you feel welcome. We live full time in our RV and this will definitely be a place to return to when we’re back in Iowa! There are a few miles of gravel road to get here, but having lived on a rock road for 30 some years, it’s not posed a problem for us!

We camped at River Oaks October 20 thru the 23rd. The trees are changing colors so the park was gorgeous. We enjoyed the Trick or Treat night on Saturday. The kids in their costumes was fun to see. It was a great weekend. We'll be back again.

I absolutely 💯 love it here!! If you enjoy the country feel, beautiful sunrises, hearing the birds sing, watching the humming birds and occasional wildlife. This is the place for you, it's very peaceful and management is so friendly and helpful. So glad we choose here, best decision ever!

This is a nice clean and well maintained campground in a beautiful country setting along the Des Moines River. At the same time, you'll have easy access to the attractions in and around Des Moines. We went to the Iowa State Fair two days and it took only about 30 minutes to get up there and parked. The next night we went to Principal Park in Des Moines to watch the Iowa Cubs. We met some nice people here including the owners. You'll have to drive down a gravel road to get there, but don't let that stop you. The gravel road is in good shape and you can wash your truck when you get home. Besides, from my experience, most of the best things in this world are down gravel roads. Great campground!

Are you looking for a quiet RV park? This is the spot large lots lots to do lots of shade full hook ups 50 amp. So if you're pulling less than fifty, you will need a adapter. Thanks to the park for Lending me one as I was pulling 30 amps. All sizes of RVs or parked there. there's walking and biking trails hiking trails lots to do they do have golf cart rentals as well as a entrance into the Des Moines River. This place was great they have showers currently they are Solo male and female but are working on a new building for showers laundry and a community store. They also have laundry washer and dryers a folding table. Everyone at the park was super friendly. Full hook ups.

I initially left a very justified bad review for the rv park that was once Webb's Rv park. This place is now under new ownership and the owner made it a point to reach out to me about a review I left in summer 2019 to right a wrong committed by the previous owners so obviously I'm removing the bad review and I'm going to say that at the very least the new owner cares about his customers and their opinions as well as the reputation of the camp grounds and that in itself is a huge improvement. If this owner is even a fraction as involved with this camp ground and puts the same amount of effort into the campground then I have high hopes this place will be a drastic change in comparison to it's previous owners. I look forward to going back there which is a place I swore I'd never return to because of how bad we were treated, and it's such a beautiful place and it now has good owners to help it blossom.

This is a beautiful RV park. The sites are fairly level and a nice bit of room. We would stay aging if we are in the area.
