Hays Regional Airport

Super small airport. The main lobby is small yet comfortable The bathroom is to the right upon entering the building checking if in the back towards the left. The staff are really nice and helpful. If you need to fly in and out of here it's a great place. There's likely to never be awake at the airport you should be able to get in and out as quickly as you get there. Security is fast to get through and thorough. To get on the plane you must go outside which is a con yet it can be quite nice. This airport is one of the few airports where you can take a video of somebody getting off a plane coming down the steps. One should be able to greet their guest as soon as they come into the building.

The lady that took care of me when my flight to Denver kept getting delayed was super nice and got me and everyone snacks and little bottles of water. She was absolutely amazing! This place has wonderful security and amazing people

Pilot lounge with two comfortable recliners and a small desk. Line guy asking the right questions about fueling order. Nice old courtesy car in great shape. Helpful gals at the fbo.

EDIT: Hays regional is now running flights to Denver at a time I can catch a connecting flight - way to go guys!

Original: I would love this airport but they don’t run any flights to Denver until 6pm! That leaves me with almost zero options of getting a connecting flight from Denver. I will be changing this review if/when this changes. It just seems like really bad planning/management to run one flight a day that late!

I’ve been here for Five Straight Hours. If you aren’t here for five straight hours, then this is the single-handedly fastest check-in you can have. It has a vending machine, and they aren’t charging you 20 bucks for a cheeseburger. Hay’s regional airport is keeping it real, and I respect that. I never considered it, but if I need to be in Kansas, this may be a really good airport to check into, provided that you can also get a rental car when you land. The staff and security are so nice here, and I had a great time waiting. Which no one can honestly say happens for any other airport I’ve been to.

You can keep your big city airports with your long runway holds and delays...not to mention all the overpriced expense that goes with it! .I'll take HAYS REGIONAL AIRPORT ANY DAY!! I love the flights to Denver on the regional jets! I'm always so glad to come back to Kansas. .and Hays Regional says welcome home

Small airport very good service and TSA are not aggressive like other airports. Also after going through security. There is free water!

My first time flying in a regional airport. They make flying super easy! Everyone was nice and the process was painless and hassle free and quick. I got there way ahead of time preparing like I would a bigger airport. I would say 30 mins ahead of time is good when using Hays since it's smaller. It was kind of weird walking outside and up the metal ramp to board the airplane, kinda like the celebrities do in their personal planes. 😆 lol. The cabin is small so some bags may not fit, like my bookbag on wheels, so that went under the seat. Daily flights to Denver makes it easy to travel to big cities when flying United. Thanks a lot Hays Regional! No parking fees for overnight which is nice. And we boarded early and got to Denver early which is nice because Denver is a huge airport. They served water on the one hr flight.

Dorothy uses this place to get back home! Not as cheap as those Ruby slippers but Toto appreciates it!

A small airport with zero long lines, zero TSA attitude, and friendly people. I love this airport. Oh yeah, parking is FREE.

Love Skywest flying the jet in and out. Denver, Chicago, both great destinations and convenient.
