This place is unbelievable! I only had an hour to spend but could have made it an entire afternoon. Greg started with a story on how it started and the fascinating adventures that occurred here. The building you start in was the guard house which has a story on how it was built that is truly amazing. I sit and wonder how they did so much with so little. You need to check it out, you'll be glad you did.

The tour guide was great, he really took pride in his story telling and explanation of the artifacts. It's a small museum with two other buildings down the street, but if you enjoy history it's worth your time to stop.

Outstanding, the tour guide did an excellent job of laying out the history. Loved the awesome display of authentic 1800's clothing, furniture, guns and the life style they lived. Great job, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

The caretaker of the place is a degree-ed historian, and very knowledgeable about the history of the fort, and how it, the settlers, and the local tribes interacted. He took over an hour and a half to go over the history of the site, the operations of the fort, and the various recovered artifacts.

Remarkable history here, from paleo-Indian to late 19th century. Among other things, Fort Harker was a significant support and supply post for the US Army following the Civil War, and several original buildings remain. The museum, while small, is filled with important, revealing artifacts. Upon arriving, I was propitiously met by the fort’s lead historian and gifted storyteller, Mr. Heller, who was singularly generous with his time and knowledge.

Lesser known Forts but so worth it. We are giving them a 5 and we didn't even get out of the Guardhouse! Greg is an awesome Interpretative Guide. We are headed back with our spouses at a later date, hopefully! We'll worth $10.

The Ft. Harker museum is like stepping back in the time of the 1860's Cavalry soldier and pioneer. They display period artifacts found at or near the site. Totally family friendly staff. You'll love it!

Great little place to visit if your into history. There's a map there that shows what the town looked like back when it was just a fort. If my memory serves me right where the bank is now used to me where the old forts morgue used to be
