Osaki Japanese Restaurant

Genuine Japanese food is served at the Osaki Japanese Restaurant.

The building is decorated in the traditional Japanese red on the outside. It's not hard to miss.

Inside are beautiful paper fans about 4 feet across, which were arranged in fashion on the walls. Asian ornaments adorned the restaurant. Behind the bar was a beautiful mural of a wave painted in Japanese formation.

The menu offered many Japanese dishes. The food was very authentic and delicious.

When in Hays, Kansas, or near by, stop at the Osaki Japanese Restaurant to taste real, authentic cuisine.

We got here around closing time and were greeted by friendly staff. They have plenty of choices to choose from, which bento boxes isn't something offered in my hometown. The food came out fast and it was all good. Highly recommended.

Good place and service. We reached at 8:30pm and were still given service and obviously amazing food. They had enough vegetarian options especially the veggie tempura and odon noodles.

This is a great restaurant. The waitress is very welcoming. We tried the box and sashimi. The food is fresh, served quickly and has a wide variety. Worth experiencing!

We looked for a place that was different than what we usually eat at because we were on a Mini vacation and this place was perfect in the food category. The service was slow so be prepared to wait a bit but it was worth it. We got the Salmon and Chicken Bento boxes w Mochi for dessert and Japanese Soda in Strawberry, Orange, Blueberry.

Very delicious and very well balanced. Each bite is consistent the flavors burst and the staff are extremely polite. Highly recommend

Lovely place for good food whilst driving I-70 from Denver going east. Was in the mood for veggies and lean proteins so hibachi works great. Staff were super pleasant and the food was really tasty!

Poor A/C was doing its best, it was 104* outside when I dined here and was a bit warm, but not too bad.

Would stop again should I find myself in the area!

I had the chicken hibachi lunch and it did not disappoint. Amazing flavor and the person who helped me was very kind. I will definitely be back!

Good Japanese food in Kansas? YES! I stopped here on my way through Kansas. It was about five minutes off the highway and well worth venturing beyond the usual offerings that cluster near an interstate highway. I was excited about Japanese food, so I ordered a lot of food. Gyoza, Beef Negamaki, And Hibachi that came with onion soup and a salad. All was delicious. The gyoza were beautifully portioned and cooked perfectly to be on the edge of crispy on the outside, yet moist and flavorful throughout. The onion soup was great, too, with a nice nuanced set of flavors. The salad was fresh and crisp, with a Japanese dressing as you would expect. The Negamaki and Hibachi was all cooked to perfection and had great flavor. The scallions in the Negamaki were just slightly sweet, and the vegetables that accompanied the hHibachi were delightful.

The BEST sushi and rolls in southwest Kansas. I enjoy the veggie and sushi rolls and often get the Maki roll lunch which included 3 rolls and a small soup for less than $13. The rolls are always beautiful and perfect, the avocado is always just right. I eat a lot of sushi in the area from Garden and Dodge City all the way up to Hays and this is by far my favorite place to go. The prices are the best too with avocado and asparagus rolls still going for $3.50 each. The white tuna rolls are also a favorite.

Fair price for fair food quality, totally worth it.
If you are a sashimi lover, you definitely want to try out their sushi and sashimi.

As new transplants to Hays, we want to try all of the flavors Hays has to offer and Osaki did not disappoint. The service was exceptional, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere warm and inviting. I highly recommend this restaurant. I know it will quickly become one of our favorites.

They were a bit short staffed, but told us right off the bat (not sure why, but it was a beautiful evening), and the staff busted their behinds to make it a great experience for everyone there. Kudos to them!! I'm sure some people weren't happy, but you can't please everyone all the time, and I didn't personally notice anyone visibly upset. I've eaten there before, and it's always been very, very tasty.

Reasonably fast service, absolutely with a smile. They care about their customers and their satisfaction. Definitely recommend if you're either passing through or live in Hays, KS. I dont think you'll be disappointed!

The beef negimaki was hot a appetizer, straight from the kitchen, and quite filling too. They have a great sake menu with an adequate beer selection, as well as a very nice and hospitable staff to add to the clean atmosphere; Erin was a wonderful hostess and server. Bottom line: No need to be wary of sushi in Hays, KS. You gotta try it!

I went here for the first time to try it out as I mosey along the country, had a wonderful time and enjoyed my meal.
