The Garden Gate

Traveling on a trip from Alaska to MI, my husband needed coffee to stay awake. So I googled “coffee near me” and it brought up this delightful shop in Carrington ND. We were pulling a trailer and there was plenty of parking for us on Main St.
Husband got coffee, I got raspberry ice tea and we each got a yummy pastry. Delightful lady helped us and was training a new employee. I also found in the gift shop two religious magnets 👍 A delightful find!!😊😊😊

You will be surprised to find the Garden Gate in the small town of Carrington. The food is delicious. The decor is warm and inviting. The pizza is substantial and the paninis were spot on. You won’t be disappointed with your meal.

This is a very quaint little spot to enjoy coffee and a light meal. They also have pastries. We enjoyed it both times we visited. The staff was very willing to talk about the history of Carrington and the buildings that they were in. Enjoyed this very much.

GARDEN GATE never disappoints! From home decor to gifts to coffee, sweets, drinks & unique fantastic tasty hors d'oeuvres all in a cozy welcoming atmosphere👍👍👍top notch & well done always. This is more a specialty place then a restaurant.

We knew nothing of the Garden Gate before opening the door and now it will be hard to for forget! The sandwich, salads and soups were prepared above class by wonderful people that will restore your faith in humanity:)

Originally from this small town i had heard about this place. Finally went there for lunch and can't stop telling my family about the quality of food and the decor. The new addition is just outstanding and would be something I would see in bigger cities (Minneapolis, Phoenix, Fargo...). Although this addition is not quite finished, i look forward to my future returns to enjoy this gem (craft beers, cocktails, and vino). I have read the reviews and find anything less than a 5 star review to be unfounded (not having a cardboard sleeve,... please!) Staff is friendly, helpful and just great.

Always great coffee. Absolutely love the gift shop side. They put a lot of thought into the displays. I enjoy coming here first on my trips to town.

What a charming place! Wait staff was attentive, food was great. Prices were on point and such fun/asthetic atmosphere. I had the shrimp nachos and chicken flatbread. Both were so delicious!

The Garden Gate is really a neat place with alot of neat old antiques and other things. A great place to meet family there and they great food. I recommend this to all my friends if they were in the area. Great place.

This is the most underrated place in Carrington; the overall aesthetic makes me never want to leave! And the coffee! Every single one I’ve had tasted so amazing! Worth the prices.
