Applewood Restaurant

Nice place to stop in and eat. Service was good and the food was delicious. I ordered the large Chicken fried steak with corn and fries. Would def stop in again when coming back thru.

We ate at Applewood Restaurant for Thanksgiving. The buffet was outstanding!
Having worked in food service industry for most of my life, I don't make that statement lightly. Everything, down to the simplest dishes like corn, rolls, or even the rolls were some of the best I've had. I would highly recommend.

Really good breakfast spot. Probably the best sausage gravy I’ve had in a while. Eggs cooked perfectly. Breakfast meats were tasty. Only slight knock was ordered hash browns extra crispy and didn’t get them that way. Friendly service. Food prep time reasonable for busy breakfast time. Good value for the money.

Where do I even begin, breakfast, lunch ,dinner,brunch... however you want it!! Hands down you will not find a better chicken fried steak in the state of Kansas. Truly a hidden gem that will never disappoint, when it's asked around the family what we eating....need I say more? If you've never been your robbing. Yourself of something truly, BIG BANG FOR THE BUCK!!!

Wonderful place for families to gather, staff are like family...indeed some ARE family, they're personable, unobtrusively watching out for customer needs. My only "beef": the Reuben sandwich should include Swiss cheese - instead I got melted nacho cheese food, yech! Still, I liked their chicken fried steak.

Omg!! The chicken fried steak was 🔥! You get two sides, I picked mashed potatoes and green beans and they were both well seasoned. It also came with a side of gravy that was also well seasoned. I also ordered some bread pudding, mannnnn whoever back there in that kitchen, a big shout out to you my friend. Everything was great!

Sunday brunch buffet is incredible! The food is great. They told me its all fresh made and I believe them. It's that good!

The buffet had scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, breakfast potatoes, biscuits and gravy, Mac and cheese, chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy (I chose brown), enchiladas, and so much more! All of it was top-notch.

The service is wonderful. I never had to wait for drink refills. As soon as my glass was empty, Rachel was right there with more of their delicious sweet tea!

I never had a dirty plate sit on my table cuz Nancy came and cleaned them up as soon as I was done.

I'm a larger man, and I usually have to skip booths and sit at tables with less comfortable chairs, but this place was able to accommodate me.

I will definitely come thru here again when I'm in South Hutch.

I've been here about half a dozen times for lunch with coworkers and each time I am surprised it's not busier as the food and service has been top notch. The chicken fried steak will easily feed two adults and might be the best around.

Omgosh I found it!! 6 years ago I was riding with my truck driver hubby. I got so sick with strep throat I couldn't eat for like 3 days. I ordered some Mac n cheese hoping I could eat it. They made it extra soft (over cooked the noodles for me) and made me the most creamy, delicious Mac n cheese I've ever had in my life!! I was finally able to eat!! Thank you so much! I can't wait to go back!!

Awesome food decent prices nice clean but the best part was the staff I wish I had gotten her name my waitress was a young lady with long red hair she was extremely polite and attentive definitely will go back

Food was great right from the rolls all the way down to the chicken fried steak and the service is phenomenal and very polite the atmosphere is good it's a place where the whole family can eat at a pretty good price and trust me you get your fill.

The meal was delicious with good portion size and the price was great. The service is great and the atmosphere is enjoyable.

OMG! The Buffet was amazing and then Bread Pudding?! Wow Great place! Great Value! Amazing service! Enjoyed this very much!

Sunday around 10:50 am. Busy, but not too busy. We were seated quickly and asked about our drink choices immediately. We both got Sunday breakfast specials @ $8.99 each. Waitress was perfect (I think her name was Maddie B.) She kept our drinks full and remembered everything we asked for. Food took a little time but was great.

First time here, wish I could have been here earlier, on Sunday they have a brunch buffet, I have a really tasty chef salad though, and everything on the menu looks delicious

I always stop here on my way home from Wichita. And as always the service and food are absolutely amazing.!

The best hand cut chicken fried steak in the Hutchinson area hands down. 1 of only 2 places I've found making a real chicken fried steak! Not some frozen drop in fryer job. Most everything else is pretty good too but the c.f.s is the crown jewel of this place. Friendly and good waitstaff as well!

Great staff. Food was delicious and were extremely large portions. They had a small buffet but we ate off the menu. Chicken fried steak was HUGE!
