What a great place for dinner! We didn't try any of the craft beers. We just had dinner, and it was amazing. Our server took great care of us. Our steaks, Angus ribeyes, were perfectly seasoned and cooked. The loaded baked was very good! The salad looked good, and it was. For dessert, we split a nice size serving of bread pudding.

It's definitely a great place to visit for dinner!

This was our 3rd or 4th visit to Fly Boy’s from out of town. The food is always great, but tonight was next level!! The weekend special was phenomenal — wagyu steak with pesto gnocchi and mushrooms. I’d have never thought to pair those things, but it’s got to be one of the best meals I’ve ever had! Melt in your mouth, beautifully seasoned steak, and the gnocchi was so tender and tasty. 10/10!
Our cocktails were delicious too, and service was so great!

Some of the very best food and beer in all of Kansas! Worth the trip! (The photo here is a year ago, but provides just one example of the many great dishes and unique specials offered at Fly Boy!)

We were hungry from our day of hunting. Stumbled upon this place centered in a delightful and charming small town in Kansas. I couldn't believe what we found. What a treat it was! This place is certainly worth going out of your way to find.

We decided to take the 1hr drive to Flyboys restaurant from Salina. We were a little worried about driving all that way without a reservation. I had called the restaurant to ask about wait times. They said during super busy times, Friday and Saturday nights, it could be hit or miss but if there is a wait it might only get up to maybe 20-30 mins but that’s about it. I mean try and go somewhere in town (Salina/Hays/Wichita) and not have a 20 minute wait on a Fri/Sat night. We arrived about 7pm and there was a very nice crowd but no wait. The atmosphere was great, a quaint small town with an amazing restaurant on Main Street. The inside was just right, nice decor on the walls(mostly aviation stuff) but not too much where it’s annoying or trying too hard(roadhouse look) and the noise was just right to still have a normal conversation over drinks. Our food was amazing! Two in our party had the special, Beef Stroganoff, and you could easily tell this was not some whipped together hamburger helper knock off. Several of the ingredients were locally sourced but all were made in house. The other two had Chicken Fried Steak with mashed potatoes and corn. In my opinion, this dish along with a basic hamburger tells a lot about your restaurant. If you can’t make a basic hamburger then nothing else on the menu will be good. If you’re stepping up your game and you raise the bar by putting a Chicken Fry on the menu then it better be good. It can not be frozen, must have a good ratio of meat to crunchy crust/breading, and the meat needs to be a good tenderized cut, not gristley and tough. Every restaurant says their chicken fry is “The Best”...I’ve found that most should just leave it off the menu. Flyboys however knocked it out of the park. The meat was perfect. The potatoes were creamy and fluffy. The corn was sweet and juicy. Lastly the gravy very nicely complimented it all. I’m a ketchup person but I definitely did not need to use the red stuff here; gravy all the way. There were a couple very small hiccups with our order but it was promptly and generously corrected. That part was very impressive. Overall the restaurant was phenomenal and the service was impressive.

What an absolutely amazing meal. The steaks were cooked perfect. The beers were interesting and flavorful. Even the apps and desserts were good. We drove from Hays, and it was worth the trip.

Enjoyed our visit to this small town brewery!

Don't let the small town fool you. This place offers a number of beers to please most palates and seasonal ones that might be a little off the beaten path.

The food was delicious and the service top notch! Check their Facebook page for specials.

If you are a fan of planes, trains or automobiles, the proprietor Clay, is the guy to chat with!

Was very excited to try their bison burger special featuring Kernza® buns made from Kernza® grown at The Land Institute and bison which was also sourced locally. Along with the beer brewed from Kernza®, the meal was fantastic. It was a pleasure to have a good meal that was truly local and also seasonal. Aviation theme of the restaurant is also unique!

The locally-sourced prime rib was perfectly-cooked. The fried pickles and bread pudding were next level delicious. Everything was crafted with care. Even the ranch was home made. The head chef and owner made me a drink I have never had before with tequila, kahlua, and cherry, called ”chihuahua… something” highly recommend!!

This gem 💎 is an absolute must. Mind blowing Ribeye. 😋 Consistency delicious. In my opinion the Ribeye, baked potato and green beans is the best.

Driving the Interstate looking for food. This place pops up as highly rated and we decide to give it a go. The road up there looks dismal and we almost turned around and passed along. Do not give up. This was an awesome find way off our beaten path. The waffle melted in my mouth. The chicken fried steak was spot on. I really liked 4 of the 5 beers in my flight of house brews. Folks were friendly and the bathrooms were clean. Is ever we make it back this way, this is a must-stop (even being off that beaten path.)

Great service, food and ambiance. We traveled from the Wilson Lake campground and really enjoyed it. We both enjoyed the French dip sandwiches, the roast beef was super tender and delicious . Our server Zach was excellent. Highly recommend this place.

Food was excellent. I had the P51 Burger and didn't even have to add any condiments. Cool little place in a small town. Brews were flavorful, full bodied with a nice finish.

Nice little hole in the wall. Wait time for food could have been a little faster but for as busy as they were. It was totally worth the wait.

What the hell? Seriously. What the hell? Who would have expected a delicious microbrew/restaurant in Sylvan Grove? The beers are solid, and the food is delicious. This will be the only place I eat out at when visiting Wilson State Park from now on.

Clean, space, environment, didn't have any food, but they brew, and the Barnstormer is excellent. Get off the beaten path and check it out, real Kansas small business at it's finest.
