1866 Bar & Grill

A pleasant lunch experience, good service and the food was fresh prepared and exactly as ordered. The wait staff and owner were very happy to answer questions and all seemed to be enjoying being there, kind of rare these days.

This place is amazing! Had the chicken marsala and it was EXTREMELY good. Really really impressed with how good it was. The staff was friendly as well. Just an excellent restaurant in downtown Tonganoxie and I recommend it to anyone!

We had one of the best waiters we've ever had. Personable, knowledgeable, and attentive without being hovery. The special he suggested was delicious; chicken breast on mashed potatoes with a Peruvian sauce. A band was playing called "Smoke Damage ". We stayed for the rest of their gig. What a fun band!

Way above expectations at first glance. Quaint little place. I had chicken Marsala with a fantastic salad. We will be back sooner than later!!!!

This is an interesting downtown Tonganoxie but this restaurant could hold its own anywhere. Great food great people very reasonable prices

Great lunch stop. Had the steak fajita salad. It was excellent. The posted menu is different than the one we had in the restaurant. Service was outstanding. Ladies room is a little rustic.

Everything was great! Walk in and doesn’t feel small town. Small menu but amazing options.
Burgers, spaghetti, chicken panini, salads and so much more. Chicken fried steak smothered in two gravy’s and tasted awesome.

Great spot to stop in after fishing at Leavenworth State Fishing Lake. Nice variety, friendly staff, and fresh meals.

We were there on a quiet Monday night. Looking at the menu, there is a nice variety for a small place and thought the prices were reasonable. Alway like supporting local. Owner came over and visited. I will be back.

Super tasty salad with grilled to order sirloin that was perfectly grilled, tender and flavorful and served up fresh and warm from the gril! Instantly received a friendly greeting as I entered and throughout my visit the service was gracious and friendly.

Just stopped in for a quick mid-afternoon gin and tonic but it looked like a really nice place. It smelled good, it was nice and clean, it had two nice young waitresses waiting for people and there were two men in the kitchen ready to cook! Their menu looks fantastic. They have steaks and fried pickles and burgers and all kinds of steakhouse things. A small bar but with a really good choice of boozes. I'm looking forward to going back and having a big steak with my family and friends.

Very friendly and fast service! Open for lunch and dinner. Good variety of food, always prepared fresh and hot. We had lunch, many local people were eating their lunch here. Located downtown. Highly recommended!

This was our first time visiting 1866 and we were VERY impressed! Our entire experience was very enjoyable. I had a good ole classic burger for lunch and it was very good! Probably one of the best burgers I have had in a while! My wife had a chicken gyro with their stew and WOW! We will definitely be back to 1866!

My friend lives in a converted church in three neighborhood where this fine establishment is located. This evening he invited my Son (10 year old), and myself to dinner with him at 1866. The employees were phenomenal! The food was fantastic, timely, and worthy of another visit ANY time I'm in the area. The ladies that served us were very welcoming to us, especially towards my Son. 1866 was recommended by staff from the Circle S Ranch and they specifically suggested we try the spaghetti and meatballs. My mom made excellent meatballs and I'm usually disappointed by anyone else's, but I gave it a try. WOW!!! The dish was excellent (no one could ever top Mom's 🙂)!!!!! My husband thought it was great too. The atmosphere, pricing, and service was outstanding. Our server, Jamie, had a smile throughout our time there, was prompt, and attentive. We look forward to going back!!
