Lucas Park Recreation Area

This was planned to be a stop over on a trip between St Louis and Denver but WOW. I don’t know where to begin. The lake views are beyond amazing. The sunset was stunning. My grandma would be impressed with the cleanliness of the shower house/bathrooms. The campsite was first class and the hosts were super nice. (They were even able to save us some $$ with my America the Beautiful pass). I will camp here again. Did I mention the views?!

Beautiful State Park with awesome camp sites by the lake! My pup and I were on a road trip together and this was a great place to camp along our travels. Will definitely come back on our next road trip!

I was honestly floored by how great this park was. The camping was magnificent (site 98). The hiking options were enjoyable. Plenty of beach access. I will say there isn’t much in terms of shade so a hat, sunscreen, and skin coverage are crucial. The boats start early on the water so if you’re a light sleeper in a tent, take into consideration.
The bathroom facilities were spotless and the park ranger staff was helpful. We will be back!!

The road up to site 98 was long but beautiful. Surprisingly far from i-70. Lots of sites around the lake. Our bathroom was average, but expected of a vault toilet so no biggie. Rangers were around throughout the day which said to me they put a lot of work into integrity of the reservations and experiences. Site 98 overlooked the lake from a small ridge👌. we were able to launch our kayaks easily lets say 50 ft down. Was a small beach as well by the site. Larger beaches elsewhere

Spent four nights at Lucas park. Shower house and restrooms were very clean and stocked. The park custodian, Ken, was very friendly and helpful. He made our stay memorable. We'll definitely stay again.

Went to get away from Covid. It was relaxing, we went walking every day and our last day we walked rock town, that was fantastic, great place and a beautiful sight. Enjoyed where we parked few people around and they stayed there distance and had on masks. Absolutely wonderful didn't worry about anyone. Check it out yourself.

Beautiful state park. Very large camping sites. While we were there we watched several kite surfers showing off their talent.

Great .Not over crowded camping spaces....

It's really good just to relax around with family here.

Well, taken care of. Camp hosts and rangers extremely friendly and helpful. Had a problem with the park power being low because of all the people using ACs. My power watch dog was shutting me down when it dropped to 104 volts. However, the staff was able to get the power company out on a Saturday. Replaced three regulators I’m told and park power is fine now.

Absolutely gorgeous part of Wilson Lake. Kayak or paddle over to some phenomenal rock formations.
