El Potrillo

Carne asada - deliciously prepared. Outstanding salsa. A cheerful and pleasant environment.

We were seated right away.
The workers were friendly. The drinks tasted delicious. I had the enchiladas rancheras and I tried the steak potrillo. Both were delicious, I was absolutely starving too. The atmosphere was quiet and we all had a good time. Thank you very much.
Update: I tried the taco borrachos last week and the enchilada rancheras and they were quite delicious.

All of the food was delicious, but the best thing was the jalapenos. I ordered a side dish of jalapenos and they were grilled and seasoned. I've never had them quite like that before and they were perfect!

Real deal Mexican in small town Lyons. Tasty and affordable!

Really good food. We went Friday and had to go back Saturday. Great service and flavorful food. Cheap for the quality.

I had a chicken taco salad, and it had what seemed like extra the shredded chicken, delicious! The service was awesome, even better than the food which was hard to accomplish. This is a great place to go especially if your hungry.

Every time I visit this restaurant, everything is A+

I just spend a 3-day weekend at a horsemanship clinic at the Celebration Center Bar K Bar arena and we ate at El Potrillo one night. It was the best restaurant! The food was excellent and the staff were all so nice and accommodating. They went out of their way to make our special recipe margaritas and were just very happy people. Very refreshing!

Absolutely Amazing authentic Mexican food!

Very good for the money.

A lot of Vegetarian options, excellent prices, and decent food quality. The biggest perk though... as far as I'm concerned anyways is the basket of chips and salsa basin. The chips are very good and the salsa is even better, I have ate at the restaurant around 5 times and am usually half-full by the end of the chips as they are just that good.

A bean burrito, Enchilada, and Tostada meal comes up to $7.50 which is very reasonable, I've never been able to finish a plate there so I always have leftovers which is a plus. I'd rate the place as follows.

It's just a really great place to eat for such a small town, there is a better restaurant in Hutchinson named Fiesta Grande but it's also more expensive so I find this place hard to beat value-wise unless your cooking it yourself. The service is better than most of even the more expensive restaurants I've been to which is saying something, the waitresses are very aware of the dining area and I have never had to wait for more than a minute for a refill.

I highly suggest eating there, I've lived in 4 different states and this is my second favorite Mexican restaurant overall yet is the cheapest as well.

Service there was great, fairly packed but we didn't have to wait for more than 30 minutes for our dinner to arrive. Food is great too, highly recommend the #13 combo.

Best mexican restaurant that my wife or I have ever eaten at. Speedy food and service. Better than fair pricing and wonderful energy. Even if we move out of state, I'm confident we will go back for everything that they have to offer.

Best corn soft shells around, try the nopales. Wide open seating important post covid. Check out the painting with the hidden people in it, it's very well done.

The food here is so amazing! Great queso, fresh tortillas and a killer salsa. Had great service from my waiter, will definitely go back!

As a Mexican food addict, El Portillo took the cake for around the area! The chicken chimichanga wasn't dry, the rice was soft and the beans weren't salty! My hubbys fajitas(shrimp, steak and chicken) were drool worthy. Will definitely be a regular ☺

I'm just going to say, if it's Mexican food you're looking for when you come to Lyons. I would highly recommend coming to El Potrillo's first. I believe I'm qualified not to guide you wrong. Hey, it's alot of quality for the price.

We had a very large group and the waiter work very hard to keep up with us. Food is good.
