This museam has a great collection of items that seemingly spans the history of the local community. Admission was free, and guests are free to wander the museum at their own pace. It would be a good stop for a family or travel group because of the variety and depth of the collection, literally something to interest everyone.

Great collection of items that are local and have a connection directly with residents of the county. They have a scavenger hunt for kids in multiple age ranges, and plenty to look at for all ages.

Chisholm Trail museum got its start when a group of Wellington citizens joined together to form the Chisholm Trail Museum in 1963. After many meetings and planning sessions, the Chisholm Trail Museum found its home within the walls of the historic Hatcher Hospital building. The hospital had recently closed after the sudden death of Dr. A.C. Hatcher, son of hopsital founder, Dr. A. R. Hatcher. The Hatcher family graciously gifted the hospital building to the Chisholm Trail Museum in 1965. Since that time the Chisholm Trail Museum has acquired thousands of items representing the individuals, organizations and businesses who have made Wellington and Sumner County what it is today.

3 floors of artifacts...great use of space to display the Trail as well as other aspects of history including the fact that the building was originally a hospital. Admission is free....look for the longhorn in the front...best to park on side street.....Great experience and excellent staff member

This is one of the nicest small town museums we have visited! A good variety of items to see and displayed very well. Not cluttered or overcrowded. Well worth the stop!

I really enjoying this place; spent a couple hours. It is really busy and not pristine like a typical museum, more like an antique consignment shop. Worth a look!
